A nice little camping trip [Private]

"Well..." I say to Kristen after a short hike, "Here we are." We stand at the edge of a humble campsite. A basic tent is set up. There is a firepit in the middle with the remnants of last nights fires burnt out inside it. Other than that it is neat, no bits and bobs litter the ground.

"Thanks," I say, "If you brought a tent we should probably set it up now. Doubt we'll need to though. Looks like the weather is going to be beautiful."

" yeah I dont think i'll need" I say
" so do you sleep here every night ?" I ask

"Not really," I say, "kinda lonely as I said."

" yeah, is there anything you need me to do ?" I ask

"No," I say, "thank you for the offer but why don't you just make yourself at home for the moment. Is there anything you need?"

"ok and no i have everything i need" i say, i rummage through my bag,and pull out my sketchbook and pencils. then i sit down and start to draw.

"What are you drawing," I ask her.

"the trees , the sky, " I respond looking slightly embarressed.

I sit down next to her. "I used to do a bit of art," I tell her, "Sculpting. When I was younger. I was pretty good at it too. You seem to be a fine artist, so why are you blushing?"

" it`s just my half sisters are so obssessed with makeup and they excpec me to be to, they think drawing is a waste of time " I say quietly

"It's hardly a waste of time. In fact it is the exact opposite. To draw something is to immortalize it for as long as the drawing survives. Makeup is lost the same day it is applied." I say.

" thats what I told them but they never listen, they dont really like me, I think its because im not as pretty and obssessed with makeup as they are"I say

"who cares," i say comfortingly, "What people think of you should never be too big a concern. Besides, to dislike someone for a reason so shallow and inaccurate means their opinion matters even less."

I look around starting to feel uneasy

I head back to the fire pit and put several pieces of firewood in it. Then I breathe fire on it to light it.

I look startled " did you just um breathe fire ??" I ask nervously

"yeah," I say expecting this question, "little trait I got from my father."

"Think so?" I ask surprised, most people reacted slightly less enthusiastically... "My father was always better at it though. Still I always hope I am doing him proud. After all they did to help me the least I can do is make them proud."
