James Valentine and Ice2215

James sat down on the bench and waited for something interesting to happen. He didn't know what would happen but he wanted something exciting to happen.

Jake walked into the arena, looking for someone to spar and if he couldn't find anyone he would just use the training dummies, he looked around and spotted a guy sitting on the bench, looks like he might get someone to spar with after all. Jake walked over to him and said "Hey what are you doing here?"

James looked at Jake and smiled. "I'm just doing nothing. Waiting for thing to happen or someone to spare. You wanna spar?" James got up and took out his 2 black daggers.

The guy looked at Jake and smiled, "I'm just doing nothing. Waiting for things to happen or someone to spar. You wanna spar?" with that the guy stood up and took out two black daggers, Jake smiled and said "Sure I'll spar with you, thats the reason i came here anyway, to find someone to spar." Jake's ring then turned into a celestial bronze sword and shield.

James smiled. "Great." James walked to the middle of the arena and turned to face Jake with his daggers ready. "Come on then." James said with a laugh. "Just to let you know I'm new at this whole fighting thing, so watch out."

Jake walked back a few steps to make the distance between him and the other guy bigger as the guy spoke, he was a new camper, he was less experienced then him and Jake couldn't find the camp necklace anywhere on his body which meant this was his first year. Jake smiled and ran towards the guy quickly and slash upwards, aiming for his torso.

James side stepped. "Your good aren't you?" James asked as he swung his left knife up to his chest and his left knife toward his left thigh.

The guy side stepped his slash and said "Your good aren't you?" Jake ignored it as the guy was swinging his left knife up to Jake's chest and the other knife towards Jake's left thigh, Jake countered it by slashing downwards with his sword, blocking the swing towards his chest and used his shield to block the knife coming towards his thigh, Jake smirked and used his magic to make pitch black tendrils made out of darkness come out of the guy's shadow and try to wrap around the guy's hands.

James quickly realized Jake had used magic and chanced a glance behind him. He saw the black tendrils coming for his hands in time to swing his left knife at one. James kept his right knife facing toward Jake, ready for any attacks.

Jake watched as the guy used his left knife to fend of the tendrils and kept the right knife facing him, Jake tried to use his shield to hit the guy in the chest as a distraction and 2 seconds after using his shield he attempted to stab the guy in the thigh while the tendrils continued distraction the guy.

James turned his attention to Jake and forgot about the tendrils. He swung his knife down and parried Jake's blade. He then stabbed at Jake's left shoulder. Hopefully if he connected he would slow Jake down.

The guy turned his attention to Jake, hopefully he forgot about the tendrils, he parried Jake's sword then tried to stab at Jake's left shoulder, Jake smirked as the tendril caught the guy's hands by the wrists, stopping the dagger before it touched Jake, Jake jumped backwards with his shield back into ring form, he pointed the tip of his blade towards the guy and a ball of darkness slightly bigger then a basketball formed in front of it, the darkness ball was then shot at the guy.

James quickly slashed at the tendril holding his wrist, then ducked under the ball of darkness, barely in time to dodge it. James ran forward at Jake, leading with his right knife and ready swipe with his left knife when he got close enough.

The guy slashed the tendril holding his wrist and dodged the ball of darkness, almost getting hit in the process, Jake pointed the tip of his sword towards the guy as he was running towards Jake, this time a darkness ball twice the size of a cannon ball formed and was shot at the guy, once the ball reached near the guy or the guy dodged, the darkness ball would open and wrap around him with tendrils.

James saw the bigger ball of darkness and moved both his knives to meet it. He didn't know what would happen, but it was worth a shot. He ran toward it and his knives connected.

Jake smirked as the guy slashed the ball with his knives, the ball split open as soon as the knives connected and tendrils tied his arms together behind his back, it had been extremely easy for the tendrils as the guy's arms were just a few inches away from the ball, Jake then said ,"Your not bad, whats your name?"

James struggled with the tendrils. He tried to turn his Knives upside down and cut the tendrils, but they just grew back. James soon gave up. "Names James. James Valentine." He struggled one more time, then saw it was useless. "Alright you win. Now do you mind releasing me?"

"Names James. James Valentine." James said once he gave up trying to free his arms, he tried one more time but found that it was useless "Alright you win. Now do you mind releasing me?" Jake smiled and said "Sure, my name's Jake Ryan." Jake then snapped his fingers and the tendrils evaporated, "How long have you been here James?"

James rubbed his wrists. "Nice to meet you Jake. I've only been here for a week. Nice place so far." James looked around. "Let me guess, your a child of Hecate, goddess of magic?"

"Nice to meet you Jake. I've only been here for a week. Nice place so far." James said as he rubbed his wrist and looked around, "Let me guess, your a child of Hecate, goddess of magic?" Jake smiled and said "Yeah i guess I've made who my parent was very easy to guess, nice to meet you too James, I've been around here for 6 years already."

James looked impressed. "I can't believe i did that good on you. I always thought i sucked at fighting. But with Aphrodite being my mother, i guess people don't expect me to fight." James laughed.

"I see, so your a child of Aphrodite. Thats very interesting, i always thought Aphrodite kids always fussed about their appearance, well in any case this is good, we have more fighters for the war against Kronos now. Your fighting is quite good, but i was going easy on you just now, i didn't use my fire because that would burn you and possibly the arena as well."

James laughed. "I thought it was a bit to easy. But not Aphrodite kids are like that. The only bad part about fighting is infections," James shuddered and scowled, "That's something to be scared of. It makes it so hard to look good." James got a disgusted look on his face. "Anyway. Tell me more about this war against Kronos."

Jake laughed as James complained about infections, 'looks like he still has a little bit of Aphrodite in him.' Jake was snapped out of his thoughts when James asked him to tell him more about the war against Kronos, Jake immediately got a scowl on his face, "Well for this year Kronos found a way past the Camp borders by using Daedalus's labyrinth to get in, there have been three battles against his forces so far, i'm not sure if we're gonna have any more, hopefully not."

James looked at him in amazement. "Daedalus's labyrinth? Wasn't that in Greece?"
