James dodged the little ball of darkness and kept watching it. When it came toward him, he side stepped and stuck his knife out and the ball of darkness ran into it. James then noticed Jake running toward him.

James had figured out Jake's little trick, sadly, Jake was a little disappointed with how easy his darkness balls were beaten but he continued running, his sword became pitch black when he reached striking distance and Jake slashed upwards, releasing a crescent shaped wave of darkness at James when he slashed.

James rolled to the side, avoiding the wave of darkness. He then ran toward Jake and stabbed toward his chest with his left knife and slashed at his shoulder with his right knife.

As James rolled to the side, a hand made out of darkness shot out from the crescent, flying towards James at a high speed, Jake blocked a stab to the chest with his shield and slashed diagonally across James' torso, the darkness hand morphed into a ball and attempted to crash into James from behind.

James rolled over to the side to dodge Jake's strike. He felt a hand grab onto him and he slashed it with his knife. When he looked back, there was a ball of darkness coming toward him. James rolled again to avoid it, then ran at Jake again.

Jake smirked as James looked back and shot another crescent wave towards him from the front, as James dodged the ball of darkness by rolling once again, Jake made the ball combine with the crescent wave and follow James.

James looked at the wave and as it got close, he leapt to the side, ran toward Jake and faked a slashed at his chest, but brought his leg across and tried to trip Jake.

Jake watched as James leapt to the side, Jake immediately made 10 hands of darkness burst from the side of the crescent wave that was nearer to James, the darkness hands chased James at a high speed while Jake got ready for James' attack. Jake slashed downwards to block James' slash at his chest but was tripped by James' leg, Jake quickly morphed his shield back into a ring and balanced on his shield arm as he fell and attempted to kick James in the stomach just as the hands were about to reach him.

James did a back flip to avoid Jake's kick but jumped right into the hands. James quickly turned around and started slashing furiously at the hands.

Jake smirked as James did a back flip right into his darkness hands, Jake stood up and made the hands reform as they were cut, more hands sprouting from the wrists of the darkness hands already there, Jake hoped the hands would keep James distracted for a little while longer as he pointed his shield arm's index finger at James, a small ball of darkness formed in front of the finger and a large darkness beam erupted from the ball towards James.

James was in trouble. He kept slashing at the hands but they kept growing back. James decided to go for the cresent of darkness instead of the hands

Jake smirked as James gave up on the hands and went towards the crescent instead, just before James and the crescent collided, the beam of darkness Jake had shot out smashed into James, normally it would explode on contact but Jake didn't want to kill James so instead, James would be wrapped up inside of a big darkness dome that was floating in the air.

James was surprised by the hit. He struggled furiously but couldn't break free. "Darn these balls of darkness!" James said. "I guess you win. Again."

Jake looked at James and was slightly amused by the sight of him struggling, "Darn these balls of darkness!" At this remark, Jake chuckled slightly and the darkness evaporated, freeing James, "I guess you win. Again." Jake smiled at this and said "That makes three wins for me, you did well though."

James laughed. "If I had magic powers i could do that to." James said with smile. "All i have is a great smile and a pretty face." James said laughing.

Jake smiled as James said that if he had magical powers he could beat him and that all he had was a great smile and a pretty face, "Thats not true, your pretty good with those daggers for someone thats only been here for a week, keep practicing and I'm sure you'll be a great help in the war."

James smiled. "Thanks. Not bad for an Aphrodite kid, right?" James said laughing. "I've seen my brother's and sister's. Most of them look like they've never touched a weapon in their lives."

Jake laughed at James' comment on his own brothers and sisters, "Touched? I'm sure they've touched a weapon during Capture the Flag and the war before but using it might be a different case though."

James laughed. "I guess I'm a special case, right?" James said smiling "My brothers and sisters are nice though. They helped me out a lot. Without them I wouldn't know anything about the camp."

Jake smiled at this "Well, at least their doing something useful, I was worried that they'd be too obsessed with their looks to help the camp."

James smiled. "A lot of them were obsessed with their looks." James said with a laugh. "Some of them only glanced at me once and kept putting their makeup on."

Jake groaned at the two comments about the Aphrodite campers and smacked his forehead with his palm, "They have got to focus on more important things, I bet they would think getting rid of a zit was more important then saving someone's life."

James smiled. "Zits are scary, but I would save someone. Even if it meant I had to look bad doing it." James looked up at the sky, dreading the day he had to go to battle with his cabin. "I really hope they can pull it together when the next battle comes. If not I'm joining the Ares cabin." James said with a laugh.

Jake smiled as James spoke, 'Good, at least this Aphrodite kid is willing to show his face to save someone even if he doesn't look great.' Jake shuddered at James' last statement and said "I don't think you'll want to join the Ares cabin, it'll take a while to figure out where the land mines are in there."

James gave a uneasy smile, not knowing if Jake was kidding or not. "Um..land mine? In the cabin?" James asked uneasily.
