Jonathan laughed a bit. "Relax, man. I can't charmspeak so it's all good. And besides, I'm used to it. A lot of people call me a coward," he said, trying to be off-handed about it. "Yep, but I sneak out a fair few times. See my folks and stuff. I guess you stay year-round too?"

Remaining silent seemed like the right thing to do. What was there to add, anyway? Jonathan shuffled slightly on his feet and looked up, realizing that it was getting darker by the minute. Twilight was slowly crawling in.
"It's getting dark," he said, remembering that his friend was blind. "You want to head back?"

Looking out one last time at the darkening horizon, Jonathan sighed and caught up with him. His bare footsteps padded through the grainy sand below and he made a mental note to put his shoes back on once they were back on normal soil. "Yeah. I need to get back to mine too. Thanks for the time. I'll just see ya around then?"
