The Beautiful Protector and the Fighter xD private-ness

Alyssa sat extremly bored by the creek. Fiddling with her lacy coverings over the holes in her jeans, she accidently pulled one loose. "Dammit." She cursed angrily. Suddenly a branch snapped. She whirled into action with her bow drawn tight across her chest. "Who goes there?"

Jared heard a voice when he stepped on a twig and grabbed his daggers from the 'X' belt dangeling over his chest. He, of course, wore no shirt. Carefully he stepped out of the shadows listening for anything flying his way. Of course he'd be able to intercept it without much effort but he still wanted to be careful.

Alyssa clucked her tounge impatiently. She didn't lower her bow however. She simply narrowed her eyes. "Can I help you?"

Jared shrugged twirling his dagger between his fingers, "You tell me," he said in his dense British accent.

"What?" Alyssa snapped angrily. He came here, bothering her. And with no shirt? How...well...how rude? He expected her to answer? Surely not. Alyssa drew back the arrow a little tighter. "Why are you here anyway?" The straps of her bra fell down her shoulders as she shivered in the wind. Too bad she left her Northface on the ground just sitting on the rock.

Jared snapped his fingers and a golden shield appeared on his left arm from his leather wristband. He now put both daggers back and took out the crossbow which he could fire with one hand and quicker than a bow and arrow.

Pfft. Screw that. Alyssa tentively lowered her bow. "Kay, just because I don't have that many weapons, I will lower my bow." She grumbled reatatching her bow to her back and grabbing her jacket off the ground. "Aren't you freezing?"

Jared let his shield disappear and reattached the crossbow to the leather belt on his back and shook his head, "'Course not?" he said, he hadn't even realized that it was already winter.

"How? You aren't even wearing a shirt." Alyssa explained breifly rasing her eyebrows. She shrugged the jacket closer. "If I was out here shirtless, I'd be freezing." Alyssa blushed when she realized that she had just made a terrble analogy.

Jared smiled a rare crooked smile and shrugged, "We can't all be like me," he teased.

Alyssa continued, "I happen to like my various body parts, thank you very much." She lifted her head and crossed her arms over her chest.

Jared snickered and shrugged, "Of course you do, there is nothing wrong with you," he commented seriously.

Alyssa frowned. Usually guys tormented her about her body. Ok, then. It was probably some kind of joke anyway. "Yeah right. You're just saying that to get a rise out of me."

Jared shook his head, "That's where you're horribly wrong love," he smiled a crooked smile that didn't reach his eyes.

"Pfft." Whatever that meant. Alyssa's eyes narrowed once more before she unarrowed them. "I thought Ares boys were supposed to be mean and cold. Like bricks, in a way." She snorted and took a matcbook of her pocket. She pulled a match out and struck it against the light-y stuff. It burst into a small flame. Alyssa usually only did this for pure animosity.

Jared's expression changed and indeed became all twisted and cold, "Would you rather see me like a brick then?" he growled.

"Not particularly. But at least I'd understand, why. Because at least then, it'd all be an act. Just for pure...pure...just for kicks." She said in a face set in stone. What he didn't know was that she was in desolation inside. Dying. Her soul was dying inside, Aylssa had no idea he was trying to be nice and that he wasn't kidding about her body. She wouldn't know? How could she? Her entire life was based on a life. Her father, lying, her mother lying. The only women Protector since a millenia ago. Her own life. Crushed. Smashed.
~I really connect with Alyssa.

Jared melted again and smiled, "I didn't get one word of what you meant," he admitted.

"Nevermind. A boy like you would not wanna hear of pathetic past." She said shaking her head.

Jared raised an eyebrow even more confused than before.

Alyssa's eyes met in the middle as she pinched the bridge of her nose. "Ok, look. I'm a Protector. Like a Warrior. Sorta. But different in ways. For one, I'm a girl. I'm also the only girl protector ever. I went and studied at a harsh castle and learned patience and whatnot. I'm there for a while and they tell me that I have a destiny unlike any other. That I'm supposed to come to this camp and Protect some one. Bah. I don't know who they were talking about. So...I'm still looking." Alyssa ended her story with a blush.

Jared got an idea. A brilliant one, "What about my sister? She's blind. Don't tell her you know though, she'd murder you. Literally, but you could protect her from things she could not sense coming?" he proposed carefully.

"Well...I don't think so. We protect the opposite gender. Unless she's a guy in disguise...then no." Alyssa said scratching her neck.

Jared raised an eyebrow and nodded. He didn't know what to do know. He didn't want protection and didn't know anyone who needed nor wanted it...

She looked around boredly. "Soo..."
