let's have an adventure

Sutton was practicing. It was just what she usually did in her free time. She wanted to go off campus for a while later during the week. She was sure she was going, but she told herself that if she did then she would have to practice. She had been practicing for almost a few hours already and had skipped lunch to practice. She knew she would have to stop after a while, but she didn't care. Safety or hunger? To her, safety was more important.

Sutton had already practiced with almost all her weapons and other weapons. She had  practiced her karate. She was starting to run out of things to practice. She needed someone to fight with. The arena was a tad empty considering it was noon, but there were a few people here and there. She was looking for someone her age because she didn't want to practice with a ten year old. She had had many years of practicing. Eight years to be exact. Ever since she was eight years old. She still remembered when she received her first weapon. A celestial bronze dagger the size of her palm. She remembered practicing with it every day. Learning new moves from a patient son of Athena.

Sutton quickly shook her head. She couldn't think of the past right now. Especially her past from a long time ago. She didn't want that to happen if she was fighting in the outside world. She sighed and shot the last arrow in her pile. As it hit straight in the middle, she reached for a sword. She looked around, trying to look for a partner to practice with.

John Everte

John paced the corner of the arena that he was currently practicing in. His sword out, and with the hilt around his wrist so it couldn't be knocked from his grasp. He let a loud yell as he swung at the nearest dummy again hitting it directly in the neck, right where it connected to the shoulders. Something that for sure would have been a kill. He pulled his sword from the dummy and paced back to where his bottle of water was. He took a long drink. Even though he was only wearing his black sleeveless shirt, and his workout shorts, the summer was still hot to him. The fact that he was having a hard workout probably didn't help matters any. The boy moved his long black hair from his eyes as he sat down and watched some girl practicing her moves. Huxleigh, who had previously been laying down, lifted her head sleepily. Her eyes standing straight up in confusion that John was not currently beating a dummy. The boy grinned slightly. His dog certainly'did not like it when something caught her off guard.

John watched the girl with his grey eyes, like pretty much'all children of Athena had, and watched all of her movements. Slilently critiquing her in his own mind, based off of how he thought she should be fighting. There weren't many things though, she certainly jad enough practice that was for sure. John silently watched for a while, hoping she wouldn't notice him'watching. That woukd result in a chance of him getting hit. Which would suck.

Sutton practiced a few moves with her sword before looking around for someone to practice with. She saw a few people a bit older then her or younger. Sadly, the older ones already had partners. She watched them for awhile, but felt someone watching her. She took a quick look around and her eyes fell upon a boy around her eyes. She could see the familiar grey eyes from where she was standing. She grinned almost to herself. An Athena kid. She had grown up with them practically. She didn't have that many half-brothers or half-sisters. She had grown up with them being her brothers and sisters. She hadn't seen this boy before. He didn't look familiar at all to her. Maybe he was new? She was curious of course, but that would mean she would have to talk to him sadly. Talking wasn't really her thing.

Sutton walked up to him with her sword dragging behind her, making a scraping noise. She quickly lifted the sword, putting the tip of it just to his throat. She wasn't putting any pressure to make it bleed. She wasn't that crazy. Not crazy like him where he started to watch her. That was the weird part. Why was he watching her? Was he watching her practice? Did he think she was pretty? Whatever the reason was, she still found it weird. Sutton swallowed before talking and took a deep breath. "Why were you staring at me?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

John Everte

As John watched the girl, she finished practicing and began to look around at the people around her, of course the boy did admire the fact that was pretty, but that was more of a side note. She hsd good moves with the sword, could defend herself in a fight. That was what intruiged him. John was always fascinated with watching others fight. Learning new moves from them that he could use. As well as learning their strengths and weaknesses, so he knew what to rely on if they were fighting against monsters with each other. Strategy. Battle Strategy, that was what else entertaind him. A small smile crossed the boy's lips as he watched, her moves were great. He liked to see that. Knowing he wasn't depending on a bunch of idiots. When he finally came back from his inner realm of deep thought, he saw the girl striding towards him with her sword dragging on the ground. This probably isn't a good thing. He thought to himself with just enough time to start to move before he found himself sitting there with a sword at his throat. "I was just taking a break from training and saw you training and was curious. That's all, picking up some new moves from watching you and learning how you fight." He says as a deep growl came from his right. "Easy Huxleigh. She won't kill me. A weakness in her threat, won't allow for that." He says and gestures downward with his head.

His right arm sat facing her, his sword out again and touching the girl, just barely, right on her stomach. With that being stated the boy pushed himself back away from the girl's sword and stood up, facing her. "John Everte, Son of Athena. Nice to meet you and your... sword. My huskie is named Huxleigh. What is your name? And please tell me that I'm not gonna get another sword to the throat for that question." The boy says with a half smirk on his face, the kind that showed he was being playful. He looked down at her with his grey eyes, sudying her poise to tell wheter or not he should be ready to run in case she wanted to gut him. John felt his back warming as the sun hit it, considering he had his back to the sun. He reached up and moved some of the long black hair of his out of his face, hoping to get more air circulation. He really had to get that cut short soon. Or else he'd get a freaking stroke. As he did so, John was surprised to find that his pale skin wass now slightly tan. He really'must've been outside more than he thoughht he was. Anyways, he figured it was high time to stop overanalyzing himself, and focus on the girl at the moment. Considering she did just put a sword to his throat.

Sutton almost laughed when he said he was picking up some new moves. She fund it humorous. He was just picking up 'her moves'. The moves that she had been practicing for over eight years. She had practically do them in her sleep. She remembered when she was younger and her instructor had made her practice nonstop. She hated her at the time for making her practice all the time. Now however, she didn't mind. She still practiced nonstop by herself however because her instructor had died when she went off campus. Sutton missed him a lot because he had taught her everything she knew. She didn't appreciate how she had practiced doing those moves over and over again, and he just wanted to 'pick up some new moves.' It made her angry inside, but on the outside she kept cool and collected. She was taught that she wasn't supposed to show weakness. She bit her tongue to stop her self from applying pressure to his throat with his sword.

Sutton looked at his dog. She smirked. Oh wasn't this going to be fun. He was asking for death? She could do death. "Venire Mickey." She said in Italian as her wolf came and sat next to her watching the other dog. She returned her gaze back to the boy as he put his sword to her stomach and introduced himself. She laughed light-heartedly. She took her sword away from his throat and dropped it next to her. She grabbed his arm and twisted it behind him. "You never learn do you?" She said before pausing and letting go of his arm. She had caused him enough pain, for now at least. "Sutton." She said. She didn't plan on telling him anything else even if he did ask.

Sutton walked over to the mat where she was practicing before. "I need a new partner. My last one ah sort of died." She said referring to her instructor. She didn't which way he took that sentence, he could think that she had killed her last partner or something else. She didn't care. Either way was fine with her. "We can do hand-to-hand, sword to sword, bow and arrow, hand and sword, et cetera. I can do anything." She said, cracking her knuckles.

ooc- can I just say how much I love this rp? haha
