Kat was starving. She had been practicing all day and had eventually stopped after a while to play volleyball. She was dripping sweat and had quickly showered before wanting to get something to eat. She had been enjoying the wonderful weather all week. It felt good to be back to normal. She couldn't do much about it really. She might as well just forget about it. It felt nice actually. Just to worry about Kat. It also felt nice to be called Kat. She hated her name. She had changed it for a reason she knew that, but she still didn't care. She still hated it. Nothing about that was new.
It was better to be out then holed up in her cabin. She was staring to feel better. It was weird though. She had gone through the same thing when her mother died. Hopefully, she wouldn't have to go through it again. She never wanted it to happen again. She did miss her mom though especially now. She wished she was still alive so she could call her for advice. For help. But even if she was still alive, she probably would've hated Kat and looked at her with disgust on her face. Kat quickly shook the thoughts away. She didn't need bad thoughts occupying her mind when she was in a happy mood.
The Mess Hall was partially full, which was great because Kat could avoid any awkward stares or glares. She filled her plate with various things before walking over to her cabin table. On the way there, she saw a familiar face. A face she could never forget. Skyler. She had been thinking about the boy lately. She missed him so much. He was like a brother to her. Kat dropped her plate on the floor with a loud clang! before walking over to him and giving him a hug. She could always fix that later. Kat quickly let go before stepping back and grinning at the boy. "Skyler. I haven't seen you in awhile. How have you been?" She asked remembering what happened at her cabin. She had disposed of the knife not long after, along with the others and decided that she could make her own knives.
