I try and move out of the way, but still feel my left leg bleeding. I wince at the slight pain; I had had worse. I couldn't play defense anymore. Maneuverability was my main advantage. With that out the window I was screwed. Option A. gone. Option B... in process. I charge at her both daggers extend full length.

Penny felt the sword make contact with Cain's leg ad almost felt bad, but it was practice. You get hurt in practice just as easily as on the playing field. Penny stepped foreward taking up a stance of embrace preparing herself to get the full on force of Cain's wespon. She waited for the pricise moment then swung her sword out and deflected one knife while dodging the other. Penny took a quick step back regaining her balence.

I move into a skid, trying to come to a halt. I feel my leg give out and next thing I know I was on my back. This would be the end of practice. I couldn't stop mentally killing myself for what an idiot I was. This wouldn't keep my alive in real combat.

The tip of Penny's blade stopped its movements at Cain's neck. She pointed it and smiled. "I win." she announced through panting breaths. She flipped her sword once and it turned back into her bracelet. She offered Cain her hand as a help up to hi feet.

I wasn't proud of how I went out, but I wasn't going to be a poor sport. I take her hand and in swift movement I was back on my feet. "Thanks." I place one hand on the cut and said a quick prayer to my father. It had worked with simple bruises before, why not something like this? I smile at her before asking, "Who are your real friends?"

Penny raised her eyebrows at Cain. "The people I'm close to," she answered simply with a shrug. "Why? You going to stalk me through my friends?" Penny wasn't going to start maming names of people. There weren't many names in that list anyway. Penny wasn't mad about that, she was actually proud to have a small group of people she was close to.

Penny's cheeks flushed lightly. She shoved her hands in her sweat shirt pocket and shrugged. "I don't know what I want to know about you. I like to learn the more we go along." Rushing everything and making it so she knew everything about him so quickly would make things eventually boreing. She liked being with Cain, she didn't want to rush things.

"Alright." Man did she know how to kill a conversation! It was almost impressive. I look out the entry to the arena. It was a straight shot to the edge of camp. and not far from there to a gas station. "Hey, wanna, you know, grab a coke or something?"

Penny looked up at Cain. "Yeah," she answered with a smile. "Yeah, I'd love to. That'd be great." Penny didn't understand why she was so anxious. She concluded that she was just anxious to get out of camp, but Penny doubted her own thoughts. She was always one to doubt her mind.

"Then what are we waiting for? " I ask placing my daggers back in their holsters. I sprint over the to the gate. Gently I smile over at her. "Bet I can beat you out of camp."

Penny smiled and followed him out in a light jog. "Yeah, I bet you can." she muttered then sprinted after him. Her smile spread widely across her face. She caught up with Cain easily.
