My knocked out friend (Private to Brook)

I nod. The dreams probably do have something to do with it. I sigh. I'm so frustrated right now. Why is it too much to ask my brain if it will just tell me who Hunter is?

I look at him.

"You should go, Calyx," I say, "I'm not worth the wait and it'll probably be a while until I'm better. I'm sure you have better things to do."

I sit up and bring my knees up to my chin.

I think about it.

"Yeah," I say, "Sure, go ahead. There's nothing for you here. I'm too weak right now."

I didn't want it to sound mean, but I think it might have.

OOC: We have to wait until we've been on this site over a month anyway.

OCC: What do you mean?

"Ok," I say as I get up. "Get well soon." As I walk out, I think. Who was the girl in my dream?

"I'll come get you when I'm better," I shout as he leaves the infirmary.

Did I sound mean? I wonder.

I bury myself in the blankets and fall asleep.

"I didn't really want you to save me," Hunter says, "But I'm glad you did. I honestly don't think you would've went on if I died."
"You're right," I admit, "You're important to me Hunter."
We're on a boat, the moon shining down on us. It's full and beautiful. I glance over at a boy with his back facing us. I can't really see what he looks like.
"Come on, #@$%&," Hunter says, though I don't catch the name, "It's hard to lose the ones you love, I know. But I promise you, she's going Elysium. She was amazing. And a great fighter. She died fighting, and that's how we'll remember her. Strong, brave, courageous. You can make it through. I promise."
She walks over to him and puts an arm around his shoulder, but he pushes it off.
"How would you know what it's like to lose someone?" he asks. Hunter stays silent. "How would you know what it's like to feel the pain of death?" She still says nothing. "Exactly. You don't, so stop speaking to me about how it's hard, and how you know. You're just a--"
"Stop!" I scream at him, "Don't yell at Hunter for comforting you! Maybe she doesn't know, but she just wants to make you feel better! Is that so bad?"
He grunts.
A dark figure floats towards us in the air. My eyes widen.
"Fury," I whisper.
Hunter and the boy back up towards me.
"What is a 'fury'?" she asks.
"No time for questions. Is that a.... knife in it's hand?" I say.
The fury moves towards us. My suspicions are confirmed. It has a knife. I unsheathe my sword and the fury comes forward faster.
"Weapons," I scream at my friends.
They get out their weapons. I take a slice at it but miss miserably. They each start trying to hit it, but its just too darn fast.
It looks me in the eye and when I think I'm doomed, it turns towards Hunter. She looks nervous and scared. The Fury raises it's knife and thrusts it down. Hunter barely dodges. The blade grazes her shoulder.
"Hunter, are you okay?" I ask.
My answer is a loud scream as she collapses.
The Fury seems proud with its work. It barely has time to react as my sword glides through it's body.
I kneel down by Hunter once the Fury turns to dust. I rip her sleeve off. Her shoulder is drenched in blood, but this blood is different. It's darker, almost black.
"Poison," I say.

I bolt upright in my hospital bed.
"Calyx!" I scream, forgetting that he's not there to answer.

I look at him. I bring my knees up to my chin again and cross my arms over my knees. I'm shivering though it's not cold, and I don't want to talk.

I nod. I can't stop thinking about that Fury, the poisoned knife. If it's really going to happen, then maybe I can try to prevent it. I know they say that messing with the future is bad, but Hunter's obviously something to me.

"I'm--" I barely manage to choke out, "I'm fine."

I want him here, but I'll only bring him down. Besides, it's probably boring just sitting around, watching some sick person.

"You can go," I say, "If you want."

"A Fury," I say, shuddering at the word, "A Fury is gonna kill Hunter. I saw it. I want to stop it. It--it looked at me, and sliced her with it's knife. It's poisoned knife. On a boat."

I hesitate.

"In the water," I say, like he's the idiot and I'm not.

I suddenly realize what he meant.

"Oh!" I shout, "I wasn't really paying attention to that."

"Um.... the boat was black, I think," I explain, "It was the shape of a rowboat, but bigger and with a little motor. The passengers were me, Hunter, and some boy. I don't know if it was you or-- do you have a sister or something?"

"What happened to her?" I ask.

I know this is hurting him, but we need facts. We need every fact we can get.

I look down. Maybe I shouldn't have asked that.

"Is there anyone else you love?" I ask. If not, he isn't the boy in my dream. "Because the boy..... he says that someone he loves died in battle. But by the way he said it, it was recently, so I don't think it's your...... sister."

I don't want to see him hurting. I shake my head.

"You don't have to say it," I say quickly.

I wouldn't like to talk about someone I love who will probably die either.

I wouldn't want to talk about it either.

"I need to know who Hunter is," I say, "My sister? No, that doesn't seem right....."
