Chris cocked an eyebrow as he shook. "What are you talking about?"
"She means we're specific targets for the Titan army," said Magnus. "Nice to know we're killed enough of those a-holes to get noticed."

"Yep.You guys were on my list before I went rouge."I said putting my hand down.I examined them once again."Its actually not really how many of them youve killed.Its based more on your parentage and how good a fighter you are."I said non chalantly.

Theos finished his drink and placed held the cup as he stood from his spot and started to slowly walk away from the party, the soft and cold sand against his feet felt wonderful as the young Demigod looked out over the water and thought about his father. With a soft sigh, and the music playing softly in the background - Theos figured he'd had enough being down on the beach, and so he walked back along the beach back towards the barbecue until he found a bin which he placed his empty cup in. Not wanting to draw too much attention to himself, Theos put his head down, placed his hands in his pocket, and walked back up towards his cabin.

Kronos.... Syn thought, frowning. Sounds...familiar
She glared at the ground, then turned and looked down the beach suddenly.
"What was that?" she asked, not realizing no one else could hear it. She stood, staring at seemingly nothing with a confused look before she started to walk.

"How good a fighter? Then I should be top of that list!" Magnus said. "Eh, just kidding. My ego ain't that big, don't worry."
Chris glanced at Syn. "Hey! Where you going? See something?"

"You don't?" she called back, continuing to walk towards dark shape in the distance that seemed to be getting closer very fast. "Over there....that shadow" she said, pointing at it as she narrowed her eyes. She stopped walking suddenly, mouth open slightly in surprise. "It's..." she started, before cupping her hands around her mouth and howling to the sky. The shadow sped up, and a sharp bark was heard as a pitch black wolf launched itself into Syn's outstretched arms. "Fal!!!"

(Sorry, I wanted her wolf back XD)

Magnus' palm instinctively filled with lightning as he sprang to his feet. He was about to fire an electric bolt before realizing that the wolf wasn't quite attacking Syn.
Chris drew the utility knife he had on him at all times, but relaxed once he saw that the wolf appeared to be a long lost friend.
"Syn? That your pet?"

Syn laughed, pushing the large wolf down. "More of like a...son" she said truthfully, her eyes not leaving the piercing ice-blue eyes of the wolf.
"Magnus, Chris, this is Fal. Fal, this is Magnus, and this is Chris" she gestured at each of the guys, smiling as the wolf bowed his head to each of them. The wolfs shoulder reached her hip, and he had a broad, powerful chest, showing that he wasn't a soft dog, but a strong and dangerous looking beast. There was a scar noticeable over his left eye, causing him to squint slightly.

I walked to them noticing the wolf wasnt a threat.I just wasnt that concerned about little threats like wolfs with these two powerful guys."Hes cute.Howd you get him?"I asked her watching the dog though not getting close.I wasnt an animal person.

Magnus grinned. "He's polite. You've been a good mom, Syn."
"Good to meet ya, buddy." Chris reached out and lightly patted Fal's head."

I smiled but stayed back.It looked kinda weird,seeing priority sevens petting a cute wolf.I wonder if I could ever get back to being that normal.Probably not.I sighed and looked toward the dance floor.I might have to bail in afew days.

"I didn't get him anywhere" she said frowning. "I helped him...about two years ago, when he was a pup" she said, smiling as Chris petted him. "Some hunters killed his family, and I stopped their dogs from killing him. Thats how he got the scar, one of the dogs went straight for his face" she sounded disappointed for a moment, her hand scratching between his shoulder blades. "He couldn't fend for himself, so I adopted him" she explained, then stared down at the wolf curiously. He seemed to speak to her, slight twitches in his body language suggesting they were both having a conversation.

Chris nodded. "You've done a great job, Syn. Talents like yours are hard to come by, even in our world of legend."
Magnus slapped the back of his neck. "Hey, mind telling these mosquitoes to back the hell off? This is the one thing I hate about summer."

Syn blushed at the compliment, looking down in embarrassment. "Thanks..." she said, smiling. She laughed, shaking her head. "Sorry, its animals, not insects that I can...talk to" she grinned. "But it seems they favor you guys a lot more than me"

Magnus fired a small lightning bolt from his fingertip, and a mosquito dropped to the sand. "Hey, I actually got one. I'm good. That'll tell 'em not to suck me dry."
"Maybe they don't bite you because you could tell a bird to eat 'em," Chris joked.

I rolled my eyes at their conversation.It had been a long time since Id done anything normal."So what else can you do?"I asked Syn.I knew what Magnus and Chris could do because it was in their files.Maybe getting some info on these campers could help pass the time away.

Syn winced slightly at the lightning bolt, she still had to get used to that. "bats are better" she said simply to Chris, hiding a small smile.
"I dunno..." Syn said to Eliza. "I haven't really had time to figure much out" she started, before her face lit up. "I know! I can see, smell, hear, and...generally sense things better" she said. "Like how their are three crabs under that rock over there, and there is a large piece of driftwood that will probably get swept ashore in five or so minutes" she said, then blushed and looked down sheepishly. "I can also hear your heartbeats" she looked away, trying not to freak them out.

Magnus, who seemed to think that was a novel ability, started jogging on the spot and shadowboxing. "Is it getting faster? Can you hear it getting faster?"
"You could be a doctor, Syn," Chris said with a smile. "Forget stethoscopes, eh?"

Syn looked at Magnus strangely, then laughed. "Yeah, slowly" she said, shaking her head. "But you making lightning is actually more effective. Your heart sounds like it skips a beat for a split second, then speeds up until you release the bolt" she explained, smiling.
"I can't be a doctor" she said simply, looking Chris in the eye. She hated discussing her fear, and hoped her piercing look would stop him from asking why. She would tell him if he asked, but she didn't want to. "But whats a stethoscope?"

Magnus proceeded to launch three large bolts into the sky, illuminating the dusk. "Really, Syn? That is very cool. I didn't know that."
"A stethoscope is a device used by modern doctors to measure heartbeat," Chris explained patiently. "We might have a few in the infirmary, but it's more of a mortal tool."

"Thats. Really. Scary" Syn said after each blast, flinching each time. "It's not really a good thing, 'cause it means your heart stops beating, then rushes to keep oxygen flowing to your brain" she added, watching him cautiously to see if he would let off more.
"You don't need stethoscopes to measure the heartbeat though..." she said, frowning. "You can just find out touching them" she said. "On your wrist, and neck" she said, shaking her head as she touched both places with her index and middle fingers. "It's more accurate too"
She glanced down at the wolf beside her, noticing his eyes flicker in the moonlight. "Yeah, I know" she said to him.

I had watched with interest throught the whole conversation.Hightened senses.The ninja training camp had a manditory class on hightening ones senses but only a small few got to take it.It was very usefull though.I looked over Syn again and decided not to put her name in my little black book.If I ever went completly bloodthristy,AGAIN, anyone in the book would be sure to die.I sighed and lokked at the ocean.I couldnt have a normal life ever huh?I frowned and clenched my fists.How I envied theses campers.

"For those of us that can't just hear heartbeat, the stethoscope is an effective tool. Trust me," Chris said.
"I'm a son of Zeus. I'm geared for lightning," Magnus responded dismissively. "No need to worry about my health in that manner. And, no offense, but fireworks are not as scary as monsters."

"You're scared of monsters?" she asked, frowning. It turned out most people she met were. "Why?" she asked, wondering if she was actually the only one who didn't mind them before glancing over at Eliza. "Are you okay?" she asked, noticing the clenched fists and slight frown. She's...upset she thought

Magnus blinked, realizing that Syn had turned the tables on him without realizing it herself. He scoffed. "Me? I...what...I am scared of nothing! I take names and kick ass, all kinds of ass, on a regular basis! I meant for average people. And of course there's something wrong with monsters! If something's out for your blood, generally you stay away from or kill them. Right?"
