Thinking Things Through [PRIVATE]

I hugged him tighter in all my agony. For some reason, he always made me feel safe and secure. We haven't been alone together in a long time, so I was thankful that we were now. Although, what if my dad didn't like me and Kai together? Even more importantly, my mom, Athena. What if Hades didn't like us together either? There were so many possibilities. Two of them included Athena and Hades getting into and argument, or blasting us to bits. I know that they're gods, but I'm sure they still are concerned for their children.

It was just at that moment that my dad opened the door. I quickly released my arms from Kai's neck. "Oh... Hi, dad."

Melina's father noticed their embrace, but acted as if it never happend. He frowned, "Dinner is ready."

I turned to Kai and nodded. We walked down the curved stairway and into the dinning room. In the middle sat a large, rectangular table. My father sat on the far end, and my step-mom sat on the end that was closer to us. That was my mom's seat... I grumbled mentally. Bordering the table were four kids, my step-siblings. Two boys sat on the left, and two girls sat on the right. The boys both had my father's shaggy, blonde hair and blue eyes, while the girls had my step-mom's straight, brown hair and brown eyes.

Still seated, Melina's father introduced the boys first. "Melina, this is Aaron and Nathaniel," He gestured his hand to them, and moved on to the girls. "And these two are Sadie and Harper. They're all the same age as you, but the girls here aren't twins, just the boys."

I nodded, and sat down at my own seat right next to Kai. I sat nervously and silent. What should I say? I hardly knew them. Something told me that this visit wasn't going to be easy. I could tell that they all had different personalities than me. And I thought just having a different parentage would be difficult enough!

I glanced at my half-siblings, then gave a piercing stare at my step-mom. My mother was supposed to be here, not her! I quickly pulled my gaze away from her. I didn't want to start any problems, or start off on the wrong foot with everyone, it's just that this was harder for me than most kids.

Melina's dad pushed his gaze torwards Kai. He thought about their hug up in the bedroom, but brought none of it up. Although, he was going to be cautious, for the sake of his daughter. "Well, Kai, is it? Where are you from, and who are your parents?"

OOC: It's the forth day, and my dragon eggs are beginning to crack! xD

BIC: I looked at Kai and nodded. I could hear the tension in his voice. I was slightly angered at my dad's question, it really got Kai on a touchy subject. "What's for dinner?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

"Pasta. We would have prepared something more festive, but we were unsure if you would choose to visit or not."

BIC:I smiled.Pasta was good.I was glad Melina had changed the subject.I hated talking about my mother.I stared around at Melina's half-siblings.

The maid came in and handed out our plates. On top laid the pasta, covered in my dad's special sauce. The pasta did look pretty good, as always. I tilted my head torwards Kai and hoped he would like it.

"So where have you been?" asked Sadie. Harper looked at Kai as if she knew we were dating. A smirk crossed her face.

"Camp," I replied.
