APOLLO CABIN

My eyes roll, and I get up on my crutches. "Fine!" I knew arguing wouldn't help my case. I smile and sit down on my bed. Laying down finally, I allow myself to close my eyes. My eyelids drooped so much from being tired, but I couldn't let myself fall asleep. Not with Katie.... I couldn't even say the word... and going to find Emily tomorrow!

As I feel a kiss on my head and my covers pulling over me, I fall asleep at once. I'd been at Camp for almost a year, but not once have I felt so warm and happy as right now. I fall asleep and have the strangest dream I've ever experienced.

I was sitting at a chair with a bowl of cereal in front of me. I look around to see where I am when I see my feet dangling under me. Not reaching the floor. The reflection in my spoon conveys my suspicions- I was a little girl again. A woman is at a stove, cooking some eggs an by the smell of it, bacon too. I didn't recognize her. Not at all, and it made me nervous. A girl about ten years old, maybe two or three years older than the girl I was now, walks in with a sullen expression on her face. "Mom," the girl says quietly. "What?" the woman answered, obviously kind of irritated. "Umm I had a dream that this young guy said that-" she stops short and thinks it through. I get up from my chair and look into her face, but she made no movement to show that she acknowledged me. I could see her clearly now. A blue-eyed girl wearing a gray-plaid skirt and a yellow blouse stood there, searching for the right words to say. "What is it, girl?" the woman asked her, not so nice this time. "He- uhh- said he was my dad." The woman looks away from her stove and gets down to the little girl's level. "Never say that again, do you understand? There is no other father. Just Daddy, okay? Your wonderful daddy who works so hard so we can buy food and let you shop for clothes, okay? Her voice was soft now, but I put my hand on the ten year-old's shoulder and try to talk to her, but she just walks through me to the table to eat the cereal there. The dream fades into a lull in the back of my brain, and the woman seems to be staring at me, repeating those words she said to my Emily. just Daddy, okay? Never say that....

My eyes fluttered open focusing on the sounds of my siblings going through their morning routines. I sat up rubbing my eyes glad I had made it through the night without puking. I checked out Alexia who seemed to be in a light doze. Hopefully she didn't have a bad dream I needed her spirits up if we were to leave by tonight. I looked out the Window "Good Morning Dad!"

As the sun rises, I wake up to the sound of Katie's bright an sparkling voice. "Morning, Katie!" I say as I try to think over the dream I saw. "Am I good to travel today?" Before I could gross anybody out, I take my crutches and rush to the girl's bathroom to get changed. I lift up and rip off the bandages from my ribs, and it looks a whole lot better. Still bruised, but the damage was done. The worst was over. There was no blood either! I throw on a blue Aerosmith t-shirt and some jean shorts as I take my crutches and wobble back to my room. With the bandages gone, I could breathe again! I go over to Katie and wait to see what she says.

I smile and get nervous when she says to walk to the door. A test. I can do this. Wobbling at first, I get up the strength to begin my trek. "I can do this. I can do this," I whisper to myself. I had to if I was gonna leave today to save Emily. I'm halfway there when I almost fall over. I cooly regain my strength as I hobble to the door and lean on it. My face was sweating, but I tried not to let her see that.

Getting my crutches back comforted me, but then her dagger was at my leg. As my barricade falls down, I feel relieved. I was free! And breakfast would be great without having a weigh on my ankle at all times. "Thanks!"

OOC: Woops I forgot the cast was on her leg xD

I checked her leg out. "It looks not the greatest but we can manage" I stod up running my hands through my hair. "I'll go get the car fueled up and everything. Can you guys grab me some breakfast or do we want to stop and a Monster Doughnut shop?"

I smile at Chris and say, "Thank you so much!" before he leaves in a hurry. Looking over at Strachan, I smile and reply as cheerfully as I can. "Going on a quest to save my sister." The reply was quick and to the point. Perfect. I pray that it would be enough or he'd ask Katie any other questions. I really just wanted to focus on that dream. She was ten. Why did I see that?

I hadn't slept all night, being as confused as I was. I turned over in the uncomfortable bunk that I had once slept on like it was a mound of pillows. My eyes were still closed, but I defiantly wasn't sleeping. When I did open my eyes, I didn't have to blink once. My eyes were naturally used to sunlight. The one problem I faced was getting out of bed. Feeling groggy, I created a ball of light to shock my senses. Since I created enough electricity, I shocked myself awake, the blanket of sleep gone. I let loose a small yawn, making my fake sleep all the more real. "Morning guys!" I whisper, trying not to wake up the other siblings. Now that I am opening my eyes, I realize just how tired I am. Jumping out of bed, I stumble, trip, and fall, only to hop back up.

I look at the food. It hadn't hit me that Katie would be leaving. Why was she leaving? I really needed to pay more attention. "Where are you going, Katie?" I straightened up, worried that I wouldn't be able to handle the cabin without Katie. Then I remembered my life before Katie. I had managed to become Cabin Leader, and run the cabin just fine. With no one else's help but my own, I had become a leader. Katie leaving would just put that to the test. I was up for a challenge. I was always up for a challenge.

I stare at Katie for a while. "Um, really?" My throat tensed off, not letting any words out. 2-3 months? How long did it take to rescue this Emily girl? Still, I didn't argue. "Well then, are you leaving right now?" I almost didn't want to let her go. She couldn't leave, but this was what she wanted to do. I had to let her go.

I watched Katie go and sighed. Well, she wouldn't die on that trip, or I had broken a swear on River Styx. And I had prayed to Dad for her safety. All of that was stupid at the time, but this was were I needed those things to work. Dad would pull through. I trusted him. "Bye Katie!" I shout, disappearing into my room. I need a good rest.

I walk out of the Cabin with Katie and let her go herself. She'd need some alone time before we were stuck together for so long. I sit on the steps of our Cabin and eat the bagel Chris so graciously got for me. While I'm eating, I think about how we'd even find where she was or how I could help her do something to help with this quest. It makes me shake with fear, but I had to think of the day she was sent away. Some clue to where she was. The social worker's words... I had blocked them out for so long, but now I allow it to seep back into my sub-conscience and eventually into my immediate thoughts.

"We'll first take her to a home for troubled kids in Missouri. She can get better and see professionals who will fix her, there. Then, she'll come back to stay at the Miami Orphanage until she finds a home. Don't worry, Lizzie. Your daughter will be fine."

After I overheard the woman say that, my "dad" held me back as they took her away in a black car. I tried to run after her, but I was stuck in his firm grasp. She was screaming in her car, but the woman kept driving away, away, away. Elizabeth, my mother,- I swore never to call her my mother after that day-, took me to my room and said that Em was a "bad kid" and never to refer to her again. All certificates from school were burned. Pictures shredded. At school the next day, none of my friends acted as if anything was different. I know now that it was the Mist.

I crested the hill intent on finding my car which I was almost certain some Hermes kid decided to go on a joyride. When I saw my dream car. A fiery yellow lamboraghini was parked at the bottom of the hill. My jaw almost literally hit the ground. A guy inhis mid twenties with abridge orange t shirt was leaning against it giving me a grin I had seen only twice before. "Dad?" I questioned. The guy nodded placed a note on the windshield and disappeared. "SETH, ALEXIA" I yelled back towards the camp still stunned by my new car.
