APOLLO CABIN

"Cool." Jake reaches and shakes his hand.

"yeah, so you like music, what else do you know?" I asked him. I moved back to the piano.
"Hale, do you know any Regina Spektor songs?" I asked

"Hey Alex, how old are you" Jake asked.
OOC: Im sorry I cant think of antlything else to say.

"I'm 14. My birthday is December 14." Jake looked around the room. Hale was still playing songs. "Are you an Apollo kid too?" He asked Alex.

I stare at Jake. I didn't recognize him, so I needed to introduce myself. "I'm Hale Drem, son of Apollo, age 12. I'm the cabin leader here," I look around my cabin as I end my sentence, taking it all in. "You aren't an Apollo kid right. I would think I would know you." I try to find out who he is, but it just wouldn't come to me. Jake . . . Jake who? I sure hoped he didn't see my confusion. Looking to Alex for help, I wait.

I look at Hale and shrug. I honestly didn't know. Jake was harder to read, unlike an Aphrodite or Zeus kid. I scratch the back of my neck.

I shrug. "You're supposed to know your siblings," I correct. Maybe these guys weren't used to it, but I had learned the name of all 34 of my cousins. I had learned the name of all of the "popular" wannabes, trying to keep them happy. I had even learned the name of all of the kids in the grade younger than mine. I had to know my people, or else I couldn't be a good leader, and being Cabin Leader was just a step up.

"well I guess so, but i have been here for quite a while and I still dont know everyones name. I geuss I just dont find it important, as long as I know my friends names, and some important campers, then I think that is enough, at least for me." I replied. I began pacing as I was talking, lots of things going through my mind

I narrow my eyes for a split second, then open them. I didn't feel angry, but back in school, if someone questioned the popular kids, we would give them "the look" and cause others to shun them. No one wanted the look, and the look was a part of me. Camp was really good for me. "Oh! Yeah! I understand!" My acting was better now, as I was around tons of talented Greeks. I could so fake it, and fake it well!

I stopped pacing and turned to look at Hale. "Do you really understand?" I asked. I didnt knowif he was serious or not. I started pacing again, I didnt know if Hale was my friend or not, but he was definately an important camper seeing as he was the leader of my cabin.

I nod vigorously, still acting. "Of course, there really are a lot of campers. How could I possibly except anyone to know all of them." I hang my head, normally short but currently shaggy hair hanging in my face. Whew! I needed a shower! How long had it been since I took one? Four days, and a thick layer of cologne. That's how long.

"thats what I was saying." I replied. I sat down in the chair, thinking. "I have a serious question to ask you Hale." I said, I waited till he replied before I continued. "with the upcoming war and all, what do you think you will do, and what are we supposed to de, I mean as a cabin.?" I asked him

I avoid making eye contact, preferring the warm glow of the sun over the cold of someone's eyes. "Well . . . I mean . . . The cabin needs to do nothing except practice as I have said. We need to be able to work together as a team, with everyone. That includes Aunt Artemis' Hunters. I know we can't stand them, but it's true. We are family, and together we are stronger. As for me? What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger." I leaving it at that, letting him decide what it meant, was one of my many skills.

"what doesnt kill you makes you stronger." I repeated. "Yeah right, thats for sure. When do you think we are gonna have to put our practice to use?" I asked him.

I squint my eyes and squish my eyebrows together. "I'm not exactly sure. I just know that all of the cabin leaders are worried about something. We haven't lost many campers . . . at least from our cabin. But who knows about the others? I do, I guess. The numbers aren't pretty. We just have to be ready. Are you ready?" I ask Strachan. I guess he was my friend, but, did I know him well enough to call him a friend?

"Im ready as I'll ever be, when the time does come. Im sure we will be able to do what we need to do, when we need to do it. But Im worried about having to face it." I replied

-Happyface walkes in, droppes her bag and a small 15 amp on the floor. Turns around.
