Upon having the bombshell hypothesis confirmed, it took Chris a few seconds to form a coherent sentence. "Katie...you can't possibly think now is a good time to have a kid! You're a teenager, and we're in the middle of an Olympian war! Jeez...this is gonna end badly. I know it."

"Extra packaging. What a charming way to put it," Chris muttered, still stunned. "And what if the war's not over by the time you're supposed to have the kid? You're gonna be laying in the infirmary giving the medics one person with extremely special and pressing needs that must be addressed! How do you picture that's gonna go down? And what if you get badly hurt sometime down the road and the baby doesn't survive? A better time, Katie, would probably be after Kronos is back in Tartarus!"

Chris sighed, shaking his head. "I don't agree, but I'm not gonna try and stop you. I'm crippled right now-I couldn't anyway." He gave a small, brief grin at his own jibe. "But let's just say this is a bit of a bombshell you dropped, and pardon me if I react strongly, okay?"

Chris gave Katie a weird look. "I didn't exactly mean you'd be a weight dragging everyone down, but a girl's fighting ability tends to be hampered when she's got a swollen belly with a baby inside. And when she goes into labour, that fighting ability is further reduced. Plus how many of our medics are trained in childbirth? Really, Katie, these are all facts, and you can't get mad at me for stating them."

I broke down in tears at the blunt truth of his words "I'm not backing down" I managed between sobs "If I die because of this then fine, But All of you promise me you'll try and save my child."

Chris pursed his lips, all of a sudden feeling kind of bad. "Listen Katie, I...I guess I could have been a bit nicer with that. I'm sorry. But regardless of what happens, we'll do everything we can to save your kid. I swear on the Styx."

"I too, will swear on the Styx. I will not let this baby come to harm, so long as I can help it." I closed my eyes to say a silent prayer. Please, do anything you can to help us keep this promise, Dad. I reached out for Katie's hand, rubbing the back of it softly.

I look around, not knowing what to say. I was young, and glad that Katie had tried to keep this from me. "Katie, nothing is going to touch you." I narrow my eyes, staring he down. "I will try to protect your child, trust me, I swear on the River Styx, but you are higher on my list. I swear on the River Styx that you will not die under my power." I glare at her, sort of angry. My mind was set. Katie wouldn't die. If the enemy demigods came, they would get what they wanted. They would have me dead, not Katie. But I wasn't going to let her know that.

I hunched over coughing up some blood "Oh gods that is really not good.." i say starting to freak out a bit and I start getting panicky. "What have I done wrong oh mi gods so worried..."

"Hey, whoa!" Chris moved forward with remarkable speed considering he was on crutches, and came to a stop beside Katie. "Calm down. You're alright. Guys, think we should get her to the infirmary?"

I stood up, and moved over to Katie, I grabbed her under the arm to support her, "Can you walk, youre going to the infirmary." I said. "Chris, you need to saty here, and get some more rest. Im sorry if we woke you. OK Lets go." I said again to katie as I helped her towards the door.
