Mirror of Archimedes

"You don't need money when there's a window." I reply. I point to window, on the other side of the cash so the owner won't see us. Since I feel bad about stealing, I only have a few days worth of food, plus items from our first day. The window's locked, so I cut the lock off with my knife-bangle, and we slip outside.

"Good job with the tent set freddie, It'll be better than sleeping on the ground. Anyways, lets head off towards the church. It's over there, but we'll have to be careful, it's still in use." I explain to him while setting off to the Jamestown Church.

"It's just a regular old mirror shard, except it should be inside a special design. I show him a picture of it. It's Archimede's symbol. A circle inside a pentagon, inside another circle. We walk in and see a few old priests lighting candles at the alter. begin searching frantically with my eyes trying to spot the shard before a priest notices us.

I look over to where he was pointing. There was a little out-of-place shard in a man's face. I look closer, and it had a circle inside it, with a pentagon, and another circle. It was the piece that was part of his eye. I look back at the preists and they still seemed distracted. "If one of us could distract them, the other could probably get the shard." I suggest to Freddie.

I run up to the window while the priests are distracted. I could just throw something at it to break it, but I'd rather not cost hundreds of dollars of damage to the church. Instead I jump on the window sill, and turn my bangle into two knives. i use the one in my right hand to carefully cut the shard out.

The shard falls into my bag, and Freddie and I stroll out as if nothing ever happened. "Wow, I expected THAT to be a little harder." (<.<) We stroll towards our horses and a piece of paper blows into my face. I pull it off and study it.

The piece of paper that came to me turned out to be a sketch of an automoton. It had no scale though, so I had no idea how big it was. "This time I have no clue. I guess we should head back to camp or maybe even back to the fort we started this quest at to find a final clue." I reply. "I say we should go to the fort. It would look bad if we returned with only four fifths of the quest done."

"Looks like nothing, just a scrap of paper with a technical drawing. See." I show Freddie the paper. It's just a man in armour. We walk to the pegasi, and begin to fly away. I start to think of where in the world the last peice would be, maybe the white house or lincoln memorial, when I hear several loud thumps and clanks from the east.

I look over to where he points. To the east, there is a 25 foot tall mamoth automoton. He wears a classic greek bronze breastplate, hoplon greaves, a long-haired corinthean helmet and a "short" sword. Short being in relative terms, since it's about twice my height. "I- I think that's Talos over there." I reply to Freddie. I look closely at his breastplate and notice a triangular thing sticking out. "And I think he has our last shard." I say. I begin to think of ways the two of us can beat this metal monster before he notices us.

"Well we'd have to get it sometime." I reply. We fly towards Talos and begin to attack. I touch the bangle on my arm and it turned into the two-handed sword. A little cumbersome, but it'll have to do. Dodgeing Talos' sword is easy, but the hard part is damaging him. Our attacks barely do anything. Plus Hephestus must've "souped him up" recently, because his left armis attached to a chain on his wrist so he can shoot it off and it also has a flame thrower in it.

I grinned, "Well, how are we going to take out this guy?" I asked, out of ideas already, considering none had come to mind.There was a thought nagging at the back of my mind, but I couldn't get it out.

OOC: Whats his voice supposed to remind him of?

I'm trying to remember the legend Talos, how Jason killed him on his way home. I remember being dissapointed on how anti-climactic the ending was. "I've got it!" I shout. "Freddie, in the story, Talos was stabbed somewhere and he bled to death. I can't remeber where the weak point was though! Maybe you can! I'll distract him while you think!" I shout to Freddie. Just then Talos swings his sword and barely misses me. "AND HURRY!" I add. I begin to do laps around his head and body, swinging where I can, and dodgeing his hand, flamehrower, and sword.

"THAT'S IT! THANKS!" I shout back. "Quick, you go after it, I,ll keep him distracted again!" I yell again, hoping he hears me. I begin doing a series of laps around his head, beating it with my sword the first chance I get. My arm is getting tired though from holding it one handed, and I know I'll have to stop soon.
