Hazel Holliman: Who wants to sneak out?

I walked down to the lake wearing a my orange CHB tee-shirt and Jean shorts. I was really bored. I've been at camp for three years and never got a quest. Suddenly I had a brilliant idea. Sneak out. But who with? I didn't have many friends here and I had no clue where they were. I figured two or three other people would do. "Anyone wanna sneak outa camp?" I called.

I looked up from my book, this girl was obviously not very smart. "Sneek out?" I asked. "Why would I do that? It's perfictly fine here at camp..."I continued.

"Ummmmm why not?" I scoffed. "I don't know about you but I've been in camp for THREE years and I haven't gotten a quest. All I do is train, train, train. BO-ring." I added snobbily. I wasn't one of those bratty kind of Aphrodite kids. Just a moderately irritated one. Like, how could she know what I felt like?

"Well," I said, doggy earing my book and closing it. "I've been here for two years, and I haven't gotten a quest yet either." I stood up and walked over to the girl, holding out my hand "Brooke Wagner, daughter of Athena. It's nice to meet you." This girl didn't seem to nice, but it's better to introduce yourself than yell...right?

Despite the sudden urge I had to snarl something at her, I shook her hand. She just got me on a bad day. I wasnt usually like this. "Hazel Holliman. Daughter of Aphrodite."

When Hazel told me she was a daughter of Aphrodite, it suited her attitude. "You know," I said. "If you want a quest so bad-why don't you just ask Chiron? It's not that hard. And if he say's no, then try again some other day." It wasn't like me to go out, telling people what to do but she was getting on my nerves.

Now she was annoying me. "Uh, ring-a-ding-ding. I already did. Chiron told me there was no reason for a quest," I growled.

"Mabey he dosn't think your ready for a quest yet, it's a tough world out there." I replied. Hazel wasn't making this easy for me.

I put my hands on my hips. Why wouldn't I be ready for a quest? I thought. I've battled and beaten monsters before. I have alot of experience with a sword. I can charmspeak. "I am ready for a quest!" I practically yelled. I didn't know why, but this was setting my nerves on edge.

I held in my smile and began to sit down again, satisfied at what she had said. "My father once told me." I said. "Patience grasshopper." I continued, letting out my smile.

"Your impossible," I grumbled. "If you didn't wanna come, You didn't have to say that. You could have not answered. So just mind your own business, Athena girl, or expect to wake up with spiders in your bed!"

As soon as Hazel mentiond the word spiders, I felt them practicly crawling around me, I was itchy all over, but I tried to hide it. She was fairly smart for a daughter of Aphrodite. "Tell me, were would you go if you did sneak out? Chiron's bound to send some one out to get you back."

"The mall," I said. "And Chiron wouldn't even know I was gone. I have darkness powder from the Hecate cabin, so nobody would see Me sneak out.

I sigh. Was she trying to keep me from having fun. I guess it was time to tell her why I really wanted to go. "Fine. My friend Ally, went to the mall with a few people. And she ended up getting a quest because of it," I huffed. "They discovered there were so many monsters in the area, that the monsters must be looking for something. So they have to find it before them," I explained.

"Really? I have a hard time believing you...but if you REALLY would like to sneak out, go ahead-no one's stopping you." I guess I was stopping her, I thought. But she didn't have to listen to me. It's not like I'm the one running camp.

"Yes, really," I said. "If you dont believe Me, she's on a quest with a girl named Izzy, Bella Harris, Kat Jones, Kat Deena, and Seth Motega. But I'm not going out into the real world alone. I know better than that."

"I guess." At least she was giving Me some advice. "But I'd be happy to tale anyone," I say. Even a kid of a minor god nobody knows about. It didn't matter to Me. As kong as it was fun.

Instead of having a spasm like I usually would, and asking why I wasnt smart enough, I just asked with a smile, "Well, do you wanna come?" It wasn't in a sarcasm way--I actually wanted her to come.

"Oh, alright." I gave a crooked smile. "You know, you really should consider coming. I can garuntee that nobody will catch us." I tried to charmspeak her. I was hoping she would come. She seems like my type of friend. And I hoped she wouldn't freak out on Me if she could resist my charm speaking. I mean, it wasn't as powerful as some other Aphrodite kid's, but it was pretty compelling.
