I was walking out of the armory wiping my hands with a rag, getting rid of the lubricating oil from when i finished cleaning my Falchion. "Not doing that again." I muttered, i exited the armory and noticed a girl, with long and curly dark brown hair, brown eyes with two unique tints to them. She's kinda cute, and about an inch taller than me, which made me smile a bit before my facade slid back on, wearing a camp shirt with dark coloured pants. i'd say that they were almost black. "Need something repaired or made?" i asked her a little roughly. 'How come i haven't noticed her here before?' i thought.

I sit with my back against the armory wall, as I often do. It's warmth reminds me of my home, and makes me feel less homesick. I'm deep in thought, and I don't notice a person come up to me.
I jump a little in surprise when I hear the boy speak. Standing up quickly, I notice that I'm an inch taller than him, and smile internally about that. He had dark hair and eyes similar to mine, though his were more green than mine. My face is emotionless. "Ah, no. I like to sit here," I reply silently hoping I used the right tenses.

"I see then. Well if it makes you feel good, then by all means continue doing what you're doing." i replied puling out my lighter before flicking the top open and lighting it. My smile breaks trough the shell i put up and i wave my hand over the fire, closing my eyes in euphoria when the heat rolls through me. "I forgot about the warmth of family, never had anyone after a couple of things happened in my past." I murmur, but loud enough for her to hear. I snap my lighter shut and lean against the wall, all with my eyes closed "I lost my mom when i was five and have been here ever since." i mutter sadly, before grabbing the katana on my left shoulder, and pulled it out, running my thumb along the edge. i curse when i realize that the blade is dull. "Need to sharpen this." i murmur before dropping to the ground and pulling a whetstone out of my toolbelt. i began running it along the blade's edge sharpening it.

I watch him before sitting back down with my back against the wall again. I listen to him speak, understanding most of what he said, but some other parts were confusing me. I don't let him know that though, pulling my legs up to my chest quietly. As he spoke of his mother, I think about how my own mother was killed, but I can't decide whether to tell him about her or not. Because I can't decide, I stay silent.

"All i rember is walking into my mom's autoshop and seeing her body, ripped in half down the middle thrown to the oppisite side of one another, and a giant one eyed creature, then black. nothing more nothing less." I state hearing no reply from her, as tears fogged my eyes. "Damnit. i promised myself i would wear a mask... now its cracking." i laughed dryly. 'I don't care any more, i simply don't, she couldn't be as damaged as me can she?' i mused sheathing my katana. i put my whetstone back in my belt. "Then, i woke up from the blackness and found my mother toolbelt, which i put on and ran off, lived for a couple of years on the streets, then came the year of the dragon, after two years, i was usurped. i made my way here after the usurping" I said, clearly no longer caring any more.

"I do not understand half of what you're saying, I'm sorry. English is my second language," I say with a sigh. I looked at my knees as I begin speaking. "I do understand what you said about your mother... I know how you feel. I did not see it, but my mother was... I can't remember the word. A man made her die. I came here after that." After I say that look over at you for a moment before looking down at my knees again. I don't like talking about my mother, especially because I can't remember the right words sometimes.

"i ain't judgin' ya, just telling you 'bout my past. Working with metal is my fist language, english is my second. i grew up building stuff. Have been ever since." i reply, wiping my eyes. 'Never really had a friend, maybe... Nah don't want it.' i thought i reached into my toolbelt and pulled Copper, Tin, Alluminum and iron out. i started moving my hands, shaping the metals through my heat. when i finished i had made a lumber axe. i groaned and slammed the back of my head against the wall. "I hate that, and the word you're lookin for, is killed. and i don't speak to my siblings, any of 'em, so i've grown distant... but i don't truly care. all i care about is protecting every one i can, even if i die for it. Name's Natsu Ironsmith, weird name if you ask me but my first name means Summer in japanese, too girly to." i state, hoping to get her name.

"My name is Luzia Moreno. I'm from Portugal. English is hard to learn. I forget the right words and the right order to say them," I reply, resting my head on my knees and wrapping my arms around my legs. "Às vezes eu desejo que todos sabiam Português então eu não teria que traduzir tudo na minha cabeça antes de eu dizer isso." I say it in Portuguese because it's too difficult to explain in English.

Translation: Sometimes I wish that everyone knew Portuguese so I would not have to translate everything in my head before I say it.

"a friend of mine once told me this, 'When we clash our blades, it speaks volumes to me. It tells me your fears, strengths, weakness's, abilities, and goals in life. You can also learn more about some one when you fight them.' Course i don't believe it, but hey it could be true." i said tugging on my muffler. "now, i do believe that a machine is a calling my name and a sword needs a making. So iff you'll excuse me i have some item to take care of." i said, roughly while pushing myself up off the wall.

I watch you get up silently, but as you start to leave I say, "I thought you said you never had a friend. Did I not understand you, or was it something else?" I look up at you and smirk a little, finding your little slip up amusing. I could be wrong though, and if I was, that would certainly put a damper on my mood. I had been in a bad mood earlier, missing home quite a bit, but talking to you lightened things up, mostly because you are shorter than me and because you had contradicted yourself.

i stopped dead when she said that. I looked at her a dumfounded expression crossing my face."Friends can get you killed, last one i had usurped me. So sorry if i seem untrusting right now." i replied tugging on my muffler. "I itch for friendship, and what not, but i don't want to get screwed over at the same time. Don't know why, and i really could care less about the reason." i tugged at my muffler again. i was getting anxious. "Want to see what i'm working on?" I asked suprising myself.

My smirk turns into a smile. He seemed to be getting anxious, which was funny. Then he asked if I wanted to see what he was working on and I was extremely surprised. No one ever really wanted to 'hang out' with a child of Hades. Perhaps he was asking because he didn't know who my godly parent was. I stand up and look down at him. "You know I'm a daughter of Hades?" I ask looking a bit confused. That didn't sound quite right, but I couldn't remember the right way to phrase it.

"Wait? You're a child of the god of the underworld? i don't care actually. Kids of Melione scare the crap outta me though." i reply when i hear who her god parent is. "I'm a child of Fire and Metalworking. Hephaestus. So we going to see my latest creation or what?" i tugged at my muffler again, then sniffed it 'Mom, Thank you.' I thought breathing in the scent of Ash, and my mothers scent, the scent of roses. I looked at Luzia expectantly... kinda like a puppy looking for a treat.

My smile returns and I stand up on my tip toes for a moment before going back down. "Yes. While we do that, you can explain what 'usurped' means. I have not heard that word yet," I state. You keep saying that word, but I haven't heard it before, so I've been confused every time you've used it. I've gotten the basic idea of what you've been saying, but that word just... I haven't heard it before. What can I say? I'm glad you don't mind my father being who he is. Other people have thought my siblings and I were creepy, and that makes it difficult to make friends.

i tilted my head and grinned "Usurped means overthrown." i said as we walked into the armoury. I looked around a bit before my eyes fell on the giant sword i was making. "This beauty right here, is what i'm making. It's a giant sword about Seven feet long but weighs 100lbs... however the blade keeps snapping, so i can't really get it done, i may toss it into the bin of unfinished products. i said sheepishly. i scratched the back my head nervously, then sat on my desk.

"Why so heavy? How could someone use it if they can't pick it up? It is almost heavier than I!" I exclaim as I study the sword, unaware that I probably should have said me instead of I. I don't know much about metal or sword making. I use a dagger, so I'm not even that familiar with swords at all, but I do know that being able to lift a weapon is probably a good idea. "Is the weight why it snaps? Can you make it lighter but keep it the same length?" I ask, looking back at you.

i shook my head sadly. "I'm following my blueprints, so i cant really make it lighter, yet..." i broke off suddenly before turning around, grabbing the blueprints and writing, very messily, i might add. 'Lighten the weight of the hilt and guard.' "Oh thank you!! Lighten the hilt i kept thinking the blade must be too heavy when in reality, whenever i swung the blade down it always snapped where the hilt meets the blade! Oh that's fantastic, i should've though of that sooner!" i shouted jumping up and down like and idiot.

I chuckle a little at your reaction. Your hopping seemed childish, but I still think you're a funny little person. You're not that little, but when you're hopping up and down you certainly seem like you are. Where did that roughness when we met go? Not that I miss it, of course, but you're not acting like the same person at all. That's okay. While on that train of thought, I realize that you're the first person to get me to laugh at all in a long time. I can't remember the last time I felt happy. I feel content now though, so it must be you that put me in this mood. I don't realize that I've been silently watching you jump as I thought.

I stopped jumping like an idiot."Ya know, if I try, I could make it so that there's a button on the hilt, anbd the blade springs out. Then the hilt is heavier with the blade in it and then, lighter when the blade comes out." I reply. i set the sword down and start pulling metals out of it to recreate the sword. "This is the first time i ever got inspiration from talking to someone!" i say excitedly. i start melding Iron and Bronze together to make the hilt. "almost there... Got it!" i mutter as i finish the hilt but leave room for the blade and button.

"If the blade is very long, how will it fit in the hilt? Would it not have to collapse to a short length?" I ask as I watch you work. I'd never thought much about weapons before. My dagger was a gift, so I didn't even choose anything about it, but it really was interesting, like a puzzle. I'm enjoying this. You're excitement is contagious.

"I’ll make the blade shrink in on itself. It will fit in the hilt that way." i reply, splitting the hilt and then start the button. I finish the button and insert it into the hilt. I weld the hilt together again and press the button causing a whir and clunk to sound off. "Perfect." i mutter. I start working on the blade, by making it in parts. As I finish it off i then sit the blade on my desk standing up and watch it collapse in on itself. My face splits into a wide grin. I split the hilt again and insert the blade, connecting the button to the blade via wiring. I then weld the hilt together once again. I press the button and it followed by a whir, clunk and a series of clicks as the blade ejects itself from the hilt. "YES! I got it!" I shout in excitement.

I watch you work with fascination. I spend most of my time with my siblings, and none of them can do that sort of thing. They can only really do things with darkness and death. As you work, the shadows in the room get lighter as I subconsciously controlling them to reflect my mood.
"Congratulations," I reply, giving you a small smile. "What will you do with it now?"

"Don't know. Probaly sell it to an Ares Camper or keep it, havent decided yet." I reply. I look at the shadows and see them nearly gone. "Interesting ability ya got there. I can melt metal to the point where I can shape it into anything you need." I say happily. I move to the bellows, grab the handle before jumping up and then falling down, pumping the bellows full of air , heating the dying coals of the fire.

"The people in my city thought I was strange. If I had had six older siblings, they would have said I was a witch," I say in reply to the comment about my powers. That superstition was old and not believed in anymore, but I had felt certain that they'd be willing to bring it back because of my unusual attraction to shadows. They were modern people in an old city, but when your mom works with dead bodies and you like shadows more than humans, people talk.

"That's... Interesting to say the least." I reply, a bit confused, but nonetheless excited. "So, What now?" I ask, as I clearly don't know what to do.
