I scramble up the rock wall, careful not to touch the lava. As I reach the top, I gaze down, seeing almost the whole camp as I look down. Watching the world for what I hoped would be the last time, I leap off the top.
I hoped I could say that I found myself, that I understood something about me. That isn't true. All I felt was air. Pure air. A few drops of lava soared through the air onto my skin, but I hardly felt it. What would that matter when I would be dead in a matter of minutes? You're probably wondering why I am attempting suicide. I decided to because, I just don't have anyone special in my life. Nobody to talk to, nobody to express my feelings to. I'm a demigod, I'm going to die anyway, might as well make it quick. My body is about fifteen feet from the ground, getting closer and closer each minute. I close my eyes and think "Let it be over quick."

Ok, so here's the scoop.

I'm not this hero guy who'd be Superman, and go around saving people. Sure, Superman's got a girl, actually a lot, but I wasn't that type. So what was going through my head when I saved that girl? How the hell should I know?

I was watching people, thinking of how I could pull a serious prank on some climbing camper. I was calculating things in my head, while people started yelling. I scoffed. Someone probably fell. Then, I actually took the consideration to look.

A girl had jumped off the wall. On purpose. Honestly, I thought someone would try to save her. But no one stepped forward. She kept falling, and falling. Were people really this wicked? Falling, falling, falling...

I ran. I ran towards the girl at just the right time, and caught her. Well, sort of. The momentum of the fall caused me to fall while catching her. Of course, I wasn't dead, and she wasn't dead. But we were both injured.

I looked at the girl closer, since she was now on top of me, her face on my chest. Really, with the spots in my vision, all I was thinking was, I just saved this girls ass.

The girl had chestnut brown hair, and was wearing the kind of clothes I wear. Well, similar, I don't wear leggings or nothing like that. "Hey," I said. Talking sent a fresh wave of pain through me, and I winced. "You alive, right?"

I scoffed, but weakly. "Uh, yeah, I think so," I mutter, looking the other way. I feel puzzled about him. He saved me, when no one else would. People would yell, people would scream, but not one of them would run up and attempt to catch me. I start to feel the full pain of the lava splashes, but before I black out I make a realization. "Holy crap... this dude saved my life."

Great, she'd blacked out, and I was pretty close myself. Someone lifted the girl onto a gurnie, and then me. I really didn't want it, but I couldn't really move.

๏LATER AT THE INFIRMARY๏

I woke up it the Infirmary, and I felt a tad woozy. "Nothin' to cry over," I mumbled as I sat up. Now I was a lot more than a TAD woozy. "Jesus!" I hissed. Gods, the pain was terrible. My ribs felt like crap, and so did my head.

I looked to my right, and saw the girl I had saved. Good she was alive. I would be pissed if she'd died, and I broke some ribs for nothing.

I wake up, blood lightly matting my curly dark hair. I sigh, and look over to the bed on my left. There, I see the boy who caught me. It musta been hell for him,breaking some ribs just to save me. I vaguely lift a hand and murmur "I'm Jessica. There's no other way to say this, but thank you."

I huffed, and then grimaced. I didn't know if it was exactly healthy for me to be talking and moving around so much, but then again, had I ever done anything good for me?

I let out a sigh as I realize I have a deep burn in my leg. It doesn't really hurt, but still, it's an ugly cut. "Nice to meet you, Commet." I struggle to sit up completely, and open a random book on my nightstand. Gregor the Overlander, it's called. I sigh once again and start to read, with gazes at Commet every few minutes.

I didn't know why she kept looking at me, so I ignored it. I supposed she was a little suprised that a dude who looked like me had saved her. And honestly, I was suprised too.

I looked at the little side table by my bed. There were a few books, but I wasn't the reading type. Then, there was a pen, and some paper. I knew it could bring up an unwanted conversation, but it was the only thing of intrest to me.

I picked up the paper and the pen, and started writing a poem.

I gazed over at Commet, to see he was writing a poem. I say "Whatcha writing there?"
I put down the book, and sit more upright. I grab a sketchbook by my bed, and quickly sketch a flower. I wasn't trying to show off, but it was rather good. I sigh once more, and turn the page to draw more.

I ripped out the page containing my unfinished poem, and slapped the notebook shut. "Nothing," I replied coldly. "I'm not writing anything." I set the notebook and pen back on the table, and ripped up the poem, throwing it in the garabage next to my bed.

I mumble to myself. She seemed hurt, but why should I care? Oh, yeah. It was my fault. I shook my head, dismissing it. I sat, staring up at the ceiling. I gingerly touched my bangs where they covered my blind eye. I sighed. Why had this happened to me?

I drag Commet along, running to my favorite place in the world. It's a whole alley, except flooded with sunlight, and many shops with amazing things. As we finally reach the square, I run into a small cafe. It's not girly or anything, just a cafe with brown walls, and a few paintings. I grin at him. "Ya like it?"

So much of the food was so basic. It was so simple, and perfect.

I didn't know how much time I had been spending looking at all the stuff, but I felt a kick. "Yeah. I'll take the Caramel Mocha, milk chocolate, hold the fatty milk, add skim, a dot of whipped cream, some extra sweetener, and make it snappy." It was a new record time for me ordering something complicated, and the waitress was frazzled, trying to jot down my order.

"Oh, and one slice of cheese pizza," I add.

I roll my eyes. Without anyone seeing, I lightly stomp on his foot. It would probably hurt, because I'm wearing combat boots. As our food arrives,I tear my jaws into the burger, only stopping to take a sip or two of coffee.

It hurt when she stomped on my foot, but I laughed anyways.

Our stuff came, and the first thing I did was chug down my Mocha. It was a hell of a good coffee. I was done, and I wiped my mouth on the back of my hand.

The pizza wasn't as good, since this was more of a coffee place. But it was still good.
