"You think I'm embarrassed to be who I am?" Genevieve asked, her emotions changing now. She looked uo at Keller. "Do you think I'm ashamed of my siblings?" She looked away now. "I love them. I couldn't ask for better people to talk to." She paused for a moment. "You wouldn't get it though. Your siblings, my siblings, all of us. We have apsolutely nothing in common." It hadn't been something Genevieve expected Keller to get. He may have had that intelligence, but he didn't have the understanding she needed.

Keller raised his hands in surrender at her sudden out-burst. "Did I suggest you were ashamed? No, I was just stating that I wasn't ashamed of my siblings." He snapped, his anger starting to expand out of his hands. "Jeez, keep your hair on. No need to have a go at me when I didn't even do anything wrong." He put his arms down, folding his arms across his chest. "But yeah, you're right, we don't have anything in common. None of us do. You wouldn't understand what its like being rejected or lost confidence because of your appearence. You wouldn't know what its like being cheated on or used." He told her, knowing what each of those felt like. "So dont go acting like your life is so tough and that mine is perfect."

"You got me started!" she snapped back. "You made me start talking. You're lying to me and yourself. You want to think that everyone but you has this perfect little life. I'm not the one saying that. It's you." Genevieve dug her nails into her own hands, not being able to stop herself from talking. "You put yourself down all the time, saying your turning into your dad and you know what, maybe you are. Keep acting the way you are, complaining and crap, you might as well." She was speaking before she had thought.

Keller froze, not saying the string if arguments that had formed in his head. Instead, his hands balled up into fists and he had to work hard to control his anger. After two minutes of deep breaths, he stood up angrily, kicking the picket basket really hard with his bare foot. He ignored the slight pain, glaring down at Genevieve. "You know, you are like your siblings. Exactly like them. I knew you would be. Just hoped you would be the only one in your cabin that wasnt a whore. Guess I was wrong." He spat, not meaning what he was saying yet his anger had got the better of him.

Genevieve stopped breathing for what felt like a minute. "Fine," she said as calmly as possible. Her tears started coming. Genevieve stood up, grabbing her clothes and pulling hershirt on ovwr her head. Slipping on her shoes, she started walking away, back to her cabin. Tears streaming down her face now. "Whatever. o do whatever you want to do. Rage, punch your brothers in the face. I don't care! Just leave me alone." she didn't even look over her shoulder.

Keller groaned, running shaking hands through his tousled hair. "Genevieve." He groaned, forcing his still fading anger not to come out in his voice or expression. He left his own clothes and stuff on the sand, running forward and grabbing Genevieve's arm gently, stopping her. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean that. It just...came out." He tried to explain, not doing a very good job. "I don't really think that."

Genevieve ripped her arm awah from Kellers grasp. "Don't touch me," she almost whispered. "I don't care what you think, I just care that you said it. I'm not saying I'm not sorry. I am! Your just-" she couldn't come up with a word that described it. She just really wanted to walk awah now, but Keller was right there and he'd only follow. She was still crying, trying to breath normally which was a bit hard.

Keller went to oull her into a hug, trying to confort Genevieve but dropped his arms at his sides, looking down at his shaking hands. This was ridiculious. How could he have gotten himsellf into something like this? Getting himself in was easy, getting himself out of trouble was the hard bit. "Im just...what?" He asked flatly, wanting to know what she was going to call him. Whatever it was, he deserved it.

Genevieve bit her lip and crossed her arms, finally feeling the full wrath of the cold weather. "I don't know," She said softly. "Intimidating?" It wasn't the right word. She knew it wasn't fitting it well. She didn't want to be cruel anymore either. She had been mean enough. At the moment she just wanted to cry in peace, without anyone bothering her, because she knew everything Keller said was true.

Intimidating? Keller could think of some stronger words that he called himself on a regular basis that would most likely would've suited him better. His brown eyes looked slowly back up at her. "Isn't everyone at this stupid camp intimidating?" He asked Genevieve quietly. "Or do you mean that I am a bullying jerk? Because thats the choice of words that people tend to use." He shrugged, trying to seem fine with it whereas inside, he felt like he was going to cry. Oh Gods, dont let me cry in front of her, Keller thought silently.

Genevieve rubbed her neck. "No-I-I," she tried to say, but she couldn't get anything out. She suddenly wanted to start ripping her own hair out. "I can't talk about this." Genevieve's voice was almost down to a whisper. "Not like this, when you barely seem to care." She started walking away again. It made her cry harder when she thought about how many times she left a guy standing on the beach. She knew Keller was different though. He'd either come after her, or continuously be persistent later. Maybe she should give up on romance all together. Her mother obviously hated hers. She'd end up being some sort of lonely person or teacher for pre-schoolers in some part of the city or maybe something more fitting. According to most guys she should be some sort of stripper at a dance club. That'd work, but it made Genevieve stop in her tracks. She didn't look back but she hadn't been breathing. Now she felt light headed and sick.

Keller watched walk away for a second, trying to let her go but he couldn't. He ran after her, standing in her way and craning his neck so his eyed were level with hers. He was selfish and he knew it but he couldnt let her leave without a fight. "Please Eve." He begged one last time, using his nickname for her. "I'm sorry. I love you just please, let me have another chance." He felt a tear staring to roll down his cheek and swore as he wiped his off hard with the back of his hand. "See how much you mean to me? I dont cry for anyone. Anyone but you, Genevieve."

Genevieve bit her lip trying to hault her tears. It was hard to keep her face serious. "Why are you trying though?" she said softly, rubbing her arms awkwardly. "I'm cruel, rude and flat out mean to you. It wasn't fair for you." She didn't want to be pushing him away now, but it was nearly impossible for her to let him put up with that. She almost laughed as he pointed out how he wa literally crying. She actually hadn't noticed much. She could barely see through her own tears. "I should have known from the begining. This wouldn't work because I don't deserve you." Genevieve tried to wipe her tears away but more came. She felt pathetic.

Keller actually tried to laugh but it didn't come out as it normally did. Instead, it sounded bitter which hadn't been his intent. "But im also mean, argumentative and cruel." He pointed out to her, wiping his eyes once more as he attempted to get his breathing steady. "But, I think its me that doesnt deserve you." He added quietly. "So, I cant blame you for walking away. But, you know that im not going to let you go without putting up a fight."

Genevieve tilted her head up at Keller biting her lip. She wanted to start crying into his shirt, burrying her face into his bare and warm chest. "I'm having trouble trying to answer that," she said softly. She shifted her own weight. "I cant think of anything that makes it so you don't deserve me. I'm the selfish, insignificant whore. What can be worse than that?" She didn't even attempt to wipe her face anymore. Her noes was still running and her tears still falling but the mores he tried to get rid of them, the more they came. So she gave up.

Slowly and hesitantly, Keller lifted his hands up to brush away her tears softly. When he had done that, he kept his hand on her cheek gently, giving her chance to pull away if she wished. "Even though I called you a...that, doesnt mean that you have to do it too." Keller whispered, his brow furrowed. "But if you do think you are that, they we are both perfect for eachother."

Genevieve shut her eyes, letting Keller touch her. It was almost comforting, but she didn't react much. "Perfections," she muttered. "More like imperfection. Look at us now. What's so perfect about that?" she opened her eyes again, looking up at Keller. "I don't see anything perfect about this." There hadn't beeen, and Genevieve had been too stupid not to notice. Maybe she was just in denial, she didn't even know what her thoughts were anymore.

Keller took his hand away, turning around, quickly wiping tears away and walking away to the pile of his clothes on the sand. He pulled his jeans and shirt over his dr swim trunks before walking back over to Genevieve, keeping his hands inside his pockets. "Love isnt about someone perfect. Its about finding someone imperfection and seeing them as perfect." Keller whispered, hurt showing in his voice and expression. "I thought what we had was perfect."

Genevieve let out a quick sob that she had been holding as Keller walked away. She pulled on her own jeans and jacket while he was away. She was relieved when he finally came back. She had been almost scared that he wouldn't have come back. Keller started to talk about imperfections, honestly confusing her a bit. Genevieve shook her head."Nothing is ever perfect."

Keller ran a hand through his hair though their wasn't really any need for him to do so. It wasn't as if it was long enough to get in his face of anything. He bit his nail, forgetting all about his promise to himself that he was going to stop. "Well, that just shows your view on the world. And I thought that I was a pessimist." He mumbled, looking anywhere but Genevieve. "Everything is perfect, Genevieve, just in its own way. Most of the time people just cant see it because they dont understand how its perfect." He told her, not really making a lot of sense.

Genevieve gave in. She lunged herself forward and threw her arms around Keller, crying into his chest, mumbleing apologies and other things that she didn't even understand. She just cried, feeling sorry for herself and for everythig she's ever said. She didn't want to remember any of that. She wanted to make a few comments on what he said, a question being what a pessimist, but she resited. Genevieve somewhat wanted for Keller to be her pillow instead of him. She felt embarrassed and humiliated. Everything was terrible.

Keller had suprised him by leaping st him, stumbling backwards for a few seconds before regaining his balance and tightening his arms around her as she cried into his shirt. He whispered pointless things to her as she cried, trying to soothe her. "Shh, its okay. Im sorry as well." He kissed the top of Genevieve's head before stroking a thunb over each of her cheeks to wipe away the tears. He pulled back to look at her wirh a small smile. "I knew my romantic side would be victorious." He joked, trying to cheer her up.

Genevieve choked on a laugh burying her face back in his chest suppressing a small smile. "Don't think you can get me happy right away." she muttered, rubbing her eyes again. She sniffled and wiped her nose embarrassingly. "I'm too complicated for that." Genevieve still didn't know how she was feeling. A bit of confusion was washing through her, but she knew that she loved being in Keller's arms.

Keller laughed, resting his chin on the top of Genevieve's head. "Boy, do I know you are complicated. I think I learnt that within the first five minutes of knowing you." He told her, closing his eyes. He was so glad that they were still together. "I cant believe I just did all of that. Said all that." He whispered, not angry at Genevieve yet furious at himself. He called himself a string of curses under his breath.

Genevieve didn't say anything. That was something harder to respond, especially at the point they were at. It wasn't Keller's fault at all anyway. Genevieve was the one who started it and they both got hurt because of it. Instead of responding, Genevieve tightened her arms around Keller wishing she could just fall right into him and never have to leave his warm embrace. Her tears were slowing now, but not entirely stopping, even though Genevieve was trying.
