Taking Chances [Blue]

Why was he here? He didn't know. He just knew that he couldn't leave her in this state. According to her, he was a jerk. But would a jerk stay to see if someone who had just broke his heart, was alright? He doubted so but at the moment, he didn't care about what she thought of him. She had just dumped him so, he was none of her buisness.

But Keller couldn't bring himself to walk away. Not right now. He watched Genevieve throw the pillow and slam the bathroom door behind her. Poor door. Keller slowly entered the cabin, breathing out of his mouth so he wouldn't die from the smell, and gently closed the door behind him.

The son of Athena didn't even look around the room to see and compare it to his own cabin's. Instead, he crossd straight over to the bathroom, trying to knob. Locked. He put his back to the wood, sliding down the door until he saw on the floor. He crossed his long legs, his fingers playing with the fabric of his jeans.

Keller's head looled back, hitting the wood as he looked up at the ceiling. He could still hear Genevieve crying on the otherside of the door. "Genevieve? I'm not trying to make you worse. I can't leave you when you are this upset." He informed her, continuing after a few silent minutes. "We're still going to be friends, right?"

Silence sort of descended onto the cabin, the only thing audible was Genevieve sobbing. All Keller wanted to do was knock down the door, but she wasn't making this very easy for him. He didn't want to be kicked out.

Exhaling deeply, Keller tried not to become frustrated by Genrvieve's lack of speech, knowing that it was his fault that she was in this state in the first place. He had to comfort her in some way.

Keller got to his feet, wondering briefly if he should have grabbed a shirt for him whilst he had been at his cabin. Keller shrugged; he didn't care about being shirtless, yet right now he was he was wearing a shirt of some sort.

Keller knocked on the bathroom door, leaning against it with all his weight. There was no doubt in his mind that if Genevieve chose to open the door right now, he would go falling forward yet he was willing to take that risk.

"Evie? Can you open the door, please? Eve?" He asked, concern molding his voice.

Keller, like he had earlier anticipated, went stumbling forward when Genevieve opened the door to the bathroom, not being able to stop himself due to the momentum. In fact, he had fallen so far that he landed with a thud against the bathtub, making a funny noise. "I meant to do that." Keller gasped.

After a moment, the demigod stopped being dramatic, turning around to find Genevieve just sitting there, looking at the tiled floor. He closed the bathroom door, sitting down against it so that he was opposite Genevieve, facing her.

Whoa. Dude, she looked like crap. And that was coming from him. He smiled at her anyway, however because he knew that it was the right thing to do. He had really hurt her, and now he had to make up for his stupid mistakes.

"You look...great." Keller joked, trying to flip the situstion into a positive one. After realising thst it probably hadn't worked, he cleared his throat. "Speak to me, Eve? Say something?"

Keller frowned for a moment before rolling his eyes, the corners if his mouth were twitching up into a smile. "We both know that I don't speak French, Genevieve." Keller said, amusment and frustration in his voice.

Keller had no clue whatsoever about what she was saying, but he knew that he wanted her to speak to him. He needed to just talk to her. About anything. About everything. About nothing. It didn't mattet to him; he just needed to hear her try and make convsersation with him.

"Come on, Eve. Can we just talk about something? In the same language? Please." Keller practically begged, reaching out and resting his hand on her knee without realising or thinking about the action.

The son of Athena remained in absolute quiet for another moment before he started to laugh, finding what Genevieve said to be pretty funny. Well, it had been a tension breaker, at least.

Once Keller had got a hold on himself, he ran a hand through his short, dark hair which had been trying to flattened. Uh....no. Keller wanted his hair spiked right now, so that's what he was going to freaking have.

"Yeah, no. That sounds like too much work; learning another language." Keller told her, still smiling at her. Having said that, Keller and his siblings were always working, whether it be independantly, or as a group.

Lately, they had been looking at something about pixels and transferring them in different structures at different time phases. Keller only really wanted to be a part of this project because he had to play Call of Duty for about five hours straight, so they did work and he wasn't bothered abiut being a lazy jerk.

"I meant; Can we both speak in both speak in English, Eve." He smirked, noticing that his hand was resting upon her knee yet she didn't seem to care. He rubbed his finger against her skin there, comfortingly and gently.

Keller raised his eyebrows when Genevieve spoke, his heart leaping for a second. Did she want to get back with him? For an Athena kid, he was pretty slow. But having said that, he wasn’t a very romantic person, so it was hard for him to pick up straight away at hints and romantic topics.

Keller took his hand off Genevieve’s knee quickly, leaning back against the wall and biting on his thumb nail, trying to think. Was she messing him about? Did she just want to be friends? Was she only doing this because she felt guilty? Did she mean that she just wanted to forget about him all together and move on, to probably someone else? The thought made him want to punch something, but he didn’t. Instead, jealousy flashed across his features; which wasn’t the sweetest look.

“I don’t…understand.” Keller said slowly, his brown and gold eyes looking around the bathroom quickly before back at his girlfriend- Ex-girlfriend. Keller crawled forward on his hands and knees, sitting down next to Genevieve instead of opposite her. Their arms touching, his bare and hers wrapped in his sweater.

“I love you, Eve.” Keller told her, quietly but it was obvious to see that he meant it with all his heart. He propped his head up with his hand, his elbow resting on his knee as he faced her, waiting for her to finally open for ever-changing eyes and look at him. He didn’t know what her reaction would be, but his stomach was spinning in anticipation.

He didn’t like the feeling. He didn’t like the waiting. He didn’t like the idea of being without Genevieve and it took him a lot of balls to realize that.

Shock and happiness warmed Keller for a moment when Genevieve embraced him, yet his feelings were soon clouded with saddness and concern for her.

Keller quickly pulled the daughter of Aphrodite onto his lap, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her close to his torso, whispering sweet silennces into her ear. He kissed her forehead, before kissing her long brown hair repetativly.

"I'm sorry Genevieve, for being an ass. I have been a jerk to you." Keller said, thinking that it was him that had messed everything up the get them in this position in the first place. Gods, he could be such a turd sometimes. Most of the time, actually; in his opinion, of course.

"I'm sorry. Please don't cry." Keller begged, looking down at her with only worry on his face, wiping the streaking tears from her cheeks with his thumbs.

Keller raised his eyebrows, biting the inside of his cheek to keep himself quiet, thinking over what he was about to say. Maybe he should start thinking over everything he should speak before, just in-case he messed up again. He was normally pretty sweet, but he had his moments.

“Shh, chill. It’s alright.” Keller laughed uneasily, hoping to just pass this topic and move on to something better. He looked around the cold and quiet bathroom, wondering how long until Genevieve’s half-siblings returned. Maybe it was better for him to go, and see her again in a few days. Maybe she could get a hold on herself in the next few days, and Keller could clear his head.

Keller ran a hand through his dark hair, which didn’t seem to want to stay flat on his head, instead; sticking up in all directions. He couldn’t be bothered attempting to fix it right now, plus he didn’t really care much about how he looked. He was probably the complete opposite to Genevieve, and any other child of Aphrodite, for that matter. The two of them had nothing in common, but Keller still loved her with nearly all of his heart; 1.5% of his heart was dedicated to food.

“People should have finished their dinner by now. Maybe I should get back.” Keller told her, his brown eyes returning to her face to study her expressions, wondering what she would say or do.

The Son of Athena knew that if Genevieve’s brothers and sister returned and found them there, with a shirtless Keller and crying Genevieve, people would think the worse. Probably that Keller was trying to abuse her or something. That would not look good and Keller wanted to avoid a sticky situation such as that. Avoid it as much as possible. Plus, he didn’t really feel like fighting with her brothers right now. Honestly, he just wanted to go to bed until, like, mid-day tomorrow.

Keller tilted up Genevieve's face when she refused to meet his gaze, forcing her to look at him. "It's cool, seriously. We're good." He assured her with a smile, leaning down and pressing his lips against hers.

The kiss was only brief, but it was enough for Keller. He smiled sweetly at her, looking nice and kind forrba rare moment in his life before standing up and stretching, looking down at her.

"I'll see you later, yeah?" He smiled, tapping his foot against her thigh lightly before walking out the bathroom.
