Going to Meet the Parent {James and Kar}

We arrived at the airport and were about to get on the plane when one of the employee's started to convulse. I ran to her side.

"Are you alright?"

Right at that second, the woman transformed into a dracnae. I was startled but immediately grabbed my dagger out of my boot.

James pulled out his blade as the monster appeared. He had little time to note that he blade was blood red. He charged the monster, but before he could jump and stab, it's tail knocked both James and Kar to the ground.
James screamed and charged the monster again, jumping and dodging the tail until it was right in front of the monster, then he jumped. Directly at the monster's head, his blade aiming straight forward.

I sat on the ground, watching, why was I watching? I immediately got up and charged the damn thing. It was a nasty little creature.

"James!" I screamed. "You get the back, I got the front!"

He heard Kar say something, but couldn't make it out. The blade was an inch from the monster's eye when it's tail knocked James to the ground. He had only enough time to think, I wonder what the mortals are seeing? before he became unconscious.

I ran up to the tempered monster and stabbed it repeatedly stabbed it in the forehead. It turned to dust and I ran to James' aid.

He was unconcious.

"Somebody help! He's unconcious! He needs a paramedic!" I screamed in my british accent.

The dream was fuzzy and kept fading in and out. First I was jumping off a cliff into an icy sea, but right before I hit the ground a hawk picked me up by my shoulders. Then, again I was walking on a long dark road, and couldn't see anything around me. Then Kar was next to me, holding my hand. But I fell through a hole, and she grabbed on.
And the same Gold light pushed her down and we both fell.

The medics had put James on a gurney and taken him to the hospital. He suffered a minor concussion and was still unconcious.

My dad had come after the paramedics had called him. I ignored him and sat next to James' bed on a hard plastic chair.

"He's not going to be able to fly for a couple days Kar. Might as well come home."

I stared at him in disbeleif.

"He'll be on a plane by tomorrow. We're not going home. You are, but he isn't"

I awoke with a start and cold sweat. I looked at the clock next to me, it was 2 in the morning. I looked at the people in the room. I saw Kar's dad who was passed out in a chair, and Kar, who was also asleep with my hand in hers.
But there was someone else in the room. He was tall, with shaggy black hair and stunk of death. His suit was pitch black and looked like souls were trying to escape it. I didn't have to ask to know who it was.
Hello, he said in my head, smiling, Do not scream, or make a sound, I am not here to kill you. he said again. I nodded.

My time is limited, but it is important that you know the dream you had is an omen. The golden light is a child of Apollo, who will try to take Kar from you. If you let her go, she will live. But if you stay with her, you will both die.

and why are you of all gods telling me this? I thought back. Because I'm the one that's going to have to clean up the mess. he said, and with a smile disappeared into smoke.

I squeezed Kar's hand to awake her. A choice needed to be made, but hopefully not for a while.

"Huh? What? I wasn't drooling!" I was startled. "Whoa, James, you're awake, but, what the hell is that smell?"

I was confused. James looked amazing for a guy who had a concussion and had been unconcious. He had a serious look in his eyes though.

"What is it? Who visited?"

"Nothing." I say, trying to lose the seriousness in my voice, "I mean uh- no one." I say looking away from her. God dang it! I thought Can anything good for me stay good? "You have any ambrosia?" I say, trying to change the subject.

"James, what happened? You can tell me anything." I was being sincere.

"No changing the subject." I had a stern look on my face. This was important whatever it was. I needed to know because, I coud tell it involved me.

"It's nothing. I just thought that, well. Nevermind. Let's just get back to camp as soon as possible. I'll explain it to you there." I say. I didn't want to tell her. It was gonna break my heart, but I had to break up with the only girl I loved. The girl I had sacrificed my brother for, to save her life. and I'd rather not do it in front of her dad.

"We have the tickets for tonight right? Do you think you can go? I have ambrosia in my carry-on." I was worried, why couldn't he tell me here. He loved me right, he could tell me anything. I walked over to our luggage's and unzipped my carry on. In the front puch there was a small plastic bag with two squares of ambrosia in it.

I walked over to James and gave him the square.

"Okay, you ready to go?"

Even the ambrosia didn't taste good now. "Ye-" I said squeak-ally, then I cleared my throat, "Yeah." I signed myself out. The nurse's said it was a 'Miracle' I was even alive, let alone walking. They obviously don't know demi-gods.

"Okay, to the airport, again." I smiled. We called a cab and reached the airport a half-hour later.

"Okay so we just need to hurry the Hades up. We have 7 minutes until the flight leaves."

We ran and ran and ran until we got to the boarding 'station' as my dad called it.

I handed the lady our tickets and she checked and then we ran and ran and ran again. So we were sitting down, first class. I was on my laptop, looking at swords and daggers for sale. I needed a sword.

I looked out the window, tears silently filling my eyes. I couldn't stand but think that in the next day, I would lose the girl I loved. It was going to be hard, but he had to do it. He couldn't let her die.
I sniffled a weep as a cough. No I thought, you have to stay strong.

"James whats wrong?"

I was getting worried. I had only known James 4 days, but I already knew when he was sad or not.

"You crying, whats wrong?"

I dried up my tears quickly. "Uh.. nothing." I said, dabbing my eyes, "Just -uh. George. You know, it's only been a few days. I just, couldn't help it." I said. This was a complete lie. James had a plan to get George back, but that wouldn't be for a long while.

OOC: So what are we going to do about the engagment, just break it or are they going to wait, till like, there older and they won't die?

"Oh, uh, well don't cry. You're supposed to be a guy. Guy's don't cry." I smiled and wiped some tears from his eyes. "It's going to be fine. We are not going to die. Or get attacked by another monster. We are in this together right? And George is cheering for us up there." I said nodding towards the sky. The faintest beam of light was crashing through the clouds. It was shining right on the plane, was that bad?

"Technically, down there." I said, looking towards the ground, "You know, since the Greeks were right. But he died in battle, so he goes to a good place down there." I say, looking at her, my eyes dry now.

Yeah, no more monsters. and we are in this together.

((OOC: Well, I was gonna have James try to break up with her, and then if you want, you can have her stay with him, and they'll get married, and killed. Or, you can have her listen to him, and she lives.))

OOC: Uhh second one lol

"Yeah I guess, but Hera is also goddess of the heavens so maybe there is heaven. But, he should get a second chance." I smiled for a moment, thinking about how happy James would be. "So, what should we do when we get back to camp?"

"Umm..." What was I gonna tell her? Oh, when we get back to camp, I'm breaking up with you. "I don't know." I decided was a good response. "I guess, just kinda, do what we do."

"Okay." I smiled. "But, we should go swimming, Mr.D probably warmed it up at camp. So the waters probably warm enough." I was happy we could have our own time again. He still looked sad. I kissed him on the cheek. "You alright?" I was worried about him.

"Yeah, I think I'm just tired. Long day." I said, kissing her on the lips then laying back down. I held her hand and slowly drifted off into sleep. The dream was of me, and Kar. We were kissing when suddenly a monster, which I couldn't see, came out of nowhere and smashed us.

"Yeah." I yawned. "It's a long ride back to New York too."

When the plane landed, James was still sleeping.

"Baby, Baby wake up. We're here."I shook him.

I laughed when we got to the luggage carousel. Someone had written in James' forehead while he was asleep. It wasn't me, well okay maybe it was.
