The Girly Dream.

Last night I had a girly dream,
we were dancing in the snow.
You took me by the hand and said :
"I'll never let you go.
This might sound really sappy,
but I think that I love you.
So darling, let me hold your hand.
'Cause that's what kids in love do."

Last night I had a girly dream,
We were on our first date.
You kissed me on the lips and said :
"Let's be more than mates.
This might sound really sappy,
but I'm sure that I love you.
So let me be your boyfriend.
'Cause that's what teens in love do."

Last night I had a girly dream,
that I was dressed in white.
Walked down an aisle to meet you, who said :
"Will you be my Mrs. Right?
This might sound really sappy,
but I know that I love you.
So thanks for being my blushing bride,
'Cause that's what people in love do."

Last night I had a girly dream,
that I was holding our first son.
You came over, sat next to me and said :
"This is perfect, what we've done.
This might sound really sappy,
but I love that I love you.
So let me snuggle our little kid,
'Cause that's what people in love do."

Last night I had a scary dream,
That you and I were in court.
You glared at me and said :
"I want a freakin' divorce.
This might sound really horrible,
but I could never ever love you.
So let me find someone else,
'cause that's what people out of love do."

So now, as I sit, watching you smile
I'm glad my dreams never came true.
'Cause that would mean I would be ripped apart,
by the one I love to love.
So I'll just carry on stalking,
and by being a friend to you,
I can still sort of crush in secret.
'Cause that's what socially awkward kids in love do.
