[b]"I love music, it's all I have left."
Sarah held her knees to her body with her arms. Her heart beat to it's normal rhythm. She sighed and let her mind wander like the morning mist that surrounded her. Sarah began to think about Grant. She remembered first meeting him, only two days ago. To her, it seemed like forever. Sarah thought about falling into the creek, and skipping rocks. Then her mind drifted to the hound attack, and her hand. The main thing she remembered about that was Grant hummed "Crazy Girl" when he was patching up her hand.

That song was one of Sarah's many favorite's. She also remembered wanting him to come back in the room the second he left. Sarah sighed and watched her breath float into the air and disappear. She missed his blue eyes, his dark brown hair, and his simple conversations. Sarah closed her eyes and wished he was there.

Grant smiled leaning against a tree his heart pounding nervously in his chest. He was going to ask Sarah to the winter ball. He hid his nervousness with a big smile and ran his hand through his hair. He brought his other hand to his mouth and bit down on his pinky nail. His nails were already crap and bitten down to stubs. He brought his hand back down to his side and called out, "Everytime I see you, you're by water. Kinda funny." His voice twanged with its country accent.

SARAH~ANNE~ARCHER
Sarah smiled and laid her legs out straight."It's a good place to think." she said getting up on her feet. It was true, Sarah spent most time here, or in her cabin. In her mind, water seemed much more peaceful then people pointing sharp metal at each other. "At least this time I didn't fall in." Sarah said with a smile.

"I know. Good job." Grant said with a chuckle as he stepped down off the rock that was leaning against a tree. His boots made a loud thud as they hit the ground. That's what he got for wearing steel-toed boots everywhere. He walked over to the place Sarah was laying and sat down next to her. "So how's life, Sarah?" He said stretching his arms over his head. His sleeves fell down a bit, showing off a bit of muscle and the shirt around his stomach lifted up showing just the very tops of his boxers.

Sarah tried not to stare at him. Oops. She didn't listen to what he said, but thought it was along the lines of life. "Alright." Sarah replied simply." My hand's okay." she said glancing down at it. She had a bandage around it and it was just fine. Sarah twisted it back and forth, still no pain.

He glanced down at her hand. It looked alright. "Good.." He said slowly, as if processing this. Grant took a deep breath and let it out. "So...uhh...are you going to the Winter Ball?" He asked kind of quickly. His heart started pounding irregularly again.
His palms became sweaty. 'Gah,' he thought as he nonchalantly rubbed his palms on his jeans.

SARAH~ANNE~ARCHER
Sarah tried not to look shocked. " No, well I'm not sure..." she said rubbing her fingers nervously. "No one has asked me yet." Sarah said looking at him. Her blue eyes looked him over, then softened. Grant was just as nervous as she was. Good?

She looked out at the water again and sighed. Sarah put her arms behind her and leaned on them . It was more comfortable, for the time being. She felt butterflies fill her stomach, and she wished they would stop.

Grant nodded, in thought for a moment. He glanced across the lake, where a little spider scuttled across his foot. He thought about picking it up, but decided against it because Sarah was probably afraid of spiders. Most girls where.
Grant took another breath and said, "Would you want to go with me?" And then added, "to the ball, I mean."
Oh, god. She probably thought he was an idiot and a loser. Maybe he should just say he was kidding. But, what if she actually did want to go with him? Preposterous! Who in their right mind would want to go with him?
At least he was getting over Olivia.

Sarah's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. She was going to say "Yes! about a million times, but then heard Grant add " To the ball.". The "ball" part made him seem less excited, or at least it did to her."Yeah, sounds great." Sarah said with a smile. She was going to the ball with him! Yay!! That was about all she could think about. Those butterflies in her stomach began fluttering again, and her face showed it.

Grant saw the look on her face and immediately took it as a look of pure disbelief. Grant cringed and sent a silent prayer up to Aphrodite.
Calmly, Sarah said her answer and Grant's mind exploded into ideas. He'd give her flowers and he'd take her out to dinner before. It'd be so wonderful! His mind was whirring away before Grant could get ahold of it and he was getting slightly dizzy. And his heart was pounding at the time, too. 'Damn, it feels like I'm going to have a panic attack.' Grant took a few deep breaths and calmed himself down. He glanced at Sarah and a red color spread across his face and he averted his eyes quickly.

"that I love you like crazy, girl..."

Sarah smiled, seeing Grant's eyes light up. He looked deep in thought, she she did disturb him, until he looked dizzy. "Grant are you okay?" Sarah asked setting her hand on his arm. His face was red, but at least he looked better.

"What? Oh, yeah." He said, taking a few deep breaths. Grant nodded again and let his eyes drift downwards. 'Now what?' Was it supposed to be this awkward? he wondered silently. 'Should they talk about the ball or just...let it be? Grant carefully thought through these things.

SARAH~ANNE~ARCHER
Sarah nodded slowly, trying to think of something to say. She began to think of what to expect at the ball, then remembered she had never been to one."Do you know how to dance? 'Cuz I don't" she admitted softly. Sarah wouldn't have ever thought she would be going to the ball with Grant, she had only wanted to see him. But this works too.
