He had set up his ballista and pointed it at a group of dummies. With the freshly polished steel and the massive bolt, it looked like a crossbow on steroids. He slowly pulled back the drawstring , creating so much tension on the rope that he had to clear out a section to make sure it didn't hit anyone else. He felt the urge to fire but he wanted to stand back and admire his handy work.

I went into the arena after my morning run. I was no were near my goal of 5 miles, I barley went 1. The next thing on my to do list was train in the arena. When I got there, I say a boy, deffinetally shorter than me, and younger than me, admiering some training dummies. No, he was getting ready to fire at some training dummies. He looked as if he needed a training partner. "In need of a training partner?" I asked him.

"Yeah. Thanks." He kept on pulling the crank back, like he was pulling the world backwards. "You can help me pull this back." He decided to sit down and let him pull the crank because he was tired. He pulled a 5 foot bolt out of his backpack and got ready to load it.

I gave a slight chuckle. "Did the dummies take your wallet or something?" I asked him, sitting down and pulling back the crank. Having to crank a wepon like this wound't do much help in an actual battle, but I didn't say that. "Oh, I'm Christian, by the way. Christain Wood." I told him

"Nice to meet you. My name is Brendon." I watched her slowly crank the weapon. When she finished, he tied a string to the trigger and stepped back. "Would you like to do the honors?"

I shake my head. "No, it's your weapon, I have one of my own." I tell him, as I take off my cross necklace. "Just watch" I say, and my necklace turns into a sword. "Cool, huh?"

"I think it's cool though I make all of my own weapons." He yanked back hard on the string and watched the bolt fly, penetrating two of the dummies through from the front to the back. "Good. It didn't break. So how did you like it?"

I give a smile. "You make your own weapons? That's pretty cool. I'm not handy with my hands like that." I told him. "And my sword can't do that." I swing my sword around a little. "Have you ever sparred against someone? That's the kind of training that I do. Like, hand to hand combat." I said.

"I've sparred against many people. Why do you ask?" He acted like he didn't know anything but he got the idea. He pulled some throwing daggers out of his backpack and held them out. "I can keep you far enough from me."

I gave a smile. "I'm used to sparring, and it's kinda hard to spar alone. You need a partner for things like that." I told him. "You wanna go?" I asked him. Not like those people do when the want to fight, fight, but like a practice battle. I held up my sword in the ready position. "I'm ready when you are."

"Ready." I threw my knives up and hopped back a few steps and drew his sword. The knives fell and landed in the ground, the points facing up. His spear fell out of his backpack so he picked it up anyways. He aimed it and got ready to strike against him. "Have fun."

I gave him a confuzed look. I wan't really sure what Brendon's tactics were. "Uhh." I said, as I started moving closer to him. Far away combat really wasn't my thing. I was more hand to hand combat.

"Fine. My move." I took the other end of my spear and poked a knife on to the end of it and threw it up. I swung the side of the spear into it like a baseball bat and watched it fly toward Christian. He switched the spear back to normal position and prepared another tactic.
