| Gianna 'Gia' Aurora Russo - Spoiler:
gianna'gia' aurora russo age/birthday Gianna was born on the 27th of April 1996, currently being fourteen years.
gender Gia is a female.
immortal parent Achelois (Ἀχελωΐς), "she who washes pain away," a minor moon goddess and, yes, she is claimed.
mortal family Gianna's father is Nathaniel Russo, an average businessman of the Toronto area. He has four other children, split by two years after Ariana's birth (except when Gia arrived), with Nathan's wife, Aurora: Ariana (22; 1989), Vienna (20; 1991), Andre (18: 1993), and Evan (16; 1995). Her mother successfully killed herself after her husband had a one-night stand with a Greek goddess. From then on, Ari and Vi blamed Gia for the death of their mother. She longed for her half-sisters' attention as a little girl, but dismissed it as she aged. From age two onwards, she's been one of the boys, which she's okay with. She loves and adores her older brothers, Andre and Evan.
Her oldest sister, Ariana Sienna, was very popular, but popularity, parties, drinking and getting wasted meant nothing to her--well, the drinks helped, somewhat. After being diagnosed with depression and insomnia, Ari became secretive when smuggling in vodka and beer, hiding it in all places imaginable. She soon developed alcoholism after receiving treatment at a rehabilitation center at eighteen. She hasn't touched any alcohol or illegal drugs since and is staying strong, being a novelist and she writes about her life. Although seven-year-old Ariana blamed Gianna for the suicide, it subsided as she matured into a healthy young woman. Ariana is willing to support Gia whenever, being the nurturing sister she is. She has a boyfriend named Jade (22; 1989), whom she's been with since late in her senior year of high school. They live back in Ann Arbor, near the University of Michigan, in an apartment. She keeps in touch with the rest of the family by visiting every five months, more frequently in the summer months. Ari and Vi are connected at the hip (figure of speech, hello) and she hangs with Andre and Ari more than anyone.
Vienna Vanessa dismissed Gia as a nuisance, up until Gianna's twelfth birthday, when Vi was eighteen and graduating high school. Vi pretty much hates everyone equally, not that she hated Gia any more. Vi isolated herself throughout the years, living behind the computer screen. She excelled in school, although she never thought of herself as any better. She was invisible, until senior year, when the school found out about her video-blogging, or better known as "vlogs." She became famous for her comedic and pessimistic views and now she's traveling the world, acting and living happily in Los Angeles, California, never to be forgotten again. She visits when she can, but never tells the public of her family life, keeping it all too quiet. She finished her fourth year of college in 2011 in hopes of having an education which is extremely important to the Russo family. Vi is closest with Evan, being his exact opposite.
Andre Anthony, her oldest brother, is the most supporting and loving, but treats Gia as a daughter rather than a little sister. He means well, but Gia thinks he needs to let loose a bit, and let his immaturity show once in a while. It has, in the past year, but Gia still doesn't designate him as her favorite. He's going to school in autumn at Toronto University. Andre and Evan were close, being the only boys aside from their father.
Evan Cody, Gia's absolute favorite brother who she misses dearly is closest in age, having only turned sixteen June 17th. As soon as Gia was born, Evan was right there. They've been the best of friends ever since. Evan may not be an athlete now, but him and Gia played soccer together all the time and talked of sports all through elementary. They are almost similar, aside from Evan being less sporty and more-so quiet than Gia. Evan's a loner, but that doesn't mean he's as independent as Gia. Evan and Vienna got along best.
camp information Have you ever seen her before, silly? .... You have? What have you been doing.... stalking her? New arrival; year-round.
history Nathaniel Adamo Russo was born and raised in New York, New York. He has a heavy Italian accent, although he had never actually been to Italy, more specifically, Sicily. The young Sicilian fell in love with another young beauty of pure Italian descent, whom eventually became his wife. Together they had four children: Ariana, Vienna, Andre and Evan. They lived happily until Nathaniel had confessed sleeping with a goddess. After his affair with Achelois, they went through what Andre jokingly named the "Dark Age (1996-1999)" because of their mother's suicide in January 1997. No one (except Evan) was willing to accept the birth of their half-sister and strayed as far as possible from her reach. Evan was the only one smiling, oddly enough, and it seems Achelois left a mark on her little demigod creation: Gianna could heal (or rather make you forget that you're pained) and widen smiles within a ten-feet radius.
Gianna's always been all smiles and amazingly she never got hurt (okay, she just healed quickly). That changed the summer before ninth grade, when a fellow classmate sexually assaulted her. She hadn't received any noticeable bruises (well, she heals fast, dude), so she hid the issue from her father, siblings and friends. She still remembers, but she's moved on because with her family's reputation, that's all you really can do. Evan eventually found out, noticing Gianna's difference in behavior. He supported and believed her, with Andre as the protector, but the way Gia sees it? This trauma actually could have brought their distant family together, but, no, Gianna wasn't willing to open up. Families have to stick up for each other, but she hadn't let anyone in.
physical appearance Gianna is known for her height, which may be a tad bit on the tall, athletic side for a fourteen-year-old. Gia has a slender body with an average-to-small waist. Her legs are silky smooth and cleanly shaven, being one of her best assets. She'll usually slip on any old (preferably new, please) pair of sneakers, as long as they fit comfortably. She weighs just above 115 pounds, courtesy of her muscle. If one squints (that may be an exaggeration), they'll see soft, subtle curves is that a enough to prove she's not a toothpick?
Gia's round eyes glisten as if they were the wax coating of dark chocolate, complemented by a pale milky-white that never tans, only burns. She swears it's a damn curse. She rarely ever conceals herself in make-up because she doesn't like the cake-y feeling. Her cheekbones are high and naturally rosy, so she never needs artificial blush, not to mention, it's "disgusting and smells weird." Her nose is small, yet average in shape, not standing out on her face. She feels out-of-place in cover-up, so if she ever wears something it's shadow (black or natural) and dark liner. One day in fifth grade, she passed by a broken exercise machine in her basement and cut her knee, ending up in fourteen stitches. Her friends called the scar "caterpillar-like," naming it "Stitch." Gianna's closet is scattered with track and athletic suits over a (occasionally graphic) tee and Nike's or Converse, what one may call "sporty."
Gia's hair is soft, smooth and a chocolate brown, due to the effect of daily conditioning and shampooing, ending passed her breastbone. It's naturally straight, so unlike half the population at her school, she does not use a flat iron, unless there are certain circumstances that may call for it. She either parts her hairline down the middle or along her left side. It's parted down the middle and flips at the end. Unless practicing basketball or soccer wear her hair is tied tightly in a ponytail, she leaves it down.
personality Gianna's a genuinely happy girl, content with life. She's a leader, which shows with her confidence and is independent. She will try and try, until she gets it right, or "perfect." She has a problem with perfection, always thinking everything must be at its best, no matter how impossible that may be. She's a little clumsy off the basketball court and back in "Girl World," where she rarely fits in. Her guy friends are mainly what her little group consists of and she is seen as one of them. She over-thinks scenarios in her head, looking at the little things. Her voice is soft, but she's not necessarily quiet nor is she loud and obnoxious.
She loves to laugh and make others happy, which she is naturally good at. Gia is a bit naive when it comes to reading people. She's that kind of person that believes everyone and anyone is nice and real. She often asks herself (and anyone willing to listen) philosophical question, which interests her greatly. Her emotions are always high; elated. The only time she was lifted out of the white and into the darker blue was the aftermath of her rape, but she's okay now, right? Yeah, she thinks so.
fatal flaw She's very naive, often too nice and a little too forgiving. She's a perfectionist.
pets Currently, Gianna has a cat named Fuzzles and a turtle named Squirtle.
talents Gianna could heal (or rather make you forget that you're pained) and widen smiles within a ten-feet radius. Her favorite sports are soccer and basketball, and it shows.
weapons Gianna heals, rather than fights. She's a strong supporter of peace, but she can pack quite the punch if you have it coming.
