I don't need a name, just a place... [ Avawstar ]

The kiss struck her like a lightning bolt. Left breathless and stunned, Syn just stared up at him shyly, a blush slowly forming on her cheeks as she started to come out of the 'shock' of it. She was light headed, her mind clear, but muddled at the same time. It felt so right.

Even when he spoke, she had to blink a few times to register what he said. "Ungh?" was all she managed, then blushed, suddenly realizing what he said. "Oh...yeah" she looked over at it, but her mind still whirled from the kiss, so she didn't even see what she was looking at.

What...what was that? she frowned slightly, wondering kepy her from thinking straight. She glanced sideways at him, blushing again. Was this...love?

He had to do something quick. "Syn, let's forget all about what I just said. Let's just remember...the kiss." He said the last part with a hint of satisfaction. It had been great. Truly, the feeling he encountered now was spectacular. Adam couldn't explain what it was. No, that was a lie. He knew what it was, but he felt no need to explain it to himself. Adam knew exactly what it was. "Truly, I just realized that we're not so different. It took me kissing you to realize it, but yes. I'll never leave you." The words had slipped out quickly, yet confidently. He took no hesitation now.

Syn looked up at him, just watching for a few moments before smiling warmly. "Took your time," she said with a sly smile, then stifled a small laugh as she turned and started dawdling along, not heading in any particular direction.

She didn't have any plan in mind, having only come to the forest for something familiar to her, but her plans of the day, not that she had any, were lost now that Adam was there. Unsure exactly what to do, but not really caring, she started listening to the animal songs before smiling happily.

She half-turned, looking over her shoulder at Adam. "Coming?" she asked, even though she didn't know where she was heading exactly. She began to walk backwards, before grinning and speeding up slightly. She was teasing him, relaxed and happy. "Catch me if you can" she called out, watching him with eyes that sparkled with sudden playful energy as the game came to mind.
Good old Fal, she thought to herself, where would I be without those puppy games we used to play.

He watched as she began to leave the area. His face was contorted in confusion, and he couldn't stop himself from rocking on his heels for a few seconds. A she spoke, however, he sighed a bit in relief. "Of course I can catch you!" Adam's voice was one of playful mocking. "Because, you're forgetting something..." He let a few seconds pass, his face a satisfied smirk. "Are you ready for the truth?"

"One; I'm a son of Hades. Two; there's a special power that comes with that. I can travel with the shadows." He spoke the last part with a falsely mysterious tone. After letting her take that in for a few seconds, he stepped backwards into a shadow, and instantly disappeared. It was as if he had been absorbed in to the ground.

Now it was Syn's turn to falter. She stared blankly at the spot Adam vanished into, confused, before suddenly glancing about frantically. "Adam?!" she called out into the silence. It startled her to see, and sense him there one moment, then he was gone altogether the next. She felt her heart speed up, and the forest too quiet as many of the animals felt her fright and need for for silence. She wanted to hear him before he could catch her. Her heightened senses would detect him as soon as he returned, and the animals would prove to be good lookouts. But she still panicked. Nothing was scarier to her than losing sight of her 'hunter,' even if it was a game.

Shadow travel she thought, forcing herself to calm down. That means shadows only... she grinned, even though the largest patch of sunlight was a few meters away. She knew she probably wouldn't make it, but was worth a try.

Then she was off, dashing for the patch quickly and easily avoiding trees and any other obstacles. Almost there she thought, about to jump over a smallish bush in between her and the sunny clearing. She faintly registered the surprised chatter of a bird as it was awoken by the sudden rush of air rustling the branches of it's home.

Adam watched her, his mind floating in a state between the Underworld, and the physical world. Shadow traveling had always been an odd thing. In fact, they said that the sensation and feeling could drive a regular human crazy. Despite this, it had grown on Adam, and had often been used to his advantage. With one eye on the patch of light, and one eye on Syn, he waited. All he had to do was let her get a little closer, and then he jump out of the shadows to catch her.

Syn smiled, it seemed as if she would make it. But just as she jumped through the last shadow, she felt something cool touch the back of her neck. Just a touch, but it left a tingle afterwards, and she knew he would catch, her smile faltering from it's victory to become a happy acceptance.
"You caught me" she said before he even appeared and her herself landing.

From the protection of his own shady world, he watched as she had stepped in the last of the shadows. She thought victory was imminent. But alas, she knew that Adam had caught her, and she was done. As she spoke, his face contorted into a childish grin. A few moments later, he formed from the shadows, a few inches behind her. Stepping forward, he wrapped his arms around her from behind. "Yes, yes I did." His lips were still tilted upwards, a small smile on his face. It felt natural and calming to hold her, yet the adrenaline that was pumping through his veins made the sensation very odd indeed.

"I almost didn't catch you. You're much too fast..." His voice faded off, and his eyes stared into the distance. Adam's mind had wandered off somehow, and his thoughts had abruptly stopped. His mind was now focused on one thing. Pancakes. It was weird, he knew, but the complete desire for one of those flat batter-patties was making his head spin. He wanted a pancake so bad, he wouldn't be afraid to tackle Zeus for one. "Pancakes..." His voice was small, yet audible.

She smiled again as she felt his arms encircle her waist. Relaxing, she lent into him calmly, quite happy to just stand there in his arms and listen to the sounds of birdsong and animal chatter.

"I'm not fast" she responded quietly, a small smile still playing at her lips as she half turned to look over her shoulder at him. However, her train of thought was broken as he said that one word, and she frowned. "Pancakes?" her eyes clouded over as she recognized the word, though didn't remember it. "What are pancakes?" she asked after a moment frustratingly blank thoughts.
