I nodded, my head slightly tugging at his clothes. "I understand," I replied. "What's it like in the Hades cabin anyway? My cabin really isn't that interesting. Just a whole bunch of books and stuff."

"There is no Hades cabin." I told her."And I never stay in the Hera cabin.I want nothing to do with that women.Plus,I prefer the basement.Basically,in there,it's dark,not much to see.Me and Tobias hang out there all the time.In other words,it's awesome."

I nodded once more. "That's nice," I said simply. I began to think about how long it's been since we've been together like this. We were alone again, and I don't think that it's been like this since our first date.

I took a minute to look into his blue eyes, and recite the events that happened on our first date. Everything was so peaceful then. We rarely had any trouble with Cronus, or monsters like we did now. Even at my own house it was possessed. "I don't know what to do now," I sigh.

I shook my head fromm left to right, then let out a huge sigh. "Maybe we should go check on my family," I suggested. "I just want to make sure they're okay." I thought about how my emotions would change instantly if I figured out that my own family was dead. I would never be able to put up with that, especially if I lost Kai. He was the only person I had besides Victoria, my family had to stay here. They were mortals, but I wondered if my half-siblings were something else. No, they couldn't be, but I remained cautious of our next encounter.

I smiled at him, held his free-hand, and led him into the kitchen. My eyes were locked on Kai's until we reached the room. Once inside, my father laid on the floor uncouncious. "Dad!" I screamed, sprinting over to him.

"Dad," I screamed, bursting into tears. "Dad, what happend to you?" I shook his body slightly across the floor, hoping he would wake up. He remained still, unaware of my presence.

I watched as my dad laid uncouncious on the floor. Tears fell from my eyes, splattering on my jeans. Why was it always me that had to take the beating? Wiping a tear from my eye, I said, "Well, so much for a good Valentine's day."

I sighed."Well,at least the cops aren't here." I said.I was trying to cheer her up with humor.But it kinda stunk.

I rested my head in his chest, my tears soaking his shirt. "Oh, Kai. What are we going to do? We can't just leave him here," I said, but my words came out slightly muffled. "Should . . . Should we get him to the hospital?" I wasn't sure if that would do anything. After all, he was most likely attacked by a monster, and most mortals aren't capable of seeing through the mist; a magical veil that prevents mortals from seeing real world. If they can't see my father's wounds, then he might just die today. Who would want their dad to die on Valentine's day?

"Well, we can't just leave him here! He's my dad!" Tears fell down my cheeks harder than before. My eyes were completly bloodshot, and there was a hige lump in my throat from trying to hold back the tears. But as you can tell, that ended up in a complete fail. "Quick, help me pick him up."

"I don't know how much time he has left," I said rather nervously. I studied my father's features skeptically. His complexion began to look extremely pale, and his shaggy, blonde hair appeared to be turning gray. "Kai . . . I hate to ask you this, but, do you think you could shadow travel us to the nearest hospital?"

"I might.But it will be amazingly risky.Hospitals are always under surveillance.I don't know what the Mist could do with showing up out of nowhere." I said."Are you sure you want me too?"

I glanced down at my dad. He seemed so helpless, so lost of life. He's too young. I can't let him die, I thought. Redirecting my attention to Kai, I gave him a nod, and said, "Yes."
