I nodded. After that, I heard foot steps. Loud, giant foot steps. "What the heck is that?" Harper exclaimed. I was afraid to admit it, but I did. "The Minotuar."

I unsheathed my celestial bronze sword. "We can handle this," I said. "Aaron, Sadie, and the rest of you, go hide somewhere." There was no argument when I said that. They sprinted away as fast as they could. "Kai, let's go." I opened the door and walked outside. I was right, it was the minotuar. Head of a bull, body of a man. Definietly it.

The minotuar moved in closer, making loud, giant footsteps. Followed by a tremendous roar. "Crap," I said. I positioned me and my sword into an Ancient Greek battle stance, and then shouted the battle cry the ancient Athenians did thousands of years ago. "Alala!" It was supposed to emulate the cry of an owl, the bird of their city's patron goddess, and my mom, Athena. The minotuar flung it's hand at us, I quickly dodged, but I was to quick to even catch a glimps of what Kai did.

The only offense I had was my sword, and I didn't even think that was enough. I didn't have any special powers, I just inherited my mother's wisdom. That's about it. Sure, I probably am a skilled fighter, much like my mom, but there was absolutly no way I could defend myself with one small sword. I advanced forward, only to be picked up, and hurled at a tree. "Argh."

I struggled to my feet. "Kai, I'm alright," I said with a gasp. My eye twitched invulentarily. Returning myself into my original battle stance, I charged forward. The minotuar swatted me to the side, but I regained balance, and charged again. The minotuar swatted once more, and I quickly dodged, landing on it's shoulder. It tried to shake me off, but I held on to it's horn tightly. "Ugh... Kai, help!"

I didn't hear a word she said.The rage was setting in.My eyes flared and I jumped toward the Minotaur with my sword.

As Kai jumped on the minotuar, I slashed at it's horn. The horn quickly fell to the surface of the earth. The minotuar let out a roar so loud it almost made me go deaf. I mean seriously, I was on it's shoulder for gods sake! It attempted to shake me off again, but it failed as I hung on to it's nose ring, which left me dangling near it's mouth. Not my best idea, but even us Athena kids make mistakes. I coughed as it breathed on my face, it's breath smelled of garlic. It let out another rour, and I let go of it's nose ring. I plumeted to the ground screaming "Ahh!"

I landed on it's neck.I brought my sword down on it.But before I could hit it,I was tossed a few hundred feet into someone's flower garden.

Once I landed, I got up, and stood my ground. Come on, Melina. How did Theseus defeat the minotuar? I jumped to the side as the minotuar picked up a car from the street, and threw it at me. I turned around to check on Kai. Hopefully he wasn't hit by the car.

Unfornateatly,her hopes did nothing.The car hit me.I rolled out from under it."Now,you stupid cow,I'm taking you out." My cast was totally crushed.I didn't feel anything but severe pain.Other than my arm,nothing was probably broken.As the blood trickled from my mouth,I yelled at the Minotaur again.

"No, Kai!" I faced the minotuar. I was enraged, I was determined, I was utterly ticked. This was never like me, but I was fuming. I was unable of controling my emotions this time, which was never like me. I advanced forward. The minotuar swung it's arm at me, but I somehow dodged, and began running up it's arm. I've never felt this powerful before, until I noticed something. Surrounding my body was a beam of bright gray-colored light. It even outlined my sword as well. It finally came to me. I was given the blessing of Athena.

I started sprinting a little faster than the average human. Only a little faster. I had finally reached it's shoulder. The horn I sliced off was still gone, so I had nothing to hang on to if he tried to shake me off again. I had to rely on my insticts this time. It tried to slap me off it's shoulder, but I quickly dodged. "Take this!" I stabbed my sword in it's head. It let out a large roar, much larger than when we first saw him just a few minutes ago. It fell over in all it's agony, I quickly jumped off and landed safely on my feet. I couldn't believe I was capable of doing that. The minotuar disinegrated into ashes, and the bright gray beam of light that outlined my body vanished.

I stumbled toward her."Well,that's over." I said,as if we had done no damage.My cuts healed quickly.Literally,like,superfast.I scraped the bits of my cast off my arm."I've been meaning to get rid of that." The healing thing was only temporary.Usually that never happens.It was just a bonus of my earlier rage.

I embraced him. "I'm glad you're okay," I said. I thought about how my mother gave me her blessing in the battle. It seemed impossible for anyone other than a big three child to defeat the minotuar, but Kai and I survived. My mom's blessing helped me defeat it. After all this time I never thought she watched over me, but she does. She helped me!

I smiled."Why wouldn't I be okay?I just got smashed into a flower garden and got hit by a flying car.Just my typical Saturday." I said with a laugh.

I laughed with him. "Yeah, I guess it's like that for all of us demigods." Without knowing, my siblings were spying on us from the entrance of my dad's home. Aaron was being, well, Aaron. Harper and Sadie were giggling and making remarks about me and Kai's relationship, and Nathaniel stood there with a straight face, arms crossed. He was leaning up against the door with his foot positioned behind him. He had seen me recieve the blessing of Athena, and I'm sure everyone else did too, but he was the only one to actually take note of it.

"I think we should follow your advice. We're guilty of spying also," I wispered. My siblings came running forward. "Nice job guys," Sadie complimented. "That thing picked up that car and threw it at you guys! No offense, but that looked awesome!" exclaimed Aaron. I've been here long enough to know my half-sibling's personalities, and yeah, that was definietly Aaron. "Athena gave you her blessing," Nathaniel said. His voice made it sound like a bad thing. Maybe it was because he was mortal and didn't really understand, but the way he said it made me a little uncomfortable. "Well... Yeah..." I replied.

"I'm not saying it's a bad thing," Nathaniel stated. "I'm simply saying that now that you've been blessed by Athena, it means you've become worthy to her. That you've lived up to her expectations, and became stronger than most of your siblings." "Well, yeah, so?" I questioned. "So you become more dangerous, and a threat to mortals. You put their lives in danger just by being around them. You attracted the minotuar here, there is no telling of what else you'll be able to attract." After thinking it over, Nathaniel was right. I was a threat now, I could get them killed. That's the last thing I've ever wanted, to kill someone. And now, I'm might get the complete opposite of that.

I didn't know how to reassure her.I knew how she felt.Being a deadly threat to mortals wasn't the happiest thing in the world.It was pretty much the opposite.

BIC: I glanced down at the ground. Nathaniel was right, this is why my step-mom wanted me dead. She knew the minotuar was going to come somehow, and that I'd recieve the blessing of Athena. But how did she know? She was only mortal, it wasn't making any sence!
