When I'm Gone {Open to anybody}

Nick had his eyes squeezed tight with fear, his arms constricting Kaitlin tightly to his chest. He looked pretty much like a scared little boy at this moment in time. He opened one eye just a bit and looked around. Then he opened both eyes and looked under him. He grip never loosened.

I slowly open my eyes. Well, I could open my eyes, which was good. I lift my head up a bit. "Nick...where's Levi?" I ask him. I practically had view of the whole beach, and the horse was nowhere to be found.

"Who? Oh, right. Yeah...I dunno. She ran off, I think." Nick loosened a bit and then scractched his head, "I also think that she wasn't really Levi. I think she may have been a automaton or something like that."

I nod slowly. "Oh." I get up and stretch out. "How do we get back to camp?" Camp was aways down the beach.

"We walk. Or hitchike. Whichever comes first." He said grinning as he got off the thing and landed lightly on the soft sand of the mortal beach. Or course it wasn't as soft as the sand but it was ok.

I smile softly. "We're not hitchiking. Unless it's someone we know. The fact that a complete stranger can just drive off with us unnerves me..." My best friend got kidnapped because she needed a ride home, and went in a car with a middle-aged man. Ugh.

I wonder along the beach, trying to avoid going back. I wasn't going back. No, I was free. Then again, anyone could bring me back. Trying to stay out of the way of the others, I run along the edge of the water, making wet sand fly up around me. "Ah . . ."
