We Have To Find Macy

I look from Davian to Aaron and nod curtly at his plan. "You. Are. Insane. Let's hope it helps us get your sister." I suddenly go limp as one of them ties up my hands tightly with some seemingly impenetrable material. I get dragged too, thankfully the same way as Davian. For one second, there is nothing between us, so I hold his hand quickly and kiss his cheek. There was little to no chance that after Hades saw us we'd make it out alive, but still. If at least one of us made it out alive, I'd call this quest a success.

Only a few seconds after what I thought would be my last human contact ever, I feel Davian's lips pressed to mine. I hold them to me for a second longer before I get kicked in the back of the knee by one of the monsters. I hear it heave as the skeleton requests help carrying me from another one. They both seem to "ick" and "gross" at what it had seen between Davian and me, but all I can do is thank the gods for this one last chance. My one opportunity. Davian knew, and so did I. I loved him, and he loved me. "it'll be okay." The statement was meant for Davian, but it seemed to be more for myself. Maybe- just maybe- we could find Macy. We could find her, and everything would be okay.

Finally, Davian felt the floor smooth out. He looked down. Was that tile? He looked up and around a noticed the regal appearance of the room. Could it be Hades palace place? He hoped so. The skeletons stood them all up and gave them a shove towards the middle of the room. The whole place seemed much different from the whole depressing underworld theme going on.
"It looks like Hades has some taste in room decor." Davian said laughing.

"Actually, that would be my work." came a voice from the stairs they were just brought up. Davian turned at the words. They were a bit bitter and echoed of a once lost songful ring to them. It was Persephone.

I bow at the Underworld queen as she rounds the corner to see us. "Queen Persephone," I say respectfully, yet fearfully. She was the first god I had ever encountered, and I knew that I could turn into a pile of pansies if I showed too much fear or disrespect. "H-how are you doing today?"

I look back at Aaron sorry that he was getting the worst of the luck. Getting up as she asked of us, I continue Davian's thought. "She is Davian here's sister, your highness, and she's gone missing. We got some clues that she may be here someplace." I really hoped that she did not think that I was jumping to any conclusions that would make her angry. I could tell she was miserable here, and i was hoping that she could go on Earth soon with her mother, Demeter.

At the newfound news that the boatman- I guess actually boatwoman- was Macy. "Davian, Her Highness here is right. Her leaving ain't got anything to do with you. She still loves you. maybe we can somehow talk some sense into her. After everything we've done to get here, she'll have to at least hear us out." His hand comes into mine in a feeble attempt to calm him down. "And this wasn't a complete loss anyway. We -ummm- we..." I'm lost. "Oh yeah! We got to know each other!" That was the lamest answer. EVER.

When he pulls me to him in a hug, I smile and wipe his cheek with my finger. "Of course, Dav. I love you. And thank you for letting me come on this adventure with you." Next, I had to untie somebody, so I walk over to Aaron. "Sorry 'bout that, Aaron." As I finish untying him, I stupidly look up at his frozen captors. A chill runs down my spine, but I have to continue. After my knife cuts through the last bit of the rock-solid material, I hold his hand and pull him over to us. Now my attention focuses to Persephone. "Um, do you have any suggestions on how we save her, ma'am?" This next part of our quest was going to be hard, and I had no clue on even how to begin.

While we waited for Davian's sister, a million thoughts raced through my mind, the most predominant being the stupidest: "What would she think of mw being here with her baby brother?" Oh gods, Kallie. You should e thinking something productive like, "What if she's a psychopathic killer who's going to rip your head from your shoulders for no reason?" or maybe "What if she can't even remember who her family is or why she hates the gods?"

So all I could do to keep myself sane was talking to Aaron and Davian. "So how do you suppose we get the four of us out of here alive?"
