We Have To Find Macy

"Ooh. Shadow travel. Cool." I didn't trust Hades kids- I just didn't- but I never traveled by shadow. In fact, I prefered horse travel. Or car travel.

It was nice to hear Davian and Colby talking to this boy some of the pressure was off of me. I wasn't excited to be relying on shadow travel, but it was the only way. And Macy needed help. I look back to Davian just to see his sparkling eyes in the perfect position. The streetlight was reflecting its life yo his amazing eyes. And his hair... it made me jealous that I wasn't a blonde beauty from Aphrodite or even like Alexia, his sister. Snapping back into reality, I smile and try to play nice with the boy. I hesitantly remove my hand from Davian's and hold it out to shake the boy's. "As Davian said, I'm Kallie. It's nice to meet you. What should we know about you, our savior?"

I quickly take Davian's hand again and laugh slightly. "Next stop, the Underworld," I murmur quietly to myself. Once again, I squeeze Davian's hand and look at his tired face. Poor Dav. I couldn't imagine what he must be going through. "It'll all be okay. And we can sleep soundly once everything is done." The lie burned in my throat as I spoke it, but it had to be said. I had no clue what in Hades we'd be doing to save poor Macy, but the only thing I knew for sure was that we were going to die. I didn't mind dying myself- another lie to myself- but... No. I couldn't even imagine young, innocent Colby or this brave, kind Aaron dying. I couldn't even think of Davian dy-. No. I couldn't let myself think of it. I could never forgive myself if I let that happen.

After closing my eyes during the travel, I open my eyes to find myself on a hard ground with my hand still intertwined with Dav's. "Well that was pretty dang fun!" I exclaim a little too loudly. It's true though. It was fun! The feeling that I was zooming through space.

I get on with Davian and hold his hand tightly. I'd never been this scared before in my entire life, but I wasn't going to et that show. Nervously, I whisper into Davian's ear. "What's your plan to find Macy?" I had no clue how we were planning on finding her in this already-huge place, let alone rescuing her from here. Or even saving ourselves... I suddenly feel an urge to look over at our driver, so I do. There was something strange about it. Of course it would feel weird being around a dead person, but this felt... almost essential. It was essential that I looked at him/her/it.

I look over at Aaron and see him being attacked. I grab my sword and turn one to dust before the other one sees me. "Dav? A little help, please?" This was not a good omen. Our moment in the Underworld, and a monster... thing... comes out of the water and tries to kill Aaron.

As Davian takes my hand and one of the skeletons turns to dust by my sword, I see a shadow follow behind us. We had no time to look back, though. Macy, Macy, Macy. We had to find her and get out alive. I had no time to look back at the shape or at anything. I just ran beside Davian, making sure that our hands never left each other's. There was no room for error at all. And if I was going to die, I wanted it to be with Davian close to me.

I let go of Davian and backflip to kick one of the skeletons out of his way. I see that one of them dropped a weapon- a simple scythe- so I use it to kill that same monster. Davian's cry for help rings in my ears next. As if it was instinct, I run and see him being dragged away. I try to grab his bow from about ten feet away, but one of the skeletons steps its foot on it just in time for me to already be heading toward it. I decide to wait 'til later to grab that- [i]if got out. Instead, I go for the skeletons surrounding Davian. There were so many, I couldn't have counted them in a year. I take out two with my sword, but then more come flooding in from Hades knows where, and I'm just as stuck as Davian. [color=cyan]"I'll get them, Dav," I promise him, unsure if I really could. I come after him and cut through about five monsters before finding one I couldn't get through. I fight it, going to the ground and attacking from behind when necessary. Soon enough, its arm dissolves into dust, and I finish it off with a jab in the gut. As the dust floats around, I realize that this was the last line of defense. I'm back-to-back with Davian.
