Charlie Brown Christmas Tree

As I walked through the rows and rows of evergreens, none of them seemed to stand out to me. Back home, we never had a tree. Not a real one anyway. Miami offered us only palm Christmas trees. I sit down, now hopeless to finding Apollo's perfect tree.

I entered a forest that seemed to sprang on forever with pine trees. Campers hogged trees in packs, trying to find the perfect one. I noticed a girl looking hopelessly at the trees.

I plant my face in the ground. Before what seems like an hour but was truly two seconds, I hear a girl enter the forest. "Leave me to die," I cry out, my voice muffled from the dirt. "I have failed the house of Apollo, the great healer and poet. I do not deserve to see the light of day," I add dramatically.

I raised an eyebrow. Is this girl crazy? "So...your gonna kill yourself just because of an Christmas tree..." I replied.

I lift my head in confusion. My eyebrow twitches in frustration with myself. "I shall not kill myself, for that would be an insult to the life I was honored with." I pull myself up to my knees, and I stand up quickly. I hoped this chick understood sarcasm... It seemed as if she didn't. "I have not been able to accomplish the one task I have been honored to help with. Only one assignment for me, and I have been defeated."

"Ooh..." I said. I looked up at the sky, bored.

I look up quizzically at the strange girl. "I'm using sarcasm. Ever heard of it. I'm just mad, that's all. Dad's the god of art and therefor beauty too, and I can't even pick out a perfect tree to honor him."
