A Daughter of Aphrodite...in basketball shoes [open]

I wasn't much of a Green Day person, I was more of a Taylor Swift person. Or a Renae Maloney, my best friend kind of person.

I nod. "Those too." I take out my iPod, the new model, so I clicked 'When I Come Around', music burst out of the built in speakers. I hummed the tune. "Cause ya know itll all be fine..." I sing quietly.

I smiled. I liked this guy already. He was cute, he didn't know my father, he liked the same type of music I did, did I mention he was cute?

I take out the newest generation of the Ipod Touch. I put the earbuds in my ears and start to listen to Our Song by Taylor Swift. This song was one of my favorites along with Teardrops on my Guitar, You Belong with Me, and Love Story.

I lower the volume so we can still hear each other talk. "So, youre pretty cool, Emily."

~Oh lol. I thought you were talking to me for a sec.

"Thanks." I said blushing, "You aren't too bad your-" As soon as I said that, it happened. I was bathed in a pink light and when I looked down my athlectic shorts and beat-up Converse were gone. In their places were high heels with long skinny jeans and a nice top. I gasped and I knew this was the work of a goddess.
~She was just claimed by Aphrodite.

My eyes widen. "Aphrodite...you!" I was at a loss of words.

"Make-up! Agh!" I said running my hands down my now flawless hair. "Eww...I'm all girly!"

I laugh. "I kinda liked you better before."

"Thanks, but that's not the problem!" I yelled. I rifled through my bag and found a small metal mirror that supposedly belonged to my mother. Agh, my hair was perfect and I was wearing make-up.

"Here." I walked over and messed her hair up.

I smiled as I looked into the mirror. Unfortunately it looked as if the hair was repairing itself. "Crap...it must be the blessing of Aphrodite, I've heard about." I muttered as I furrowed my now perfectly waxed eyebrows.

I frown. "Well, wanna get away from camp? I assume that you dont want anyone to see you like this?"

"Well...if we go out into public there's a chance that the media would recognize me." I said without thinking.

"Regconize?" I ask.

"Uhh...um..." I couldn't think of anything. Stupid big mouth.

I wavd my hand dismissivly. "Doesnt matter. But dont you usually wear ratty t-shirts and Converse? Noones gonna reconize you. And if they do, Ill just use the mist. No bigee." The song changed to Basket Case.

"I dunno, it might not work..." I said thinking about the fact that I did wear ratty clothes and that the papparazzi might not recognize me if I was dressed nicely. And I did only dress nice for dad's award shows, which dressing nice for me was wearing jeans, leather jackets and nicer Converse.

"Come on. I need to buy a present for Penelope and Wesley."

"Can I take my stuff to the Aphrodite cabin?"
~We'll skip that part.

"Yeah, sure, Ill wait here."
