A Daughter of Aphrodite...in basketball shoes [open]

I trudged up the hill kinda grumpy 'cause my dad told me I had to go to camp while he was on tour...oh boo him. He was no fun. Although the last he went on tour I broke my collar bone.

I walk up the hill, bored as Hades. Nothing was going on in camp. I flipped my hair. As I walk up the hill, a see a very pretty girl. Daughter of Aphrodite, I knew it. I knew every person in camp-she must be new. At least my hair hid my blush. I walk up to her. "Um. Hi. Im A.J. Welcome to camp."

I jumped when I heard a voice. I turned around and sighed, "Sorry, you gave me a fright." I apologized, "I'm Emily...Way." I said my last name quietly. Odds were, he knew my dad, Gerard Way. Lead singer of My Chemical Romance, and he would probably freak out if he knew that I was Gerard's daughter. Much like everyone else does.

I lean against Thalia's pine. "So, daughter of Aphrodite?" I ask. I disregarded the way she said her last name. Seemed like she didnt like it. I knew how THAT felt.

"Not that I know of." I said confused. I wasn't pretty enough to be a daughter of Aphrodite...was I? Nah, I liked basketball shoes and Converse wayyy too much.

"Well, you look it." Oh my gods, was I flirting? It took all my willpower to stop a facepalm. I didnt realize what I was saying. It just flowed out of my mouth.

I blushed a light shade of pink. "Naw..." I said smiling as I examined my old ratty Converse. I'd had them for how many years...two?

I followed her gaze. "Nice shoes." Stupid, stupid, stupid.

"My dad got them for me when he was on to-" I stopped myself mid-sentence from exposing my heritage.

"Anyway, I like them," I smile. Whaever she didnt want to say, Id probably find out later.

"Thanks." I said quietly.

I blush.

"So..." I shifted my bag weight to the other shoulder. My sack was on my back and full of my toiletries and whatnot. My duffel was on my shoulder and getttin' heavy. My bass case was laying on the ground, with my bass in it.

I nod towards the case. "You play? Cool."

"Yeah..." I said nodding my head and kicking at the ground with my shoe.

"What can you play?" I ask.

"Rock...Green Day, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach...My Chemical Romance..." I said my father's band quietly.

I shrug. "Cool. Even though the only band Ive heard of is Green Day."

I sighed a sigh of relief. Thank gods he doesn't know who My Chemical Romance is... "So...what's your favorite song by Green Day?"

I walk to the hill. I went here when I tried to think. I saw someone beautiful. Were they wearing... basketball shoes? I couldn't make them out but I was pretty sure that's what they were. I walk over to the girl.

As a girl approaches me, I automatically look her over and decide whether or not she's a demigod or monster. After my trip here I was a little weary about people.

"Are you a daughter of Aphrodite?" I say straight out wanting to know the truth. Obviously she was on the hill so she had to be a demi-god or something greek. I stand there waiting for her to reply.

I nod to the other girl. Then I turn back to Emily. "Probably Basket Case or Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Then American Idiot and When I Come Around."

~I'm reading the Lost Hero. It's sooo goood! Of course I'm into Greek Mythology.

"I don't know why everyone is asking me if I'm a child of Aphrodite..." I said sighing. I looked at A.J. "Good songs, my favorite is East Jesus Nowhere, then Wake Me Up When September Ends, then When I Come Around."
