So I decided to start writing poetry because we're starting it in my English class and I want to improve and impress my teacher before we start making poems in class. Anyways, here's the first couple that I made. I don't know if they're good or not, that's for you guys to decide.
Diary of a Madman

Why do we Run?
Are we scared? Afraid?
We Run.
That's all we do.
   Running
      Running
         Running

Never stopping, Never slowing.
And yet we drop
Drop like leaves to the ground
   Falling
      Falling
         Falling

We Fall.
Why do we Fall?
Are we tired? Have we lost hope?
After we Run, we Fall
And then we Scream
   Screaming
      Screaming
         Screaming

Always Screaming
Why do we Scream?
Is it out of fear? Concern?
After Screaming comes Dying
   Dying
      Dying
         Dying

Remember Dying.
Dying is inevitable
Die.
That's all we were build to do
Die.

This is the Diary of a Madman
And it will never stop until the clocks stop ticking and clicking
   Tick
      Tick
         Ticking
and
   Click
      Click
         Clicking

I like to think that the speaker of this poem is a grandfather. However, you can put in anybody for the speaker.
Wonderland

I once knew a girl
Such a bright and happy girl
I wonder what happened to that girl
She was gone such a long time
No one could find that girl
"I"m going to Wonderland" the girl said
No one believed her.

I once could jump in the meadow with joy
But that joy was vanished with the girl
I wonder if she's happy, I hope she is, that girl
Everyone has gone away. They've forgotten about her.
But not I.
"I'll find you." I say to the missing girl
No one believed me.

I once found a girl
The same girl I knew. But different.
I no longer wonder where she went. I went there too, long ago
She is taken away from me
I here them asking her where she ran off to
"Wonderland." The girl replies. "Lies!" They scream. "Truth!" I sing.
Of course, no one believed us.

I'm Sorry
I'm sorry I'm not perfect.
I'm sorry I'm not silver and gold
I'm sorry I'm not pretty
I'm sorry I'm not smart
I'm sorry I'm not perfect
I'm sorry I'm not a piece of art.

I'm sorry I'm not perfect.
But who says I want to be?

This is very much a Doctor Who inspired poem, based off of what I felt when the Doctor regenerated, and what I felt after I saw the new one preform and worm his way into my heart. If you don't watch DW, 1) You totally should and 2) Just think of it as a boy/girlfriend instead of the Doctor.
You Told Me to Run
When I first met you, you told me to Run
And I Ran, because
I trusted you
I followed you.
I did what ever you said
Because I knew that you'd always be there for me
Because you always were.

I adored you, god how I adored you
And then you changed
Once snarky and sarcastic, now clever and fast
With great hair
God, you have great hair
But can I still trust you?
Would you still always be there for me?

The answer is; I don't know.
I loved the old you, because you were mine
this new you scares me
I want to go with you
But will I be okay?
Like I was before?

You told me to Run
and I did.
I ran into your arms once again.
I could always trust you, no matter how many times you changed
You were mine
And I was yours
Until the End of Time
and back again

Little Soldier Boy

Little solider boy
playing with bullets like they’re toys
your heart is made of wondrous things
silver and gold and you’re the king.

Little solider boy
All tucked in bed
Mind you, watch your head.
For there’s goblins and ghosts
and monsters and demons
All fit to gobble you up.

Little solider boy
wanting to do good
wishing the world
would stay as it should
all bundled up all nice and tight
like a present on christmas night.

Little solider boy
labeled murderer
labeled maths teacher
labeled lover.

Little solider boy
watching a girl from afar
letting your heart spill slightly ajar
bumbling and stuttering you make your way
and you say the things you’ve always wanted to say.

Little solider boy
watch out for that car
for if you don’t you’ll surely be marred
no one can help you in the land of the dead
but maybe a phone call can bring hope to you instead.

Little solider boy
don’t press delete
you’ve got so much to give
and someone to meet.
