The night was Sawyer's best friend. It was a fact known to majority of the demigods back at Camp Half-Blood. As a son of the god of darkness, he found extreme comfort in knowing he would be protected by a blanket of darkness when night rolled by. Everyday, he found himself yearning for the night from the moment he woke up. It was such a terrible thing. Waiting and waiting for the sun to set and to be greeted by the moon above, only to have it vanish only a few hours later. He and the night had a bittersweet friendship. It was the sort of relationship that Sawyer wished he would never experience with Victoria Russo.
During the entire span of their friendship, it seemed as if he were locked in a daydream. It was very surreal to find somebody who could make Sawyer feel the way he does whenever the daughter of Chaos is around. He could feel his fingertips tingle and butterflies swarming in the pit of his stomach. A wave of uneasiness would wash through him whenever he would find himself gazing into her eyes, which he could never decipher what specific color they were. At times, they would be a blazing blue color and other times, he found flecks of gold in them. He could stare into them forever.
He couldn't explain his friendship with her. Sure, they went to the Valentine's dance together and yeah, he kissed her playfully on the cheek more times than he should've, but they haven't defined their relationship. It was no doubt that he had developed a crush on her. The question is: did she feel the same way?
On the second Saturday of the month, Sawyer found himself in Manhattan at 8 pm waiting for Victoria. For the past four months, they had begun a tradition wherein they would spend time together to explore New York like they were mortal tourists and not a pair of demigods every second Saturday of the month after dinner. They had met that way. During their introductions, both initially didn't know they were both half-bloods. It was a brief moment of normalcy, something that the two of them treasured. The first month, they visited The Rockefeller Center, and the second, they wandered around The Metropolitan Museum of Art for an hour until it closed before grabbing ice cream at Serendipity. Last month, they watched a show on Broadway and the month before that, they watched a concert at Radio City Music Hall. Today, Sawyer planned that they would do something that he has always wanted to do in the city: travel around Central Park.
Sawyer was stationed by a bed of tulips, the Plaza Hotel on his right and the Apple store on his left. The summer air around him was warm, yet he stuck his hands in the pockets of his jeans. He had informed Victoria about their meeting place earlier and hoped she wouldn't get lost on the way. He glanced at the silver Omega Speedmaster watch around his wrist before he averted his gaze to his surroundings. When his light blue eyes landed on a certain brunette approaching, his entire demeanor shifted. His eyes brightened and a huge grin broke out on his lips. "I was starting to think that I got stood up," he joked, wrapping an arm around Victoria's shoulder when she approached him. "But then I remembered that you're too nice to ditch a loser like me."

Victoria Cheyanne Russo Daughter of Chaos --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Victoria sinks back into the leather set of the taxi, and closes her eyes. In side her head, she replays images of all the times she and Sawyer have done stuff together in the city. There was the concert at Radio City Music Hall, The Broadway show, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and icecream at Serendipity. Thinking about them, made Victoria smile widely. Opening her eyes, she looks down at her watch. Seven forty, she has twenty minutes until she is supposed to meet Sawyer. She can make it. Leaning forward, she opens her mouth to speak to the cabbie. "Go a little faster?"she asks before leaning back again.
Twenty one minutes later, they arrive at the edge of Central Park. Paying the driver, Victoria climbs out of the cab. She then looks around for her friend. Is he just her friend? Or is he more? She's not exactly sure. She will have to ask him about that. Biting her lip, she starts to walk around. Then she spots him, just in front of the Plaza hotel. Smiling, she starts to walk towards him.
Hearing his comments, Victoria only smiles wider. "I was thinking about it"she says jokingly. "But then I realized it would be too mean"she adds. She then smiles and rests her head against his shoulder, as he wraps his arm around her shoulder. "So, what are we doing tonight?"she asks him. Like every other time they had done this, Sawyer had waited until the last possible second to tell her the plans. Though she did get the feeling, they would be doing something in the Park.
"Whatever it is, I just hope we can get food"she says with a small smile. "I am so hungry. I could eat a cow, and the rest of the barn"she adds, this time laughing at the end. It was exaggeration of course, but the demi-titan is very hungry. She had eaten dinner of course, but Vic always seems to be hungry.

Sawyer feels completely at ease around Victoria. All traces of worry and anxiety has left the eighteen year old at the sight of his crush. For a moment, he believes that he's a normal kid. Training at Camp Half-Blood doesn't exist and he doesn't have to fight at an illegal underground fight club to pay for his mother's rent. Unfortunately, the night can't last forever. He knows that both of them will have to return to camp and face reality once again. But in the meantime, he just wants to enjoy his time with Victoria.
Chuckling, he shakes his head at Victoria's reply. Each time he'd schedule their ritual, he refused to inform her about their plans. That detail irritated Victoria greatly. Sawyer couldn't help it; he liked seeing the bewilderment cross her face whenever he'd present her with their activity for the night. He liked seeing the way her eyes would light up and a smile grace her heart-shaped lips. Since both of them aren't originally from New York, they had a small moment during their busy lives to act like tourists.
"I've always wanted to explore Central Park," he begins, sliding his arm down her arm to settle his hand on her hip. The gesture is extremely rique and Sawyer wonders if it's too much. "I knew you'd say that," he says with a laugh. "T'was a good thing I got us a reservation at the Lakeside Restaurant at the boathouse in Central Park."
He begins to lead her to the park, his hand firm around her hip. His other hand pulls down on the navy blue collared shirt he's wearing, hoping that what he's wearing is at least appropriate. He continues, "And the boathouse is kind of far from where we are, so in order to get there…"
A few more steps later, Sawyer comes to a halt before a four-wheeled vehicle. The steed that is linked to the coach is grand and a dusty white color. "We're going to take a carriage ride."
Sawyer pulls his hand away from Victoria and stuffs it in the pocket of his jeans. He looks at her sheepishly, hoping she'd like the idea. She deserved a date fit for a princess and he only wanted to give her the very best.
He glances at the person manning the carriage and offers a small smile. "Hey, Jeremiah. Good to see you again."
The old man with a receding hairline nods in reply. "Tell your mom I say hello next time you see her."
"Will do." Sawyer nods. He turns to Victoria, holding out a hand to help her up the glossy black carriage. "You ready?"

Victoria smile slightly as she listens to him talk. The evening sounds really fun! It might be the best evening yet, that's for sure. Dinner, exploring, carriage ride? It seems absolutely perfect. Sawyer has really managed to out do himself this time. She can't believe that each time, it gets better and better. How does he do it? She should make a point to ask him about that.
Biting her lip, Victoria slowly smiles. "Oh yay! I have always wanted to explore the park. And a boathouse for dinner? That sounds exciting!"she says with a lot of excitement. It all sounds very exciting to her. Her smile only widens when she sees the carriage. "I have always wanted to go on a carriage ride!"she says to him.
Taking his handle, she steps into the carriage. She sits down on one of the plush benches and smiles. Sitting back, she looks over at Sawyer and smiles. She then takes the time to look around the park. It's all so beautiful, tonight is going to be a night to remember and to never ever ever forget. "I'm ready"she says softly. Then as the carriage goes, she looks around at the outside.
After a few minutes, she looks away to look at Sawyer. She smiles widely and stares at him just a bit. She can't help but notice how close they are sitting. "Thank you. Tonight has been really fun so far!"she says to him. Victoria then leans back into the seat, and smiles lightly. Nervously biting her lip, she looks out the carriage once more.
