| My story begins on an overcast day in January, I was coming off a two month forum operation which recently crashed. Needless to say I was on a downer. My brother, whom had the same fascination with fantasy novels and roleplaying was helping me scout around for a more permanent site. Of course my thoughts were 'What could be better than what I had?' Thank the gods I was wrong, my brother and I both made an account, him before me (Thanks Dad for the impeccable timing of needing a lunch break) and so I came on and met some of my first friends, who I now can proudly call my family.
Off the top of my head I can name 3 or 4.. There was Hunter11, Luke Castellan, and Annastasia.23 (whom we now know as Bunny) and I can't quite remember if Kendall was there as Youbelongwithme though with my memory she will let me know ~.~. Anyways I arrived upon the scene as my first and best character yet. Katie Firebird daughter of Apollo. I wouldn't realize however for a few days that there was a lack of Admins on the forum xD. It was pretty sweet! We smashed up some baddies, "killed Kronos" and celebrated with smoothies. Really that was it. For the next few weeks on a day to day basis we hung out a camp, beating the living snapcracklepop outta everyone who crossed our path. It was also around that time I met, Gazimu, Jehowell, Inaniloquist, and Yume. You may be thinking that back then even Gaz and I were buddies. Nope, in fact I can't really remember speaking more than a few words to each other. Jeho and I weren't exactly 'tight' but we were friends and respected each other. But Yume was amazinful, I remember stalking her posts like it was my business. And again I really only knew Inan through his posts, we never really talked in depth, never the less though I still recognized he was a genius back then.
Those were the days in which every member was equal, there were no colors except for the regular run of the mill gray and white. So we decided that upon determining self chosen Cabin Leaders, suggested by Jake Firebird, we would have a party/dance. So we did, "The Mess Hall Dance" or something along the lines of that. I think Daveyp or Panda came up with that but we did, that would be the first 'event' the entire thing was just a blur, but I seem to recall in the aftermath someone's character getting shot and going to Hades' realm.. It's fuzzy.
Time came and passed bringing in newer members, Alexia, Moo, Angel, Remp, Selene, Dean. And all that crowd, but of course the one who stuck out in my mind was MasterMax. I don't think I actually EVER roleplayed with Max, but just seeing her post different things and have that royalblue color with the centered font and size 11 words meant you could recognize every post she made. Those few weeks were mostly a blur. I talked with my usual gang and for one of the first times I was thinking a few things, more or less it was 'Wouldn't it be cool if I were an Admin and we could get everything organized' and 'Wow, some of us actually have a seniority' (Yes I know what you're thinking. But my ego was even bigger back then.)
I think these are the days i'll remember most fondly, the days in which no one cared if you blew up the beach or had s'mores with hellhounds in the woods. Those were the days where I began to have some serious time to myself and online. Finally came the day where I just didn't get on. I was too busy doing the stuff I needed to get done to be online. The next day, same story, this continued for about half a month. The day I got back on was one where so many possibilities were opened up. I think, when I first saw Aelia's blue name I first thought, 'There's no way that can be her' [It was probably more something like "OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG AELIA :D:D:D:D"] She had returned and made a post about how much we had grown and she had never expected us to become so big.
She asked us if we would please, since she didn't have the time to, pick one or two people we think would be suited to becoming Admin. I remember quite clearly reading through many of the posts with either confusion as to the identity of the poster, or hope that this person would become a future Admin of CHB. I clearly remember reading Inan's and Max's introductions and welcomes. And I remember reading Alexis' with the thought of "Who are you?"
The day came where Aelia posted the results, and soon we had 3 new Admin among our ranks who were performing above and beyond any expectations anyone could have predicted. I remember talking to Inan and congratulating him on the well deserved position. I remember hinting in a not-so-subtle way, in my interest of helping improve the forum further by volunteering to become a Moderator. And so it was, Panda Heart and I were promoted to Moderator not shortly thereafter.
Life came and went. Kendall joined our Mod Squad and that was that for the summer of 2010 all the way up until lil ol' December 20th. It was a day of surprises. All three Moderators were removed from the group and replaced without warning. Max had resigned some months ago citing personal reasons. And Inan had begun to drift away from the forum. In the span of one day, Zan and Music, were promoted into Adminship, and Dan, Pink, Selene, Angel, and Crispy Bacon, were promoted into Mods.
This would have gone off without a hitch barring the lack of communication between those previously demoted. We had been doing our job as we thought to an acceptable standard, with the exception of Panda who had started drifting into the realms of inactivity, and to be demoted and cast aside with no warning was not something I was willing to take laying down.
I contacted the Admins and called them out on the chatbox. After a heated argument in which accusations were made and names were thrown about resulted in myself leaving for a night spending with my sister to celebrate my 16th birthday.
When I returned the next day, a sick sight in my e-mail made me question what my internet life meant. It was a notification telling me that my account on Camp Halfblood had been terminated and that I had been IP banned. Using a combination of programming and luck I was able to bypass the Ban and send the parameters of the situation to those on the staff whom I still had faith in. Crispy Bacon, and Zan.
Crispy proceeded to make the topic Here Fully detailing with nothing left to imagination what was going on with the site. And many rallied to the cause. In the aftermath, Music and Alexis stepped down as Admin, and Kendall and Myself were re-instated as Moderators. It was also at this time that Nico stepped into the picture and was given the Cabin Leadership of the Apollo Cabin.
Again, months came and passed bringing many new members, as well as giving old ones a ticket to return to the normals of the outside world. It was during this time that Dan and Crispy became Admins and Jess joined the Moderation staff.
As things began gearing up for the summer, both Angel and I were promoted to Admin to help with gaining the additional members summer would bring. During this time I would also be leaving for Camp. As such Angel and I agreed to bring a temporary Admin into the picture to assist with the work load until I returned. And such, Nico became an Administrator.
I returned from Camp, and everything seemed normal, I was aware that the friend whom I had created the account with was stepping up not only in Role playing but not only her Character Creation rate. I thought nothing much of it as it had never been much of an issue in the past. Until this happened. Boo
Things developed very fast and very quickly. I had not much time to decide what to do with myself and decided moving on may be the best option. I hated it. I cried for hours. I was 16 years old at the time and I went so far as to call my own mother over the phone because the pain of leaving all my friend had gotten to me. I called it quits and developed Jazz, a site that I re-purposed from becoming a backup of CHB into my own personal retreat that I shared with those that I not only missed most but still very much cared about.
It was at this time I revealed who I was. The character of Katie Firebird was based on a friend of mine whom has since moved. I myself was based off of Jake Firebird. So what does that mean? That means that the Katie Firebird whom you think you know was run by two people, not just 1. So she would be the brains behind the characters while I was very good at acting, so much so I became too immersed and thats how I started out to be THE Katie Firebird.
So then you may think, "Who am I?" So I will answer you like this. You know who I am, my personality, my traits are all alike. Here's the only differences, i'm 40% Australian, 30% American & Scottish. I am also a 17 year old male who lives in New Hampshire. Katie on the other hand IS Australian IS 17 years old, and moved to a more northern section of the state. And to wrap it up, Katie wasn't in a car crash, I was. I have 3rd-4th degree burns on my arms and legs, right side of my face, and top of my head. Both our parents are rather abusive, her's more so than mine. So it's partially true, I am contactable, people who have our phone number it's really my phone, it's my e-mail registered, and it's I who's allowed to be on social networking sites.
I'm going to give you some time to digest this information, it's probably hurting you, shocking you, or really making you angry..
I'm sorry for not telling you this when I first started becoming friends with you, but now you know, and you can feel free to talk to me in anyway about it.. ask me questions or whatever.
Moving forward, i'll try and clear up some confusion as to who was who, when.
I, am a near professional gamer, I like, fantasy RP, epic quests, dragons and adventure. I'm not so much a daredevil but a planner.
Katie, is rather promiscuos, daredevilish, and likes to test the limits of nearly everything. She is much more driven towards romance and social interaction/statuses.
I doubt i'll be held in the same regard ever again, and i'm sorry for that. I'm sorry for the pain i've caused you and am most likely causing you now.
I'm still the same person though, but now you know what truly lies on the other side of the screen.
Now onto the reason why I wasn't Jake Firebird more often. When I look back it really comes down to this, when we first began, about a month or so in I had reconstructive surgery. During that time Katie still came on as my "Sister" and had oodles going on. So when I finally returned I felt out of the loop, jake Firebird was just a passing name, while Katie was much higher in social status, we came up with the idea to account share, which lasted pretty long up until the huge fight that broke out.
Most of us know what happened here, but let me break it down to you on our end. The original topic of argument came about when someone, not saying names, pointed out that the characters she created and I posted, were too showy for here. So while I attempted to sort things out here (and failed miserably with it) I was also quarreling with Katie for designing characters like that.
Since then we've had a falling out and rarely talk much anymore. She still visits Jazz as do I, albeit it's test week in New Hampshire, so I can't imagine she would be going on.
I'm truly sorry for all the heartburn we've caused you. If I could go back in time I would try and fix it.. but I can't. Maybe it was for the best though, I met a ton of cool people, Kdawg, Selene, Gaz, Zan, Nico, so many names I can't list them all. I truly hope we're still friends even after this direct infringement of your trust.
Months I went without doing much. I practiced coding and developed small mini games. I partnered up with Gazimu and re-opened The Hunger Games Forum RP. I did what I needed to do, and once I saw the site beginning to take off I packed up ship and moved on again. I had gotten the experience I wanted in not only the Admin panel, but with working with a team and creating the basis of a forum that could go for many years.
I started to play Minecraft. Joining a server named Eirinncraft, one that until recently, I was a very big part of. In not only the community but with the staff. In under the first two months I had secured a moderator position and was learning the fundamentals of working with those of not only a very young age, but also those as old as 65 to create a seamless community that would blend together and have fun with not only their little groups of friendship, but with everyone as a whole.
A few days ago I called together a meeting of the admins. I explained to them what I had learned and went over all the points I had made on my own personal agenda. In the aftermath I wondered what a return to CHB would mean for me, but also the people I once called my friends. And so I then decided. I would come back to CHB until the time was right to move on again, and learn, and come back yet again.
CHB was, is, and will be where I grew up on the internet, it's where my family will be and I record every bit of history I can. So this is my version. This is everything that I can specifically remember since I joined all those days ago, January 13th 2010.
It's good to be back.
After 8 months of being made the history is complete. However I'm not the only one to have done an account. Many other old users also created what they believe to be a summary of their time on CHB. Upon request and approval by said members, I'll also reveal these accounts of CHB.
Happy trails~ Snow | |

| apart from me Good work, Sno. It might have taken me two hours to read through, but I'm glad that you've decided to return. As a commentator at the men's swimming said to an unfortunately named korean [[or was it japanese?]] swimmer, "COME ON MY SUN." I'm sure the site will welcome you back with open arms, even after laying bare your story. :3
