Kit ran towards the first hellhound, his sword already out. He sliced his tail the stabbed his sword in its spine. But, the other two didn't seem to like that. One tackled him to the ground. He swung his bronze sword helplessly. It ripped at his dress shirt. He couldn't help but, think of, what if I die and Anna's left alone with 2 hellhounds? Kit still swung his sword, trying to get up. They had him pinned down. It was a prefect oppurtunity for Anna to strike. "Anna! Now!" He yelled.

Before Kit had spoke, Annabelle had pulled back and released on the bow. She pulled back another arrow as she heard one of the hellhounds scream in pain. She released again, this time aiming at the other hellhound. Then, groping for all of the energy with in her, she dived for the hell hounds, taking out one of her small knives and stabbing the two hellhounds repeatedly until they faded into gold dust.

Annabelle smoothed out her dress and leaned down towards Kit. She leaned forward and asked, "Kit, are you okay? We better go search the restaurant; there could be more!"

Kit was so embaressed. He'd foolishly let two hellhounds take him down. He'd left his girlfriend do to all the fighting. What kind of man was he? He got up and turned for the resturant. He put on a stern-looking face and entered the now broken, glass door. People looked at them like they had murdered a baby. It was the fact that the mist had morphed things. What had actually been 3 hellhounds, appeared to be, 3 small, innocent dogs. Kit wipped the look of his face, it made him look even more like a murderer. He ran for the kitchen, only to find it filled with Dracaenae. Since when had his uncle hired dracaenae for kitchen staff. He motioned for Anna to come over.

Annabelle walked closer to Kit. There was some sort of monster, that she didn't recognize in the kitchen. Multiple monsters. They looked like they were part woman, part reptile. Whatever they were, Annabelle didn't like them. She gripped her bow and the arrow in her hand even tighter than before. She looked quizzically at Kit, as if to ask him what the mysterious monsters were.

"Dracaenae." He whispered quietly. Dishes crashed to the floor in the kitchen. Kit peeked through the porthole in the door, to see the Dracaenae rushing for the door. They could smell them. Kit nodded at Anna and mouthed the word, run. Kit darted for the kitchen and slashed as many Dracaenae as possible be high-tailing it in the opposite direction. He picked up Anna and ran out of ther resturant. There was too many Dracaenae. They couldn't fight them all. He fumbled for his keys, unlocking the Taurus and slipping Anna in the passenger's seat while her ran for the drivers.

Annabelle swore as she ran. Once she was in the car she buckled her seat belt. The monsters were coming out of the restaurant, which caused Annabelle to once again, swear heavily as she said, "They're coming, Kit!"

She had her bow ready, in case it was needed, but it wasn't needed. All Annabelle could think was, So much for dinner. Annabelle gasped, "Who is that place owned by? Uncle Hades? Wait— Uncle doesn't have any dracaenae. The last I've heard of them were with your brother's dealings with the titans. Oh, this is not good."

Kit sped out of the parking lot quickly. The dracaenae were slithering down the road. Where was his uncle. Was that the body they carried out? "Sorry about dinner. We can you to the lake when we get back if you want. Or to my cabin, just to hang out. I'm so sorry." Kit felt as if they whole monster attack was his fault. He felt terrible. This was supposed to be his date with Anna. Kit set his sword inbetween the two seats and gripped the stearing wheel with white knuckles.

They were at a stop light, waiting for the light to turn green. Annabelle peered back behind her, but couldn't see any monsters anywhere. She leaned to the other side of the car and laid her lips on Kit's cheek. After leaning her head on his shoulder, she spoke, "Let's hang out at you're cabin. I would much prefer to spend the evening indoors, right now."

She was afraid that she had sounded nervous or something, but the truth was, she was. First of all, it seemed like she and Kit were really hitting it off, and second, those monsters still trailing behind them scared her a lot. Especially since they probably belonged to Cronus. As the light turned green, she thought to herself, Thank the Gods.

Kit wrapped his arm around Anna, driving with one hand. He glanced that mirror that reflect the road behind him. Nothing. Hmm, that was strange. He shrugged, kissing Anna's hair. Her hair smelled good. What was that? Strawberries? Kit smiled, happy to be alive. "Okay. My cabin it is. I won't have to play Xbox tonight. That's probably good for me." He chuckled.

Annabelle laughed, and then fell asleep a few seconds later. She slid off of Kit's shoulder and her head fell in his lap. Her breathing was steady. She must have been tired to begin with, but didn't realize it.

Kit smiled at Anna. She's adorable when she sleeps, he thought. Kit slid his hand around her waist. He stopped at the next light, car engines buzzing around him. He didn't see any monsters near. It was nice, not having to worry as much. Kit turned onto the Williamsburg Bridge, heading back towards camp, the only place they were safe.

Annabelle woke up a few minutes later, but didn't actually sit up. She was comfortable as she was, right now. She could tell they were on the bridge, but were probably nearing the end. They would be back at camp in about five minutes. She took Kit's hand that was not on the wheel in her own hand and held it tight.

Kit smiled, feeling Anna move. "Hey Sleeping Beauty." He rubbed his thumb over her frail fingers. Letting her hand go for a moment, he moved her red hair, which had fallen over her beautiful face, behind her ear. Then, intertwining their fingers again, he sighed happily. His heartbeat got quicker as butterflies bounced around in his stomach.

Annabelle smiled and climbed into a sitting position on Kit's lap, facing towards him. She knew she probably shouldn't do this while he was driving, but she couldn't resist. The temptation was too great. She leaned in and kissed his lips, pulling herself closer to him as she did so. She interlocked her feet at the small of his back, her legs around his waist.

Kit kissed her for a moment before he could hear car horns beeping. He pulled away quickly, leaning to the side to see he almost rammed a car. "Anna, believe me I want to kiss you right now, really bad but, I need to get us home safe, okay?" He gave her a quick peck on the lips before shifting so he could see the road.

Annabelle was upset by the sad fact that was reality. Annabelle smiled and moved to the side as she teased, "It's not my fault you're so irresistible! It's yours." She winked at him as she said this.

She could see the corner they would turn to get to camp up ahead; it wasn't even a mile away. In less than two minutes, she would be able to kiss Kit as much as she wanted.

Kit turned into the camp parking lot. He got out of the car, grabbing his keys. He quickly ran to Anna's side and opened her door. It was black as night outside, probably because it was ten o'clock. Kit smiled at Anna said, "Now, lets get into camp before we start this." He threw Anna over his shoulder and ran towards camp borders.

Annabelle was laughing again, as he picked her up and through her over the shoulder. That stopped when she let out a muffled groan, as an arrow pierced into her skin. Pain shot through her, as her joyful face was replace by one that looked as if its body was in agony, which it was. She managed to pull the arrow out of her arm, but not without wincing.

Kit now sped up, making a mad dash for camp. "Anna! Are you alright? How bad is it?" He ran past camp borders, setting Anna down behind the big house. He examined her arm. It didn't go too deep, just deep enough that he would need to clean out the wound. Kit hugged her tight, pressing her head against his chest.

Annabelle groaned again; she couldn't help but to do so. She couldn't tell Kit how bad the wound was, so she just said, "It hurts.''

Annabelle brightened up when she saw her best friend, Emma Page walk through with some nectar and ambrosia. She said something about seeing the couple run behind the big house, "As soon as I saw you two, I ran back to my cabin to get some nectar and ambrosia."

Emma wasn't sweating though, in fact she didn't look like she had been doing any strenuous activity. Maybe she was just really athletic. She leaned down and let some nectar pour into Annabelle's throat. She handed the ambrosia to Kit so that he could help Annabelle eat it, as she cleaned up the wound and put a bandage on it. She wrapped the fabric around Annabelle's arm where the wound was.

Kit fed Anna the Ambrosia. He could have prevented this. That could have been him. It should have. "I'm so sorry Anna. That should have been me." Kit hugged her once her arm was wrapped, then turned to Emma. "Thanks. She would have lost a lot of blood if it wasn't for you." Kit gave her a half-hug then turned back to his girlfriend. Officially his girlfriend. "Here, go get changed. That dress looks stunning but, its probably uncomfortable."

Emma disappeared in a flash, which Annabelle thought odd. Normally her best friend would have stayed with her. Maybe it's because I'm still on my date, thought Annabelle. She stood up and touched her bandage ever so slightly. It barely hurt now. She looked up to Kit, "Okay; see you in ten?" She wait a few seconds for his reply, kissed him softly on the lips. She leaned into the kiss after a couple seconds.

He leaned into the kiss, making it more passionate. He didn't want to break away but, he did. Kit shook his head. "I'm walking you there. I don't want you getting hurt again, plus..." He threw her over his shoulder again and started the walk to the zeus cabin. Kit had no idea where that arrow came from. It could have been a camper. Or a monster but, whatever or whoever shot that arrow, could still be watching them.

Annabelle scowled at his words. She did not like being ticked off. At all. She said, "I can fight for myself, Kit." Annabelle rolled off of Kit's back ad started to walk towards the cabin courtyard.

Kit sighed. "Anna, I didn't mean it like that!" He ran after her. He didn't want this night end badly. Kit reached for her wrist, hesitant to grab it. He didn't want to make her even more mad. "Anna, I know you strong on your own. I just, feel protective of you now." He didn't know what to say. He always struggled with these situations, trying to get back the ones he cared for.
