I leaned back in the wet snowy grass and laughed. My hair sprawled out on the ground all around me. I brushed some out of my face and pulled my legs close to my body. "I don't know." I groaned with a smile. I put my hands over my face then removed them and looked up at the sky. It was pretty out. The colors were beautiful, Kyle was right.

Kyle looked at Del and then smiled softly, "But not as beautiful as you are..." he whispered. Then his eyes widened, and his cheeks froze... again. He looked at Del to see if she heard what he just said.

I looked up at Kyle as he murmured something. "What did you say, Kyle?" I asked. I don't know if I heard him right because he had whispered. His eyes were wide. Did he just...? No, I'm just helucinateing. Just imagining what I'd wish he would say or something. I bit my lip lightly.

Kyle shook his head, a wave of determination shining in his eyes, "I said that... the sunset is beautiful but... not as beautiful as you are..." Without noticing, he had whispered that part... again. "DARN IT! Why can't I say it?!" He stared at Del, looking so embarrassed. He took a deep breath, prayed to his mother, and tried again. "Del, the sunset IS beautiful... but it's not as beautiful as y-you are." He had a feeling that he looked totally blue. He could feel the temperature dropping every second, the silence not doing well with his sudden outburst, he looked at Del, wanting her to say something... anything.

I stared at Kyle with a small, little smile on my face for a second. He was blushing like a meat locker again witch made my heart skip a beat. The tempature stsrted dropping again but I didn't mind that much. I srawled a little closer to Kyle so I was sitting next to him now. "Thanks," I murmured tucking a stray piece of hair behind my ear. I hugged my knees close to my body and continued to stare at Kyle dumbfounded. I probably looked like a complete idiot.

Kyle blushed again, and felt a goofy smile making its way on his face, "You're welcome. And what I just said? I meant it a whole lot. I like you, Del. There's no denying that. And you're such a nice girl, and you're beautiful and... and..." He was out of words. He stopped making the temperature drop, or else Del might turn into a human popsicle, "Here, take my sweater. You're probably too cold right now." He took of his sweater and handed it to her.

I blushed violently. I was lost for words but gladly took the sweater Kyle handed me. I was starting to shake but again, I barely minded. I liked being around him. "I-I like you too," I said lightly. "I mean, um, a lot." I meant it too.

Kyle smiled warmly, "I'm glad, you know. It's like a weight's been lifted off my chest." He grinned, as if to show his delight. "Thanks, Del." He took her hand and squeezed it, a bit harder this time, but he didn't mean to hurt her.

I smiled brightly and laughed lightly. "You're welcome," I said ad squeezed his jand sfotly back. I looked down and turned his hand over in mine. "Why do you wear gloves?" I asked softly ontertwining my fingers with his. He had said something about hugging me and if he did, I would freeze, before. Did that have something to do with this? I was just curious. Oh gods, I hoped he didn't get offended.

Kyle smiled at their intertwined fingers and thought, 'If we were together...' He looked lost in thought, and then he heard Del saying something. He blinked, "Huh? Oh... umm. I wear gloves because if I don't, I might just freeze you just by holding you, and I don't want to. And as much as I do want to hug you, my chin or any part of my face can come in contact with you, and that too can freeze you." Kyle looked away and sighed.

I lookrd at Kyle. He seemed to be avoiding my eyes. I elbowed him softly. "Hey," I said. "That's not so bad. At least you have powers. You'll probably learn to control that." I tried to hide the feelings of my thoughts. I guess I couldn't really kiss him... I smiled at him reasureingly.

I looked at Kyle with sympathy. "Kyle, why would I hate you?" I asked. "Don't think that people will hate you because you cant control something. And if they do, they're really judgemental because you are and awesome, amazing guy. You're sweet and kind, and you're the kind of person any girl would love to date..." I lost all color in my face. I did not just say that. I bit my lip.

Kyle felt his cheeks freezing, his heart was beating fast against his chest, "What was that, Del? Really? Do you really think that I'm sweet and kind... and awesome? And that you'd love to date me?" He didn't try to get his hopes up. He liked Del a lot, but he wasn't going to bet everything yet.

I looked down to the grass again and Kyle's hand which I was holding. "Um, i blushed. "Um, yeah, kind of," I said softly. I rubbed my neck nervously. What was Kyle going to think of me?

Kyle laughed, a merry and hearty laugh, he felt so jubilant. "Oh, Del! Oh, Del... Delany Flynn. I've always wanted to hear you say that. And... will you really? Would you like to go out with me?" He smiled at her.

"YES!!!" Kyle screamed at the top of his lungs. Nothing could ruin his mood right now! "This is awesome!" He completely forgot about being able to freeze people, and hugged Del so tight. After a second, he snapped and let go of her. He had expected her to freeze into a giant icicle, but to his relief and surprise, she was just covered in frost, but not any damage at all. He hesitated, but slowly... he hugged her again.

I hesitated to hug him back again.y surprise was still caugt in my throat. But I smiled and hugged him back with a small laugh. I wiped the frost from my face though it was already melting into cold water against my skin. I leaned my head into Kyle's chest.

Kyle felt at peace as Del laid her head on his chest, "You know... to be honest. I've never had a girlfriend, and I've never hugged anyone who hasn't turned into ice yet, well... except for Rachel, my sister, and I don't know how she's doing it." Kyle chuckled. He wasn't even making any effort to do some small-talk. He was calm, rubbing soothing circles on Del's back, as the sun above was slowly setting, making him more comfortable.

I laughed again softly. "Yeah, well, I've never really been in a relationship either. So it's a first for both of us I guess." I looked back up at the sunset. It was making the light snow on the ground glisten. I smiled.

Kyle was again, feeling happy. This day was perfect. He looked at Del again and noted how lucky he was. "Oh yeah, let me show you something." He snapped his fingers, and snow fell on the ground. He snapped his fingers again, and soon they turned into an ice sculpture. K + D = ♥ was what was engraved in it. Kyle laughed at his cheesiness, but left the ice sculpture standing.

I smiled. "That's amazing," I tell him looking at the new ice sculpture that formed in front of us. I laughed along with him reasting my head on his shoulder. This was magnificent. I was entirely in love with this moment. The image was perfect. The rays of sun glistened off the ice and snow, the way my hand fit into Kyle's. I captured it all in a mental photograph and tucked it away for a rainy day.

Kyle squeezed her hand, and sighed. "Nothing can ruin this day. Nope, nothing at all." He brushed some hair away from Del's face and smiled at her. He took out his camera from his bag and smiled at her. "I wanna take a picture of you. Give me a big smile." He laughed, as if he were talking to a cute child.

I blinked once. "Really?" No one had ever wamted to take my picture before. "Um, o-okay," I said with a tiny giggle. I smiled for Kyle but it wasn't forced. It was a real smile because I was really happy, because I really liked Kyle, and I think he did really like me.
