Dylan Reid

Dylan sighed as he walked through the zombie infested camp, most other demigods would be trying to hide in the various buildings to hoard food and try to survive, Dylan was different, he ventured out in the face of the Zombie Apocalypse and made it his task to help other demigods that didn't manage to get to safety. Of course, Dylan didn't tell this to anyone, to them he was just a socially awkward person with a death wish.

Dylan saw the first few zombies of the night, mentally activating his necklace's enchantment. A dark composite bow appeared in his left hand, a plain quiver of arrows coming into existence on his back at the same time. Dylan notched an arrow and took aim at the zombies, they hadn't noticed him yet. He released the arrow and watched it fly, quickly grabbing another arrow from the quiver at the same time. The arrow struck the targeted zombie right in the back of the head, the other ones barely had time to turn around before another arrow caught a second zombie in the neck before setting itself on fire, burning through the flesh and decapitating it.

The remaining three zombies finally noticed him and charged, Dylan returned the bow and arrow back to his necklace and summoned his Celestial Bronze sword before charging towards the zombies with the sword held in his right hand. With just a few feet left between Dylan and the zombies, Dylan swerved to the left side and slashed diagonally with his sword, cutting cleanly through one of the zombies from the left waist to the right shoulder. The zombie fell to the ground, but it wasn't dead yet.

Dylan spun around after his slash, going into a battle-ready stance as the remaining two non-crippled zombies turned and charged him. A sidestep saved him from being slashed by the zombies' claws, he retaliated by slicing off their arms before using the strength he inherited from his father Hercules to kick them into the ground and stabbing them in the brains.

Looking around him, Dylan saw that there weren't any other zombies in the area, he was probably in a less infested area then. He set off towards the library, there were always people around there.

Daughter of Hecate | Goddess of Magic

“Believe me, Harry Potter is nothing like magic.”

will this ever end?

It was a constant, repetitive cycle every day, as it had been for weeks on end. Already campers have been trying to find a permanent way to stop the zombies from reanimating, but to no avail. Some had suggested setting the entire Burial Grounds on flames with Greek fire, while a few ambitious ones proposed to head out and search for the ones who were controlling the dead. But many voted against the disrespect of the graves, and those who went in search of the threat never came back. Fearing that the titan's side had claimed them, the rest grudgingly stayed.

Amber shivered in the cold wind, her weapon in hand and her bow and quiver strapped to her back. She never went anywhere without them. The moon was unusually bright that night, but not resplendently so. It emanated a continuous, sinister throb of pale light, projecting long, thin shadows across the tall, shifting grass. Beyond and all around, the fullness of night prevailed.

As she turned the corner of the infirmary, a skeletal figure lumbered out from behind it. It extended a bleached arm towards her, grabbing for her throat. Amber slashed twice with the razor-sharp edge of her celestial bronze knife, severing the zombie's arm and head from its body. The body parts fell with a sickening thump on the sallow grass, and the daughter of Hecate lit them on fire before they could rejoin with the body.

Turning however, she came face to face with three more zombies that towered over her. One was even holding a rusted, steel sword, smeared with dried blood. Their rotting grey flesh gave off a putrid, fetid stench that turned the air sour all around. Amber's stomach churned involuntarily, and she had to fight off a burning urge to gag. The one with the sword was faster than the others, and it lunged at her, swiping the weapon. Amber caught the edge of the blade on the long hilt of her knife, pushing it back forcefully. She kicked the abdomen of the undead creature, and in her panic, released a burst of magic that propelled the zombie and sent it flying yards away into the wall of a cabin.

The effort left her temporarily drained of energy however, and she staggered back, unwilling to confront the remaining two until she had regained her strength. The sword-carrying zombie must have been heavier than it looked. Placing her hand on the side of the cabin wall, Amber steadied herself against it, hurriedly blinking away the sudden daze and watching as the creature drew nearer.

Dylan scowled, there were zombies everywhere now that he was close to the cabins. He was currently fighting against a few of the mindless corpses, the smell of decomposed flesh filled the air. One of the zombies were faster than the rest, charging at him and thrusting a celestial bronze dagger at his torso. The move was sloppy and painfully slow, Dylan caught the zombie's wrist with his left hand and squeezed hard, crushing bone easily. He stabbed at the zombie's brain and kicked the corpse backward with supernatural strength, sending the slain zombie into one of it's brethren and sending it to the ground while the other two zombies caught up.

Two skeletal figures swiped clawed hands at the dark haired son of Hercules, Dylan ducked underneath the attacks and swept their legs, sending them collapsing into the ground. He stood up and stabbed one of the zombies in the brain, stomping down hard on the other zombie's head, crushing it's skull and brain. Dylan looked at the one remaining zombie, it was having difficulties getting up from under the zombie above it, he put it out of it's misery with a sickened stab to the head.

With a sigh, Dylan walked closer to the cabins, he would attract less attention that way. He heard the clang of metal against metal from the direction of the infirmary, startled, Dylan looked and saw a sword wielding zombie smash into the walls of a cabin. He replaced his sword with his bow and arrow, nocking an arrow and shooting the zombie through the head as it struggled to get back onto it's feet.

Dylan looked around and saw a female figure with her steadying herself against a cabin wall as two more zombies converged on her location, he carefully nocked an arrow and aimed at one of them. The arrow flew in a beautiful arc, landing in the shoulder of one of the zombies before setting it ablaze, the zombie would be reduced to ashes in just a few seconds. A second shot stabbed into the remaining zombie's kneecap, crippling it's movements while Dylan stored away the bow and arrow in favor of his sword. He quickly made his way around the cabins, trying to get to the girl that had been steadying herself on the cabin wall. The Fates were cruel however, for there was a small group of zombies blocking his path. Dylan sighed and charged at the zombies, intent on dispatching the pests as quickly as possible.

Just as she shook off the dizziness, two arrows punched through the vulnerable decaying flesh of the zombies, and they burst into flames, oblivious as to their fate. Amber snapped her lead to the left in the direction of the shooter, trying to see who had fired the arrows. She spotted the camper a few dozen paces away, and just as she was about to wave her thanks, another group of undead crowded onto him.

The daughter of Hecate frowned and dropped her weapon into her pocket as it turned into a bronze lighter, reaching for her bow. Nocking an arrow, she drew and fired with practiced ease. Amber continued three times in a row, finding her mark each time. It wasn't much of a challenge as the zombies weren't very fast and were quite close, but it was still satisfying to see the engaging effects of her arrows.

The first one sent tendrils of frost across the target from the point of impact, smothering the zombie in solid ice within moments. The second one impaled a zombie's head and gained the weight of half a ton of bricks, causing the unfortunate undead to bend over haplessly as gravity pulled it to the ground. The third one however, gave a harsh, jarring wail as it flew towards its target, turning it into stone.

Amber winced at the discordant sound, pursing her lips and wondering how it happened. Well, that's one piece of magic gone wrong. Shrugging, she languidly made her way across to retrieve her arrows, watching as the camper finished off the remaining zombies.

Dylan Reid

There were six zombies in his way, he charged forward without hesitation. The first zombie had it's back turned against him, it was bisected at it's waist be a quick slash as Dylan ran past it, grabbing another unaware zombie's arm and shoving his sword through the creature's brain. Kicking the zombie away, Dylan was about to continue his assault when three arrows hit three different zombies. One zombie was turned to ice within seconds, a normal human would mistake it for a morbid ice sculpture. The second zombie bent over and seemed to be stuck to the ground. A harsh wail that resembled a banshee's scream in modern video games sounded from the third arrow, striking a third zombie and petrified it.

Dylan had no time to wonder what happened however, as he noticed movement from the corner of his eye and managed to back way from a zombie's lunge, without thinking, Dylan decapitated the overextended zombie and stabbed it in the brain for good measure. He looked over to the bisected zombie and saw that it was crawling on the ground, Dylan walked towards the corpse and finished the job. Turning back to the shot zombies, Dylan saw that the female figure he had seen earlier was making her way over to him, she was holding a bow.

Relaxing slightly but still on guard, Dylan strolled to meet his fellow demigod. "Nice shots." He complimented when they were just a few feet away from one another.

Amber glanced at the camper and gave a quick smile, before bending down and yanking two arrows out of the zombies - the third was embedded in solid stone and naturally wouldn't budge an inch. "Thank you." She eyed the dissected twitching remains of the zombies. "We should get rid of this."

Brows knitted, Amber took her lighter back out and flipped the lid open, revealing a bright, luminescent flame of Greek fire. Drawing some fire with magic, she set the zombies alight, gazing as the flames licked the creatures. "Otherwise they'll just come after us again," she finished, closing the lighter and stowing it into her jacket.

The daughter of Hecate wiped the gore from the bronze arrow tips on the grass, before returning the arrows to her quiver. Only then she got a closer look at the demigod. The first thing she noticed were his startling blue eyes, and then his dark tousled hair. But try as she might, she couldn't guess his heritage. If it was based on his looks alone, she'd have guessed Zeus, but her powers told her that he wasn't a son of the Big Three.

Well, only one way to find out, she thought. Amber stuck out a friendly hand, saying, "I'm Amber Swift, Cabin Fifteen. Nice to meet you."

Dylan Reid

Dylan watched as the other camper collected her arrows, leaving the one that was in the petrified zombie alone. The female camper then took out a lighter, curious, Dylan was about to ask a question before he saw the familiar glow of Greek fire, the girl drew the fire from the lighter with some sort of magic and set the zombies ablaze, explaining that the zombies would just come back unless she did so.

As the girl wiped off the gore on her arrows, Dylan examined her more carefully. She was a great deal shorter than him, standing at around 5'6 or so compared to his 6'2, her hair was chocolate brown with lighter streaks and bangs and she had deep emerald green eyes. The girl stuck out her hand and introduced herself. Dylan awkwardly shook her hand, taking care to not grip too tightly. "Dylan Reid, Cabin Two. Nice to meet you." Dylan mirrored, not really knowing what else to say. Taking his hand back, he surveyed the area around them and determined that they were safe for now, good. "We should get to somewhere safer." Dylan suggested, not liking how exposed they were in their current position. Besides, it was never good staying outdoors in a zombie apocalypse.
