| Now, Roxanne didn't usually help younger campers out unless they were really good. But, this was a special case. This young Zeus camper had been pestered by monsters at an earlier age: Ten. And he had no idea how to defend himself. Roxanne had already taken him to the Zeus cabin, and the Armory, where he picked a small dagger with a wicked sharp blade. The blade was a good choice, it was one of Perseus's own blades from back in the old days. Roxanne had smiled when he'd picked that blade.
She'd also signed him for a room in the Zeus room. The Cloud room. But, that's not important. Now, two hours later, drenched in sweat and smelling awful, the little Zeusie was training his little butt off. It was Roxanne's job to teach him how to fight. Otherwise he'd never make it on a quest. She hadn't sparred with him yet, but she was planning on it. Frustrated, the younger boy threw the blade at the dummy and had groaned. The blade pierced the dummy's side and stuck straight in. Roxanne had smiled. Maybe the boy had a talent for archery instead of melee.
She'd have him try archery tomorrow. She sent him on his way back to the Mess Hall for dinner, and when he'd asked if she was coming she said she'd meet him there. When he left she looked around for someone else and walked over to a switch on the wall. The switch on the wall released a random monster into the arena. Time for battle. She strapped on her leather armor and her fingerless gloves, her calf guards and her arm band and picked up Greek Fire, her sword. She sheated a few poison tipped daggers into her belt as well and flicked on the switch.
The arena was darkened. Very suddenly she felt the hair rise on the back of her neck. This would be easy. It was just like Mooraj. The dark game. Using her senses, she reached out into the dark and searched for any sounds, movements, breaths. Hearing a faint slithering, her muscles tensed. And then it struck. With lightning fast reflexes, she side-stepped the strike. It was still dark which managed to make this more difficult, so she remained in one spot. At that moment, though, the lights flickered on. Standing in front of her was a snake-like creature that was ten feet tall with beady, red eyes and sharp fangs glistening with saliva. Somehow she knew it was poisonous.
It struck again and she stepped away. When it lunged at her for a third time, she jabbed her sword upward, a gush of ichor spraying from its mouth and onto her. "Ugh! Nasty! This is a new shirt!" She hissed, driving the sword upward again. The snake wailed in pain. She yanked her sword free and ran around the snake, slashing here and there. Eventually the snake became more conscious of her and whipped its tail out. The tail caught Zan behind the legs and she tripped, falling onto her stomach. Feeling the wind from behind her, she quickly rolled out of the way coming face to face with the tail slapping the ground so hard it shook.
"Time to bring out the big guns," she muttered, raising her hands. The air around them glowed an eerie blue and crackled with power. Not even wincing when the lightning balls appeared in her hands, the snake hissed, spit and ichor spraying her again. Annoyed, she yelled, "Stop that!" and threw the balls with precision. They hit the snake and momentarily distracted him, giving her enough to time to run up and cut its throat. Which is exactly what she did. She ran up to it and attempted to stab its throat, only its flailing body knocked her sword out her hand. "Crap," she winced, watched the sword land some twenty feet away. The snake stood up and loomed over her.
Quick as a cobra, Roxanne whipped a dagger out her belt and threw it at the snake, the dagger connecting with its eye. She didn't think the snake would be killed, but, when it fell to the ground unmoving she knew this was her chance. Not taking any chances, she ran over and plunged her dagger into its hard skin. The dagger sunk deep, almost to the hilt and she grasped it and pulled it, ripping the skin open and exposing the innards. She almost gagged, but when the snake disintegrated, she smiled. "Woo-hoo! Victorious again!" She raised her arms and smiled. http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=44476541

~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~! Grant had never been one for snopping, In fact he was very interested in watching anybody but himself. As he went towards the arena for some serious training he was pasted by a young, sweaty, rather stinky kid. "Try a bath boy." He hissed towards the retreating figure. Standing tall he fixed his shirt finding it a rather nice for training. It was a very thin while shirt with Aero written aross it. His jeans were somewhat baggy and some new trainers adorened his feet.
Taking long confindent strides towards the arena he found himself hardly paying attention to the outside world so when he stumbled into an area that was pinch black he froze taking in the surroundings. He stood by a wall not sure what was going on but very curious to find out. This place to just so weird, smelly kids, ugly ass monsters, lighting bolts flying towards the ugly monsters, wait WHOA! His thoughts finally fouced on bright lights the fried a monster snake. Suddenly he could hear her curses and the monsters hisses of pain and growls of anger from them both.
Staring the whole time Grant Heart could barely stop watching as he could make out the figures in the darkness but no faces he heard her sword skid towards him, not even bothering move from his place he watch as she nearly got killed by a monsters finally with a squeal the monster disappered. At her comment he stepped forward and flicked on the lights. Leaning his broad back agaisnt the wall he crossed an ankle over the other and smirked. It was obvisous just looking at him he knew the ropes of the rich and was about to make himself remember.
"Hmm. You know, pretty girls like yourself shouldn't be fighting ugly snakes like that, they might mess up your face." Looking at her with a small chuckle he went on. "But, you seemed to handle you self pretty fine." His smooth voice was soft and deep but held a sharp whip like crispness. He's deep brown eyes looked her over, "Your shirt looks rather gross." A bit of an British accent slipped through is last words in a cool manner as he turned to look right to her side in an offending manner. ~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!

| Roxanne Marie Michaels Roxanne turned around, her eyes glittering with amusement and something else. "Girls like me have been fighting snakes like those since they were seven. And my face has never once been messed up. I know how to handle myself, thank you very much," she retorted back evenly. The guy in front of her was very cute, but he looked like a genuine butt-face. She picked up her now broken tipped dagger, and sheathed it. Her sword was lying next to the guy and she snatched it up quickly, sheathing it in one swift movement.
Roxanne brushed off her leather armor and it turned back into a smooth, brown leather jacket that matched her boots. Taking off the hood that used to be the helmet, she shook out her long, silky, black bob. It was messy, but only because of the monster ichor. When she reached up to run her fingers through it, a sharp pain caught her wrist. She yanked it back, examining it. A small cut, but big enough for stitches was on the inside of her wrist. It was already turning a bit green from the poison. It must've been from the teeth.
Turning on her heel, she grabbed her backpack, and softly padded towards the exit.

| Roxanne Marie Michaels Stunned, Roxanne's mouth dropped open a little O. When she regained her composure, she snapped, "No, you may not escort me. No, you cannot know my name and no, I'm not hurt." She grabbed her backpack back and sat down on a rock outside of the Arena. Setting her backpack on her knees, she dug through for some medical tape, bandaging, and antiseptic. Finding what she needed, Roxanne took her good hand and placed her fingers on the cut and closed her eyes.
Feeling alive with energy, her hand glowed electric blue as it sent pulsing waves of energy through the wound, eliminating toxins and other bad stuff. For a moment she just sat there, being drained of her energy. Then when she felt satisfied, the glowing stopped and she lifted her hand away. In the spot where there once was a snake scratch, was now just a little scar. Well.. guess she didn't need the stuff after all. She put it all back and pulled out some ambrosia. Ripping off a tiny hunk, she bit into it. The flavor of warm double chocolate cookies filled her mouth. She could practically taste the white chocolate chips.
Seriously debating having another bite, she put it away feeling better than ever. "Are you still watching me you creeper?" She snapped at the handsome boy. He was handsome. Just not her type. Her type was the guy that wouldn't wear the pants in the relationship. She was always the one who did that. Plus, he was too pretty. Pretty-boy. That was his new nickname.

| Roxanne Marie Michaels Sighing, she didn't really want to put up with this kid for the rest of day, especially if he planned on calling her Sparky for the rest of the day. She snorted and replied to his first question, "It's Roxanne, pretty-boy." She got up and slung the backpack back onto her shoulder.
"You know, I'm trying very hard to be nice, too. This is my nice," she said, a mischievous glint in her eye. She began walking back up the path away from the arena, "And as long as it takes until I get to my cabin," she replied slickly. Hoping he wasn't following her she began to jog down the path now, hoping to burn a few carbs before dinner.
