Do i have the skills?

Alex was sitting on the bleachers in the Arena area. He had a mouse in a metal square jail box next to him. He heard in the Aphrodite cabin that only the best of the Aphrodite kids can charmspeak. So he decided to try it out and see how far he can go with it. Pfft...This is crazy im talking to a mouse he thought. He then placed the mouse metal square jail on his lap and looked at the mouse closley. He payed all the attention on it. He then spoke in a tone that was beautiful and soothing "Sleep." Though after he finished saying it nothing happened. Alex frowned and kept on trying it again and again.

Sienna gracefully strode into the arena. She needed to practice her fighting skills. She was good with her dagger, but if she only fought with that she would always be very close to her opponent. She was avout to go and choose a weapon when she spotted her half brother Alex. He was saying 'sleep' to a mouse. The mouse didn't seem to be getting that it was meant to fall asleep though. "Are you trying to charmspeak on that mouse?" Sienna asked as she walked over to him. She herself was a very accomplished charmspeaker and thought if he wanted it she could help him a bit.

Alex looked up to her "Yea i know it looks dumb...but ive done it before when i was younger. I just cant seem to do it anymore." He looked at the mouse once more again focusing all on it saying "Sleep." And still nothing happened it stayed awake. "Can you charmspeak Sienna?"

"Yep." Sienna said as she sat down on the other side of the mouse. "I'm actually quite good at it." she said modestly. Then, to the mouse, she said "Sleep". It blinked a couple of times before falling fast asleep. "Wake." Sienna commanded. The mouse did a little jump in the air before settling down again.

Alex felt his own eyes become heavy as she said "sleep." There was somthing about her voice when she charmspoke. It almost made him fall in love and want to do her bidings. He quickley snapped out of it as she said "wake." Hmm so this is the power us demi-gods have... Alex thought to himself. He then turned to Sienna saying "You almost had me falling asleep there too, but anyways howd you do it?"

"I don't really know." she said. "Usually I just try and put loads of emotion into the words I'm speaking. Sometimes when I want it to be especially effective I try and put my feelings into every syllable." Charmspeaking was a pretty complicated power. It was also a really useful one though. Sure, it wouldn't work on Gods or Titans, but it could easily work on evil demigods and monsters.

Alex turned to the mouse and said in such a powerful and emotional tone "le sommeil." This meaning sleep in french. He noticed as the mouse immedatley dropped down sleeping soundlessley. Did i just speak french? He asked himself. He then took the mouse box and shook, but the mouse did not wake up. "Did i kill it?" He asked Sienna jokingley.

((And btw Charmspeaking does work on gods and titans, no worrys though.))

Sienna put her hand on the mouse. "No, it's still breathing. Maybe you just put in a coma. Why did you say slep in French?" Sienna spoke fluent French because French was the language of love. But she knew not all Aphrodite kids could do this. She couldn't change her appearance like other kids though, so maybe it was a fair trade.

Alex replied "I-i-Im really not sure why that happened, I dont speak French. Maybe since its the languge of love, that could be the reason why it came out my mouth." He thought to himself for a moment wondering about the other powers children of Aphrodite possed. "What abilities does our family posses anyways?"

"That is probably why." Sienna agreed. "It's the reason I can speak fluent French. Ummm, well Aphrodite kids could potentionally; speak fluent French, charmspeak and change their appearance with their will. There might be more but those are the only ones I know."

Alex thought for a moment. Hes had situations with wierd stuff in his life happening and maybe it was his abilities. He then smiled to Sienna and said "Thanks so much for teaching me how to charmspeak, haha it will take some work to get good at it though."

"I've only been working at it for about a month. Ever since Aphrodite claimed me. I'd been good at convincing people before but I didn't realise it was Charmspeak before I was claimed." Sienna shrugged. "I was happy to help you. We are family after all."

"Thanks...." Tears collected in Alex's eyes, but he quickley coughed trying to hide it. Family was a touchy subject. His father hasent contacted him recently so its been hard for him. Changing the subject he said "So how bout we have a duel?" He reached down under the bleachers taking out a silver sword. "Found it under my bed this morning..and im not sure how it got there."

"Really?" Sienna asked. "That's strange." Really strange, she added mentally. "Sure, I'd love to duel. I don't have a sword though. I've only got my ceremonial dagger."

"Hey this is my first time fighting using a sword. So i think were equaled out." Alex said. He then brought up his sword, he actulley looked good holding the sword. The only thing that dident make him flawless was his posture. He was holding it the wrong way with his hands, little did he know he was a lefty and was using his right hand. "Alright when your ready."

Sienna grinned. Hopefully this boy was a natural at sword fighting otherwise this would be a very short duel. Little did he know that Sienna was very good with her dagger. She lunged forward gracefully, moving her dagger towards his sword in an attempt to knock it out of his hands.

Things seemed to slow down for him , upon reflex he lifted his sword in a tilt. With a *CLANG* noise the dagger was blocked by the silver sword. Well heres a time my ADD is put to use. He thought to himself. He then pushed his silver sword upwards on Siennas dagger. This making her stumble back just a few steps.

Sienna's stumble wasn't a real stumble. She was using it to think up her next move and cause a distraction. She slashed her dagger at his stomach then quickly aimed at his neck. If she got there she would obviously stop before she hit skin. She wasn't a phycopath.

Alex saw her use the stumble to her advantage. Before he could react, the dagger was coming back up to his neck. The Next thing he knew it was right at his neck just touching the skin. He smiled saying "Heh...your pretty good."

"Thanks." Sienna said smiling. It had been a pretty short match sadly. She checked her nails thoroughly to see if any were broken, thankfully none were. "You're pretty good yourself." she said. Others might not like Sienna, they had a reason, but she was always nice to her siblings.

He laughed seeing her check her nails and said "Good to know im not the only one that will do that." He flipped his hair out from his eyes and ran his fingers through it to make it look perfect again. He then sat down on the bleachers and sighed.

Sienna sat down next to him with a sigh. She poked the mouse. "It still hasn't woken up." she said with a small frown. "Maybe it really did go into a coma." That would be funny. "You should probably try and wake it up now. It's had a long enough nap."
