In the Forest.

I was walking through the forest singing quietly along to my iPod which blared Face Down, by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. "Face down in the dirt..." I continued my quiet singing not watching where I was going. I looked at my feet as my hair hung down around my face as if it were a curtain keeping me from the outside world. That didn't last long when I bumped into someone and fell on my back. "Ow." I mumbled and began to arise from the ground.

Alec slid down at an uncomfortable pace. In fact, he had been given a skateboard from Judas at the hephaestus cabin that was supposed to have perfect balance. On the way down, however, only one thought occurred to him. Owl? And indeed there was an owl. And then, as his eye's lowered to the board beneath his feet, he realized. This doesn't have perfect balance. and immediately after said thought, he crashed into someone.

I looked over at the guy I crashed into. "You okay?" I asked him rubbing my head. That crash hurt. A lot. I got up from the ground and wiped the dirt off my clothes and brushed it out of my hair. My iPod was safe in my pocket which made a wave of relief wash over me. I would be hopeless without it. It was like a life line.

"Yeah." He said, rolling to his feet. Things usually went bad when he tested Judas' inventions. Why do I still do that? He wondered as he kicked the board into his hands. "Sorry about that. I should probably avoid testing these....things."

I laughed. "Let me guess a Hephaestus friend?" I smirked. "I use to have one but well, she died in battle." I said sadly. I snapped out of it not wanting to be a downer. "So what invention you testing today?" I asked curious and changing the subject.

"Lessee...Last time it was rocket soles...So that makes this the Perfect Balance board." He said, twirling it in his hands. Judas had made so much stuff in fact, Alec was booked on testing up to the end of the month. "And that's not all"

I laughed. "Do you know what your getting into?" I looked at him in shock. "I'd be terrified." I laughed again.

"I've been through worse. I used to travel the world. Situations got pretty bad. Then just got bad. Lost my best friend through it. But that's the past, and Judas' inventions aren't all bad." He lowered the board to the ground.

I changed the subject quickly. "So if your testing an object like that why bring it to the forest with so many obsticals?" I asked curios. I sat back down and crossed my legs. I stared down at my dark jeans. I sighed as I saw the knee ripped. Dang, these were my favorite. I thought. I turned of my iPod which was still playing so loudly you could hear the song as clear as day.

"Well, if it's got perfect balance, I should be able to dodge anything that's in my way without falling of the board, whatsoever right?" He chuckled lightly and handed her the board. "Wanna try?"

The voice in the back of my head was screaming NO! but I was feeling adventurous today. "Hades yeah!" I said jumping up from the ground. I grabbed the board. "How you work it?" I asked anxious.

"Place more weight in the direction you want to go. Once you're moving, if you stand on it how you are now, it will enter this....Cruise control i guess." He said with a slight chuckle. "But be careful, you can cause some serious bodily injury if you hit something."

"Exciting." I said to his last comment. I leaned to the right and it took off. "Holy @#$%!" I screamed as it took off. This thing was fast! I dodged trees and leaned to the left and turned around. I headed back towards the guy when I realized something. "Ho do you stop it?!" I screamed going round and round not wanting to leave the area.

"That's a good question! I haven't necessarily figured that out! But, it seemed to shut down when all of my weight was removed! But don't worry, You're going slower than I was!" He called to her.

I jumped off the devised and rolled onto my feet. When I was completely off it shut down and fell to the ground. "Yes! That was Awesome!" I screamed throwing my hands in the air. "Lets do that again!" I screamed excited and running towards the board.

Alec was officially puzzled. When did I turn into We? He thought. "Feel free. Just don't break it." She obviously said let's as in Let us...Us as in We right?

Right before I got on I looked at him. "Lets see if two people can ride it!" I ran back over to him and tugged on his hand for him to follow me.

"I don't think that'd be very safe." He said putting up his hands in defeat. He just couldn't win today. "Besides, it definitely doesn't have perfect balance"

"That's why it's fun!" I said. I was a definite adrenaline junkie. Once I got started I wasn't going to stop till I got hurt.

"That's why it's dangerous!" He immediately retrieved the board. "It was only made for one person. Judas would kill me if it broke!"

I sighed. "Fine." I walked over to him and grabbed the board. "I want to ride it." I said smiling and getting on the board. I rode it for a few minutes and then jumped off landing on my feet and watched it drop to the ground. "I'm getting good at this." I noticed and smirked.

He nodded halfheartedly. He wasn't really one for relationships, but she just seemed so carefree. Too carefree. But it was something he liked in a person. "Be a little more careful."

I gave him a really? look. "Why? Life is short and if you don't take chances one day you're going to wake up six feet under with regrets of the things you never said or did." I said in defense. That was just how I saw life.

"So you would rather see everything from a hospitals window? It's not worth it. Nob-" He flinched slightly as she crashed into him. When he had opened his eyes he froze for a second, realizing that their lips were touching.

I screamed as I crashed into him and turned bright red when I realized what had happened. My lips were touching his warm perfectly shaped lips. I jumped up embarrassed to the extremes. I looked down at the ground with my hair in my face and stumbled over my words as I tried to apologize.
