Amy thought a bit. "Okay. It's just that all children of Athena are afraid of spiders. I take it that you would know why." Amy finally explained. She looked back up at Daydream, and took a really long, deep breath. She hesitantly took the brush, and gently stroked the horse. "Please tell me that I'm doing it correctly." She mumbled, not wanting to get bit again. When she put the brush back down, she looked back at Karil. "I'm sure that you'll get claimed soon enough." Amy reassured, ruffling Karil's hair. She did that...a lot.

✰ Karil thought about it for a moment, thinking back to greek studies and books he'd ready and then said, "Arachne...or something like that isn't it? Something to do with Athena...I read it in a book." She rubbed her head, trying to remember the details properly.

He watched her take the brush hesitantly and stroke the horse. He could only smile as he said, "There is no doing it wrong. Only different ways of doing it right." He said simply. When she put the brush down he laughed a little as she ruffled his hair, he chuckled and smoothed it out.

"I'm sure of it at this rate. Why else would I get along with you so well? You realize...your only the second person I've spoken to since I arrived here. I really am not that talkative normally."✰

"Really? How long have you been here?" Amy asked, thinking about how long he'd went without talking to someone. Amy had been here for only 3 months, so she thought that the reason she hadn't made...any friends up until this point was because she had to get used to the camp first. She nervously laughed, to cover up. "Are you sure there's no doing it wrong? There's obviously a wrong way to putting a seven year old on a horse." She laughed. "And the story is that Arachne was a wonderful spinner. She boasted about how much better at spinning than the gods. She challenged Athena, and won. Athena was so angry, that she turned Arachne into a spider, to spin forever." Amy explained. She thought that Karil could use a bit of a reminder.

✰ Karil rubbed his head and said, "Only about a month now. Not very long." He shrugged a little and leaned against a nearby stall with a black horse in it as he nodded, "Trust me...there is no way to do it wrong, It's just like brushing your own hair." He smiled.

He listened to her re-telling of the tale of Arachne and Athena and as she did little bits of memory popped into his head from various books and nodded, "Right right...I remember that now. And now Arachne's children and the like seek to hunt children of Athena or something like that. I have always been afraid of spiders, just leads me more to think I might be a child of Athena."

He had a bit of a renewed smile on as he grabbed a brush and moved around the other side of the horse, brushing her fur gently as he said, "Hehe, your good to talk to when it comes to this stuff you know."✰

"If you've been here for a month, I'm sure you'll be claimed anytime now." Amy said, thinking about how long it took Athena to claim her. "Our cabin leader is really nice. She made us sweatshirts." She followed, modeling her blue "Athena Cabin 2011" on the front and "Leave no camper behind" on the back. It really went well with her blazing red hair, and of course the freckles. Can't forget the freckles. She blushed a tad when Karil said that she was good to talk to. "Oh, um. Thanks. You're great to talk to, with horses." She said, smilling herself now.

✰ "Maybe, you never know. Like I said...I've heard some people have been here for years and have not been claimed." He rubbed his head a little bit and shrugged gently as he looked to her shirt and smiled, "Oh wow! That's really neat! Looks good with your hair." he said, stating the obvious.

He smiled gently and then patted the horse on the rump and undid her from the cross-ties, she was a very calm horse, so she didn't move much as Karil clipped a lead to her halter before looking back to Amy, "Haha...I'm sure I'm good at talking about lots of stuff. Just gotta get to know me."

He chuckled a bit and led the horse back into her stall quickly before coming back to Amy, "So...fancy a ride some time then?" He asked curiously as he scooped up his brush from the floor and tossed it into the bucket with his name on it. They were his own supplies.✰

Amy blushed when Karil said that the sweatshirt looks nice with her hair. "Oh, thank you." She said, trying to hide her red cheeks. "I'm sure you're good at talking about loads of stuff as well. And you know what? I would 'fancy' a ride sometime." She followed, a bit shocked about his vocabulary. British. Amy's Great Grandpa was British. That brings back so many memories. So many scones. She giggled a bit. "So, you have your own stuff? They look pretty old. You must have been riding for quite some time." Amy said, looking at the bucket.

✰ Karil nodded gently, his own cheeks were a tad red from the random compliment he'd given. BUt after a few moments of awkward silence and then her speaking he nodded gently, "Well then. I am more than willing to oblige such a ride. I've got the perfect time of day in mind too."

He nodded in agreeance with that he said and then looked into the bucket and rubbed his head a bit, "I do, yes. Alot of it is very old, I've always wanted new stuff...but, I don't really buy myself things." He shrugged gently and then smiled, "Though...not getting new stuff often leads to alot of repair-work." He picked up a leather halter from the bucket and showed her some of the leather repairs he'd had to do over time, it was definitely past it's age of use.

He shrugged and tossed it back into the bucket before he stretched a bit, "So when we go for a ride, I'll make sure to get the right size saddle for you. I generally know sizes pretty well." He smiled and then said, "So...what do you like to do for fun? I mean...besides read in the library?"✰

The awkward silence grew longer and longer, and Amy was almost going to make a random outburst, so she was very grateful when Karil said something. "Really now? What time of day would that just so happen to be?" She asked, sticking her hands in her pocket, counting the drachmas that she had in her pocket as they both looked at the bucket. "You don't have to worry about buying stuff for yourself." Amy mumbled to herself, thinking about how much they go for in the camp shop, smiling. "Oh, thank you. I don't know what the wrong sized saddle would do to a person, but I don't particularly want to find out." She said, thinking about what kind of fall a person could possibly take, since that was the most logical answer. When Karil asked what she liked to do, Amy almost jumped out of her own skin. "I, um, well, I... I like to bother people at the library." She finally said, after a lot of thinking. The thing with Amy was that she liked to kid herself, and say that she had a super interesting life, but that life was based off of stories. Now, with any other person, Amy would lie. But she wanted to be truthful to Karil. She didn't know why, but she just had to.

✰ (Sorry about my slow replies sometimes, I sometimes get a little busy IRL)

Karil smiled and chuckled, "Not time of day, time of night, middle of the night...when nobody is around...where it's quite and peaceful, in my opinion, that's the best time to ride." he smiled gently and tilted his head a little bit at her comment, but chose to ignore it for now as he leaned against a nearby stall, a horse sticking it's head out, almost on his shoulder.

He chuckled a bit and said, "Well...the wrong sized saddle can end up making you sore, and uncomfortable really. And the risk of falling off is much higher, so I'm very sure you wouldn't want to find out." he laughed a little bit, it was obvious that he was playing it cautious, trying not to scare her.

He noticed her jump and smirked a little, he figured she just hadn't expected him to ask, "So it would seem, otherwise we wouldn't have met." He said with a smirk as he shrugged a little bit, 'Is...that all you you like to do? Just bug people at the library? Do you read books? Train in swordplay or archer?" He asked trying to get her to open up a little bit, after all...he was.✰

(It's fine. Now that school's back on, I think I'm gonna cry.) "Oh, so that's what could happen..." Amy said, thinking about how uncomfortable she would get. It couldn't get worse than other situations, but she didn't want to take a chance. She could also tell that Karil was trying to get her to open up. She wanted to, but with five phyciatrists, and a whole lot of silence, it was kind of hard. Even if she wanted to. Amy took a really long, deep breath, and tried again. "Well, I should. I'm supposed to go to sword practice, but I really don't like to. I'm pretty good at it, but I could really use a bit more practice. Oh, and I read a lot. More than any Athena member, actually. I like to bug people, thought. I haven't done so in a while. People don't really like to talk to me for as long as you have." She confessed, pitying herself.

Karil smiled a little bit and nods. Many things COULD happen, but with the right knowledge and a bit of determination, it was quite easy to avoid any accidents. He smiled a little bit and leaned back against the stall once again.

Whens he said she had to leave he nodded and smiled, "Well, perhaps we will see eachother around Amy, Daughter of Athena." He smiled gently, glad she had told him that about herself and could only smile, it was obvious they would get along and he couldn't help but be happy to have a friend.

He chuckled a little bit, "Bah, it's looking past the flaws which is most peoples flaw in the first place. I have had a great time talking with you and you've genuinely given me a happy day. So I express my thanks to you. See you round alright?"✰

(Don't worry about it) Amy was a bit confused about why he randomly said that they'll see each other around. She thought about what she said, and slapped her hand to her mouth, and laughed. She stopped the already leaving Karil, pretty embarassed about it. "I'm sorry, I didn't say that I had to leave, I meant that when I do have it, I usually skip. Sorry, I didn't mean to sound as if I were leaving." She explained, thinking about her sisters' reactions when she didn't come, shuddering a bit. Try to get off the subject, she looked out at the sunset. "Wow, look at that, isn't it pretty?" She said, taking out a camera, and snapping pictures.

Todd sat down and looked through a photo album all the pictures were of younger forms of him and tall happy black haired man.
