✰ Karil yawned gently as he walked into the library, he'd just got back from a very long session of training on his own, his arms ached, his legs ached...well...honestly, everything ached. But that didn't stop him from coming to the library, no sir. He was here to look at some of the books on greek architecture...he'd always had a huge interest in it, and now here he was, exploring that interest, perhaps that had something to do with his god-parent? Though he had no idea who that was yet.
Karil sighed gently and walked across the library, bits of mud coming off his shoes as he made his way to the ancient greek section...it was so much easier to read for him. He grabbed several books and then moved into a nearby chair, and opened up the first of them. To most people it would be boring, but to him, reading about such amazing architecture was the highlight of his quiet time.
As he read his book he hummed gently to himself, a tune his father had sang to him when he was little. For most kids it was their mother singing to them, but for him it was his father. His mother had left his father a long time ago and his father refused to speak of her most of the time, Karil wondered which of the female Godesses was his mother? Unless his father was gay? He laughed at the thought and sunk back into his chair and his book.
"At...least with female Godesses it narrows the field on who could be my mother."✰

| Amy watched as a boy slumped into a chair, after picking up quite a few books about architecture. She smiled, as she always thought about architechture, and looked around, trying to find and excuse to talk to the mystery boy. Unable to find a reason, Amy just walked over to a nearby shelf, attempting to act as if she didn't see the boy. She got a hefty book, and out it down next to the boy, inviting herself to sit down. | |

✰ Karil noticed the girl eyeing him, watching him pick out his books and find his comfortable spot. he made it look like he was reading but as the girl found her book and sat down beside him in the other chair he spoke up, not even looking up from his book.
"Nice...sized book." He stated simply. Not really adding anything else. He took a breathf or a moment before looking up with his deep blue eyes, he tilted his head a little bit and offered a short smile. He was an odd looking boy, always wearing a toque with his hair tucked up into it.
He leaned back in his chair and looked at the girls selection of a book for a moment and smirking a tiny bit, to him...it was obvious that it was more of a ploy to sit and speak to him.✰

| Amy jumped at the boy's voice. She saw him taking a look at the book she managed to pick up, a smirk on his face. She looked at it herself. She didn't actually look at it until that point. It was a book titled "The Encyclopedia of Past Criminals." Amy slapped her forehead. It was completely obvious at this point. "Oh, thanks. So I guess you know that I'm just interested in why you look as if you're in a lot of pain, reading a book about architechture. I don't think I've seen anyone do that. Oh! Amy Silverman, daughter of Athena." She said, holding her hand out to shake. | |

✰ Karil smirked a little bit as she noticed the title of her book finally. So it was either lie and say you were interested in criminals, or just come out and tell the truth. Karil closed his book quietly as the girl chose the honest option.
He leaned back in his chair, studying her for a moment, gathering bits of information based on her appearance as he cracked his shoulder a bit, "Mmm...that's a good question. I, just finished training." he shrugged gently and then looked down at his book, "I...just like architecture, helps me relax after battling the undefeatable stick dummies."
He extended his own hand, a few bruises laying across his hands, "Karil Sakuya...Son of someone I'm sure. I just have no idea yet." He shrugged idly and shook her hand before adjusting his toque, it was the one thing that held his rather long jet-black hair in check beneath it.✰

| "Those stick dummies get me every time." Amy joked, trying to forget about the fact that Karil probably thought that she was nuts. "I like your toque, but your hair looks a bit too adorable to keep hidden." Amy let slip before slapping her hand to her mouth. "T-That's not what I meant! It's just that I usually obsess over hair, due to the fact that red hair isn't all too natural to a child of Athena." She tried to explain, failing miserably. Amy isn't all too good at trying to explain. "How did you get all those bruises?" She asked, getting off the subject. | |

✰ Karil smiled gently and rubbed his head a little, "Hehe...it's like they were made to be unbeatable or something huh?" He asked with a simple shrug of his shoulders. His mind drifted a little bit, his eyes flickering back to his books for a short moment, he considered just saying goodbye, he wasn't good with people after all, but something tugged him to talk to her a bit more.
He reached up, adjusting his toque gently as a pink streak formed across his cheeks, "Haha..thank you. Though I rarely let my hair down..." He stated. Only one person in his life had ever seen his hair down, and they were dead now. He leaned back in his chair and nodded in understanding as she tried to correct herself.
"I..see. Are other colors uncommon for children of Athena?" he asked in genuine curiousity. He yawned a little and smiled after they finished shaking hands and she took notice of the bruises.
"Ah...those. Let's just say I...practice a bit too hard sometimes...then again, it's really all I have to do. I spend all my time training, in here or at the stables. No room for much sleep either." he shrugged idly, talking a bit more than usual.✰

| "Most kids of Athena are born with beach blonde hair, and stormy gray eyes. A lot of children of Athena hang out around here. Not as much as I do, but I like going into somewhere hidden so the librarians can't kick me out." I said quietly, pointing to a corner which couldn't be seen by a librarian unless they really looked. Karil was the only person who really talked to her, without judging her. She smiled absentmindedly, kind of lost in eternal thought. She snapped herself out of it. "Sorry about that, I just let my mind drift so often." She said, with a nervous laugh. | |

✰ Karil reached up and fished one of the shorter strands of his raven black hair from his cap and sighed, "Hmn...guess that probably rules me out as being a child of Athena...because I have neither of those traits." He twirled the hair about his finger for a moment before tucking it neatly behind his head.
He looked to the side at the librarian and chuckled, "Yes...I could see where that would be beneficial." he smiled gently and leaned back in his chair. It wasn't often he talked with someone so much, but he seemed to get a good feeling from her, something in the pit of his stomach that just made him want to talk.
He chuckled a little bit and waved his hand dismissively, "I know how it goes..don't worry. I often get lost on my own forest of thoughts as well."✰

| "Hey, don't worry. You'll be claimed eventually. And you don't even have the slightest clue on how bad the librarian can get. She once tried to get a harpie after me!" She said, so only Karil could hear. Those librarians absolutley hated her. Nobody knew why, but they did. Amy took a quick look at her "favorite" librarian, who was giving her the evil eye, and then quickly turned back to Karil, shuddering. "And hey, if you do wind up to be a child of Athena, make sure you stick with me. I've learned my ways of surviving in that cabin, and how to get away with staying up all night just to read, and not getting caught. The kids in cabin 9 are really helpful with that." Amy shared, remembering all the times that she got away with that, smiling. | |

✰ Karil smiled genuinely and said, "I'm sure of that...though I'm not quite sure what point there is to being claimed. After all...I don't have much of a place to go beyond here." He shrugged gently and then leaned in close and whispered, "Erm...What's a harpie?" He asked, genuinely confused.
He then sat back up, it was odd for him...asking about something, but he had no prior information leading to what a harpie was, nor what they could possible do to a person. He noted the girls shuddering and the librarian who was eyeing her and then offered a smile, "Well...if things do wind up that way, I will keep you in mind."
He chuckled a little at her comment about staying up late and shrugged, "I usually don't have to worry about being up late in the cabin, I don't sleep. I spend most of my time elsewhere in the camp at night." He stated.
He climbed to his feet and stretched a little bit, "I'm...going for a walk...would you care to tag along? It's nice having someone to talk to."✰

| Amy almost collapsed at Karil's question. "A harpie is a servant of Aeolus, they patrol the camp at night, so you've probably seen them when you're at that 'elsewhere' that you were talking about. They can basically rip you to shreds." She explained, thinking about her own experiences with the harpies, when Karil stood up, and asked to go for a walk. "Sure." She responded, standing up herself. So he doesn't sleep, that would rule him out for Hypnos. Amy thought, walking out with Karil, and a nice handful of books, along with many more in her bag. | |

✰ Karil stretched a bit and blinked a bit, "I see...they sound pretty nasty. Though..I will admit, I have yet to see one. And I mean...I go horseback riding around the camp at night...maybe they just avoid me?" he laughed a little bit and shrugged a little as she took his offered advice to walk with him.
He nodded and checked out only one book, and it pertained to ancient greek structures as well as greek symbols for the gods.
He walked along out of the library and headed along the nearby path towards the beach, it was a good place for a walk. As he walked he looked over to her and said, "So...does being claimed really do anything for someone?" He asked curiously.✰

| Amy walked with Karil, and they reached the beach, Amy's favortie place to be. "Well, claiming doesn't really do anything, but ship you off to that cabin." She explained, taking a look at the book that Karil checked out, thinking for a minute. "You know, you could just be a son of Athena. You know, that might be pretty cool, actually having a friend in the cabin..." She said, thinking about how it would be better to have a reason to not run to the library instead of going to training, and how nice it would be to study with someone who cares about something that you like. It would be really great, she thought. "So, you like horseback riding? I don't really like horses, I got bit by one in the arm when I was 7, and I've been deathly afraid of them ever since." She said, remembering that horrid day.

✰ Karil walked along, he kicked at the sand lightly as he looked over to her and chuckled gently, "Hmn...doesn't sound like anything special to be claimed then." He reached up and as she spoke about him being a son of Athena he thought over various facts for a moment.
"It...would be interesting. And like you said...it'd be nice to have a friend and someone to talk to." He chuckled gently and then spontaneously he tugged his toque off of his head, sending his mid-calf length raven black hair cascading about his form. It seemed almost a magic trick for so much hair to be gathered in his toque.
He smiled gently and nodded, "I...absolutely love horses and riding...it's something that calms me down and keeps my happy. That, and swordplay anyways." He noticed her reason for hating them and smiled in understanding, "Fair enough...but with time...they really are tender creatures, Perhaps you should try and come for a ride with me some time?" He asked curiosuly.✰

| As Karil pulled his toque off, Amy was shocked at how much hair could fall out of it. "Wow. That's a lot of hair..." Amy said absentmindedly, just completley in awe. She chuckled, remembering her remark about his hair back at the library. "Yeah, it isn't all too big. When you are claimed, something that has to do with your godly parent happens, though. Like with Aphrodite, a child would become something that I call, 'spiffyfired' where they get ten tons of un-removable makeup plastered upon them, and a 'cool' new wardrobe." Amy explained, laughing about how horrible it would be if that had happened to her. She shuddered. "You know what, if you can prove to me that horses are really tender, than I would love to go for a ride." Amy said, challenging herself, and Karil. | |

✰ Karil ran a hand through his hair and looked over at her, blushing a small tad and laughing a bit, "Yes...I've grown it out for quite a while. Though not many people get to see it...your the third person, ever." He smiled gently and then looked to the side humming a little bit.
Karil smiled gently and looked over at her, listening and then chuckling a bit at her comment, "Well...let us hope I am not a child of Aphrodite then eh? Because personally...I don't think I could lift ten tons of makeup, or co-ordinate clothing." He laughed gently and thought about it...that was another female goddess after all.
He smiled gently and smirked a bit, "Your on. I'll take that bet. Though I know all the best horses in the stables, so it'll probably be really easy." He winked and laughed and smiled gently looking in the direction of the stables, "Now? Or another time?" he asked curiously.✰

| Amy laughed at the thought, Karil with a pound or two of makeup, and the outfit, that is usually a dress. "Well, we can only hope." She said, doing everything she could not to double over of the thought. Nobody really knew how happy she was to not be a daughter of Aphrodite. She was a complete tomboy. She even went to her 6th Grade Dance in a dirty t-shirt and jeans. Mostly for a symbol, but those girls would have torn her to shreds. Amy followed Karil's gaze, toward the stabled, and started to shake. "Um...I guess now." She said hesitantly, recollecting herself. | |

✰ Karil giggled gently and said, "More than hope. I ought to pray to the gods I'm not a Son of Aphrodite..." He made a silent oath to apologize to the lady goddess after in prayer though. He knew insulting the gods could end potentially in a bad way. He rubbed his head a little bit and walked along a bit.
He kept his gaze on the stables and noted the girls slight shake, "Come along then...I promise things will be fine." He motioned her to follow, he walked off towards the stables, he was obviously very confident, and he had just the horse in mind that would likely make the girl feel very comfortable.
As he got to the stables he looked back at her and said, "Just wait here..." Motioning to a seat near the cross-ties as he hurried to a nearby stable with a beautiful white and brown paint-horse in it, He clipped a leash to her halter and led her out of the cage before clipping her in the cross-ties, "Voila!" he said, holding his hands out in mock glory to the horse, he ran his fingers along the horses nose beneath the halter.
He then looked to Amy, "Come...just touch her head...she's really gentle this one."✰

| Amy saw Karil a bit deep in thought. She remembered what the gods could do to a tiny little demigod who insulted them. Especially if that god or goddess didn't like them in the first place. She looked up at the clouds, and mouthed, "Sorry." before lowering her head. "Note to self, throw a bit of food in for Aphrodite." She thought before heading over to the stables with Karil. He motioned to a seat, which Amy was glad to sit down in. It might not have been the most comfy chair in the world, but her feet had been killing her from that walk. Karil came back a few minutes later with a brown paint horse. "Wow..." Was all that Amy could say. She heard Karil tell her to touch the horse's head, and slowly raised her now violently shaking hand, and placed it on the horse's head. When she opened up her clentched eyes, she smiled at the progress that she made. "Wow, within 5 years, and 13 therapists, you've made more progress in ten minutes." She said, laughing. "Thank you so much!" She followed, removing her hand to squeeze Karil to death. She couldn't really help herself. | |

✰ Karil looked over to Amy for a moment and smiled. He watched her shake a little violently and reached out, Touching her wrist to calm her as she touched the horses head, "Just...be calm. Horses...don't freak out unless they have reason to, when they are agitated. Just...be calm and let her feel your touch." He said this soothingly, to hopefully make the girl calm down.
When she smiled very happily and explained he had done something for her he smiled gently and blinked, squirming a little as she hugged him. He hadn't felt the embrace of someone else in a long time, and wasn't sure how to react, he let her hug him, but didn't hug back. When she finally let him go he rubbed his head and said, "Your...w...welcome."
He reached up patting the horses neck gently, "She seems to like you." As if on queue the horse nuzzled the girl, content with being petted and wanting more. Karil chuckled gently and then said, "The one that bit...so long ago. I'm sure it was either agrivated or something. They don't do such things unless there is a reason, like having a friend. Your friend wouldn't punch you in the nose, unless they had a reason, right?"✰

| Amy couldn't melt the smile off of her face, until the bite was mentioned. It was so scary for little 7 year old Amy. But when Karil explained how there had to be a reason, she thought about what had happened. Her father picked her up, and tried to put her on the horse, and his elbow had hit the horse, and he was stepping on the horse's hoof. Her mouth dropped. When she came back to reality, she saw Karil rubbing the back of his head, stuttering. "Oh, sorry. I don't know what got a hold of myself." She said. "You really do know a lot about horses. You should be a riding instructor." She offered. There were plenty of campers here that could use a few lessons, including herself. | |

✰ Karil smiled gently and ran a hand through his hair. He ran his fingers gently along the horses mane, it nickered gently...relaxing at his touch as he looked to Amy and chuckled, "Oh...no worries." He smiled gently and then blushed a tad at the compliment.
"Thanks...maybe I should be. I've been riding them since I was very little..." He smiled, the relaxed state he was in it was obvious that he felt alot more comfortable around them than most people ever did. The way he seemed to know the spots on the horse to make it content or relax, and how he seemed to have an understanding of them.
He smiled and said, "If only I knew who my god-parent was though...ya know? Maybe I wouldn't feel so lonely." Though in his mind, he didn't think that it was a coincidence that him and this girl had met. Maybe Athena was his god-parent...and this was her way of helping him without claiming him?✰

| Amy thought for a moment as she remembered a sure-fire sign of being a child of Athena. "Hey, I know this is random, but, are you afraid of spiders?" She asked, not giving a reason. She didn't care if he thought that she was a complete weirdo now. She looked back at the horse, who looked almost as if it were smiling. "What's her name?" She asked, trying to recollect the courage to touch the horse again. Amy didn't like being afraid of things that she didn't have a good reason for fearing. She noticed Karil, knee deep in thought. "It must be awful not to have been claimed." She said, empathetically. | |

✰ Karil blinked a bit at her question and rubbed his head, blushing a tad. He looked down at his feet for a moment and then chuckled, "Yes...I really do. They freak me out completely...just the thought of them." He shuddered a little. He'd always been afraid of spiders.
He looked up at her and then smiled, patting the horses rump, "Her name is Daydream. She is two years old...and I must admit, very well trained." He giggled a little bit and then thought about things for a second, he scooped a brush from a nearby bucket and held it out to Amy, "Give her mane a brush. It'll help you connect with her and relax."
Karil looked up at the roof and said, "Well..I've heard some people have been here for years and haven't been claimed. I hope I don't end up being one of those people." He offered a shor tsmile and stretched a little. He had to admit, he was glad to have met this girl.✰
