Charm and Innocence {Private to Uryuu}

A week had certainly done a lot for me in this camp. This was my eighth day in this mythological camp-that I still wasn't convinced was more than just a very long dream-and I was finally starting to find my place. After my day with Kyle I had taken lessons everyday to learn to ride Pegasus better. I was a natural and I caught on very quickly. Already I was taking advanced classes.

My sword fighting was slowly progressing as well. I was going to all my lessons and I volunteered for everything possible but very rarely did I stay after to practice. I loved the rush I got when I practiced but no one would stay after to work with me and I was not about to use the stupid dummy. Besides, I didn't want to ruin my sword or something. That would be a true tragedy.

Through out the week though, only one thing stayed at the front of my mind. Kyle Storm. I had found a few Aphrodite girls I had become fast friends with along with one other girl from the Khione cabin. She had become my best friend real quick. My friend, Layna, had been here eleven years so she knew a lot of the camper's stories. When I had mentioned Kyle getting upset when I asked about his family she gave me a real funny look and asked what he had said. After I explained what happened she had told me Kyle's mom had died getting him here.

I have to admit I kind of avoided him for a while after that. I didn't know if I should tell him I knew of forget it or be upset. I understood though and I was more upset with myself. Yesterday I had decided I really liked him though and I wasn't going to avoid him anymore.

"Hey! Kelyn! Come on, snap out of it! I asked you a question!" Alayna Nash said irritated.

"Huh? Oh, what? Sorry, I got...distracted." I said looking at her. She was holding up two tank tops. One was red with black sequins and the other was a bit of a more dressy olive colored one with a ruffle at the neckline. "Which one did you want to borrow?" she repeated.

"Oh, um...the green if you don't mind." I said as she handed it over.

"Not at all, that's what I was thinking. It makes your hair look brighter." she complimented. I put it on and thanked her before leaving the cabin with her. We went our separate ways as the armory approached.

I walked in quietly and sat down on the stool about five feet behind Kyle. It wasn't too hot since I was only wearing board shorts and a tank top over my swimsuit. "So...whatcha makin?" I asked him curiously.

I had decided to ask him on a date despite my sisters' constant reminders that I had more innocence and less charm than a puppy. Why should I have to wait for him to ask me? Maybe he didn't even care much for me. I would never know unless I asked him.

"Not really anything important, just came to see you. Hope that's ok?" I asked with a sweet smile.

The smile was mostly because I realized he looked really hot, in both definitions of the word. I had been told that Hephaestus campers didn't get overheated very often but he looked rather hot at the moment. But also, I realized he had a lot more muscle than I had originally thought. He looked absolutely gorgeous. Like one of those models you see in fragrance catalogs.

"So, just out of curiosity, how many weapons have you made since you met me? Including mine," I asked him. It seemed like when ever I saw him he was working on something or another. "Do you ever take a break?" I questioned critically.

I had decided while walking to the armory not to ask him right off the back. I would ease into it and test the waters first.

"Three whole swords in one week?" I said impressed. That seemed like a ridiculous amount of work in one week to me. He must have been even better than I thought.

"Well, I just wanted to make sure because every time I've seen you you have been working on something. So, I guess one more break wouldn't make that much of a difference, right?" I hinted subtly.

His smile was absolutely breathtaking and his laugh was contagious to me. Hearing it made my day just a little better every time.

OOC: I stink at romance rping so forgive me if I totally suck lol



I shrugged, totally oblivious to what she was hinting at. "Probably not," I told her. "I mean, now that I have that Stygian sword out of the way, I have a bunch of free time," I told her. I dumped some water on the flames and put on a shirt, not wanting to seem like I had no care about what people thought of me. I grabbed some wooden rods and began making the arrow heads to go on them. It was nimble work, but I was sure I could make 5 by the time the conversation was over.

I groaned internally seeing he didn't get it. Why did I have to be so bad at this? Maybe I could use my charm speak. No, it seemed wrong. I didn't want to do that because it would totally be him accepting or declining. When I did that it was like I invaded their mind and twisted it so they wanted to do what I asked. You didn't do that to someone you liked.

"So, then, what about coming to the lake with me then?" I asked him biting my lip nervously. It wasn't really asking him on a date...yet, but I had promised to meet some friends at the lake and I wanted to keep talking to him. I always felt more confidant with Layna around anyways. Mostly because I knew if I didn't ask him she would ask him for me

"Well, I certainly am and you're free to join me, though!" I teased with a laugh. I wasn't the type of girl who went to the lake just to tan and let people admire her. I went and had fun. "Ok so I will meet you there in a few minutes," I said walking out with a slight skip to my step.

I sat down at the edge of the water, having decided to wait until he got here. Most of the others (OOC: Random people XD except Layna and if you want to say any of your other characters are there or something) were already in the lake. I sighed and took off my shirt, stuffing it in my bag. I was wearing a lavender and olive one piece bathing suit. I had always thought it was tacky to wear a two piece on a first date. Ok so this wasn't a date but my rule still applied!

Dude this is so awkward she didn't tell me it was a girl....Haha but I totally know how he feels! I have so done that before.

I stood up and whistled when he got close enough. "Hey good lookin!" I said because it was true. I kissed his cheek before smiling and jumping into the lake. I kid of felt bad that there wasn't that many guys but I didn't know who all was coming. It was sort of just an open invite. Oh well. That just meant I would have more time to flirt with him so it all worked in my favor and his too.

Oh my gosh so I just got my computer back and read this and can not stop laughing. If all guys think this is what goes through a girl's head there is no hope for civilization! NONE! I will send the real reply in a minute

I was slightly nervous, hoping he wouldn't mind the amount of people or the lack of males. I hadn't arranged it and it had been an open invitation. Layna nudged me and jumped in the lake so I knew Kyle had arrived. She could be so pushy.

"Um, hey Kyle! Sorry about all the people...Layna said it was just a few friends...not the whole frickin camp!" I said slightly irritated with her. I had met most of the people already but I had decided which I was not going to socialize with too. I tended to be a bit wary of those I hung out with. I just didn't like people who seemed like a bad influence. "So, I'm going swimming? You coming?" I said awkwardly before diving into the lake. The spot we had chosen was pretty deep so I wasn't too worried about hitting my head or anything.

OOC: I wrote this and he 'revised' it. LOL he thought it should be noted whether the lake was deep and if she hit her head when she dived XDDDD

I surfaced behind him and jumped on his back laughing. "So, what exactly is your idea of a break cause I have an odd feeling this isn't it...Gosh, you need to have more fun, Kyle!" I teased him. I was having way too much fun right now.

OOC: I know it's short :(

"That is so not a break!" I said bursting out laughing I let go of him and treaded water as I regained my breath. I realized my hair was still down and tied it up before it could get knotted

"Oh my gosh he is so adorable! He's yours?" I asked looking at the little puppy. I loved animals, especially little ones. Kyle had just gained like a million bonus points in my book. I had never really pictured him as an animal type guy for some reason. Well, everyone is wrong...occasionally.

I nodded, watching the goofy dog paddle around. "Yeah, he's mine. Got it from my mom," I said, a lump forming in my throat. I tried to let it go and live in the moment. "Thanks for inviting me," I said, turning to look back at Kelyn.

"I'm so sorry Kyle," I said before I could stop myself. I wasn't so supposed to know! Crap! Now he was going to hate me forever.

I tried desperately to think of something to cover up with. There wasn't anything I could say to cover it up and there was no taking it back now. Not without using my gift for charm speak. I wasn't going to do that, though. I looked back to the dog and smiled just a bit before turning to him.

"I'm sorry, I know you didn't want me to know but Layna told me and I didn't know if I should tell you I knew or not so I was avoiding you cause I was afraid something like this would happen and I didn't mean to it just slipped out! I'm sorry..." I trailed off biting my lip.

I smiled and laughed a bit, finding it odd that he should be comforting me. "Right, well then...chicken fight!" I called out. Instantly people were vying for partners and calling who the were fighting first. It was like I had unleashed a monster.

"Be my partner?" I asked him laughing still, "You should know, I never lose!" I warned him with mock seriousness. But it was the truth. I had never lost. I could get pretty vicious...

I laughed. "Sure!" I said, going over to the shallow end where we could stand up. "Get on my shoulders, quick!" I said, as people splashed through the water to try and get to people.
