| I hate sleeping. No, really. It's boring and a waste of my time. So, instead of sleeping for eight hours (or even four), I do fun stuff. I read, sometimes, or go mess about in the forest, or just... Come to the beach. I like the beach at night. Sure, the water's like ice, but it's quiet and calm and smells so nice. It kinda reminds me of trips to the beach when I was little, during the summer, before I started coming to camp. My mum and I would get a hotel room, and go to the beach during the day and in the middle of the night. I've always been used to staying up until three and getting up at seven every day--I never really realised it was abnormal until I came to camp and everyone slept a lot. Anyway, the beach is lovely. I'm lying in the sand, feet barely getting brushed by water every so often. It's a clear night, so I'm stargazing, trying to remember the stories for the different constellations. It'd be more fun if someone showed up, but I doubt anyone will. I'm unlucky like that. |

| // Dylan is a girl, just clearing up any possibly confusion :)
Dylan was bored. And insomniacitic(sp). it was just one of those nights where she coulden't sleep. She coulden't play any video games, either. Not with her cabin-mates sleeping so she decided to slip out onto the beach with a hand-held and a pack of ciggarettes. She walked down to the beach, stumbling slightly because her eyes were glued to her screen. She looked up breifly and saw a girl already on the beach. "Hey." Dylan said, the word coming out muffled due to the ciggarette hanging from her lips. |

| I sniffed a little, frowning a touch at the smell of cigarettes. I wasn't a fan--reminded me of when my mum and I got stuck in the smoking section of pubs. Could be worse, though. I propped myself up on my elbows, smiling at the girl. 'Hi. Who's that, then?' I adjusted my glasses, which had gotten salt on them from when I'd taken them off earlier (and promptly dropped them in the ocean). |

| "Huh?" Dylan asked, having been distracted by her game. Her ciggarette had burned down as far as it could go by now and she immediatly lit another, grinding the butt of the first beneath her boot. |

| I noticed the game in her hands--it sort of lit up her face. I couldn't really recognize her, but I'm pretty nearsighted, so... 'I was asking who you are. I can't really see you.' I lifted my salty glasses. 'They're all salty and dirty, and I haven't rinsed them off yet.' As she dropped the cigarette, I couldn't help but make a face. 'And no offence meant, but that's sort of disgusting.' |

| "Oh. I'm Dylan Pieper." She said, pushing some of her red hair away from her face irritably. "And It's only disgusting if you don't like it." |

| 'Nice to meet you, Dylan,' I replied, smiling a little. 'I'm Perry. Daughter of Hermes. Who's your immortal parent, then?' I chose not to comment on the second part--a lot of people got up in arms about things like smoking, I'd come to realise. |

| // Are you from 'cross the pond?
"I'm a daughter of Zelus. Well, the only one, as far as I know." Dylan replied, taking a drag off her cigarette. |

| ((OOC: No, but I have a good number of online friends that are, so I picked up the spellings over time out of habit. Also, it makes sense in my head to write in that style, since my two characters are from across the pond... It makes sense to me, anyway.))
'Interesting. I haven't really seen as much about him in mythology... But he seems interesting, from what little of him I've read.' I smiled a little, rolling my shoulders. 'So what brings you, Dylan, daughter of Zelus, out here at this time of night?' I put a bit of dramatic flair on the "Dylan, daughter of Zelus" part, just to be silly. |
