| ADAM DUNLAP Sit down, call off the cavalry, I'm stealing the jewels, In a slow motion action replay... Bar fight, I invented chivalry, Notch in my bedpost, slow motion action replay. _________________________________________________________________ Flinging open the door to the library, he stepped in, and let the cool air brush against his skin, showing that the newly-built library wasn't only quiet, it was comfortable. Content with his discovery, he nodded to himself, and began moving through the aisles of books, absently reading the spines. He wasn't interested in the books, really, just the people. As his eyes scanned, however, one caught his eye, forcing him to stop in his tracks and approach it. "Harry Potter...?" Furrowing his brow, he moved his hand up, removing the book from it's shelved state. Flipping it over in his hands, he read the back, feeling himself slowly grow interested.
Deciding to stop wandering for a moment, he leaned against the bookcase, and flipped open the novel he had decided to investigate. As he read, the minutes ticked away, until he had finished the second chapter, and twenty minutes had passed. Managing to pull himself away, he closed it, and searched for a clock. Finding that it was already a bit past eight, he knew that it must of been growing darker outside. Clearing his throat, he began absently wandering again, book in hand, boredom in mind. Exhaling, Adam placed the book onto the shelf in a random spot, and slid to the ground, sighing. Were his nights always this uninteresting?

| CINNAMON 'SYN' RAYNE The sound of someone entering the library, who new discovery, reached her ears, though it didn't serve to snap her out of her 'daze.' Piercing blue-green eyes darted excitedly across the page as she, Syn, read for the 'fist-time.' It wasn't surprising that the books piled around her were all about animals and nature, though her expression was not that of fascination, but of complete amusement. She suppressed giggles and a large smile with great difficulty, though the corners of her light pink lips quivered upwards in a secret smile.
After a few more minutes, she placed the book aside, stacking it with a dozen others on her left while reaching for the next one on the pile to her right. She had made herself a little castle, hiding in a dark corner that no-one really went to. Concealed there, Syn was content, happy to learn what other people see animals as in the dim light. Being the daughter of Maya, her eyes could see in the dark with relatively little difficulty.
Her fingers brushed the cover of the book when she heard the sound of someone sliding down a bookcase and to the ground. Hesitating, her head snapped up, peering through the gaps in the bookcases as she strained to hear. She saw a flicker of movement, and heard a sigh. Frowning, she cautiously stood, careful not to disturb the piles of books about her as she moved forward, and peered curiously around the corner of the aisle. Her eyes immediate focused on the male sitting on the floor half way down, his unruly black hair masking his features from her. But that didn't matter to her, she could recognize this boy anywhere, and she smiled with unconstrained excitement as she was overcome by a puppy-like urge to play. The grin turned mischievous as she realized he hadn't seen her, and she began to tip toe silently towards him, until she was less than a foot away. She crouched, then jumped forward, landing right next to him a dull thud as she leant over him and whispered into his ear. "Adam...." | |

| ADAM DUNLAP Sit down, call off the cavalry, I'm stealing the jewels, In a slow motion action replay... Bar fight, I invented chivalry, Notch in my bedpost, slow motion action replay. _________________________________________________________________ Tick, tock, tick, tock... Adam sighed in boredom once again, listening to the monotonous sound of the clock. The silence grew on, causing him to shift uneasily. Feeling a strange, yet oddly familiar sensation, he inhaled, letting himself settle for a moment.
"Adam..."
Nearly leaping out of his skin, he slid away from the figure beside him, gasping for breath in his terror. Regaining himself, he took a few deep breaths, and laid on the floor, glaring up at the ceiling. His frown quickly changed into a grin, however, as he focused in on the person, and their outline in the dim light. "Syn," he began, sitting up. Throwing his arms around her from their spot in crouches, he laughed, and continued. "How can you even see?" Pulling himself away from her, he leaned against the bookcase, smiling. "Never mind, sometimes I forget who I'm talking to. Really, you never cease to amaze me." Brushing a strand of raven-colored hair from his eyes, he glanced around, searching for anyone else.
His emerald gaze scanned the darkness, and his fingers tapped absently against his legs, as if they were searching for something to do. "I haven't seen you in a while," he offers up, smiling. Casually, he slipped his arm around her, laying his head on her shoulder. "I missed you," he mutters, as if embarrassed, and turns a bit red. "I mean, well, er..." His face darkened even more, shyly, and he abandoned his sentence. "Never mind." Turning his head so that his face was buried in her shoulder, he took in a breath, loving the familiar essence that she carried with her. Adam couldn't help but enjoy her presence, as one often did around someone like her.

| CINNAMON 'SYN' RAYNE
Barely stifling the laugh that escaped her lips at his reaction, Syn's eyes danced, and she bit her bottom lip as if to stop herself from making any noise, though her large grin was gleeful. Still quivering slightly with her sudden burst of excitement, she allowed herself her flop lazily onto the floor beside him, sitting cross legged as she watched his eyes trail across the room.
As she felt his breath on her shoulder, Syn couldn't help but giggle, blushing lightly as his warm breath tickled her. She nudged him gently, her eyes glinting in the dim light as she smiled at him before sighing happily. "You know, that was very...animal of you" Syn said with a laugh, then shrugged it off quickly with a shake of her head, though there was a reddish tinge to her cheeks.
She smiled childishly at at him, showing something akin to guilt in her soft features. She glanced about, quickly taking in the emptiness of the library before she spoke. "I missed you too," Syn said quickly, trying not to laugh at his sudden shyness, blushing a little more herself. "And....If you had seen me...I'd be worried you were seeing things" she spoke with her head resting against his, her voice slightly cautious. With an arm around her, she leaned in to his embrace, snug. She knew her sentence wouldn't make sense, and she quickly explained. "I left the camp" her voice became a whisper, as if it were a dark secret no-one should overhear.
