Jena Drew-Aphrodite
"Love isn't easy, but when it comes take it."
Jena sat with her feet crossed on the steps of the Aphrodite cabin. Her hair was down close to her delicate face. Jena's blue eyes wondered to anyone or thing who happened to pass by. She was in a blue areopostale sweatshirt and jeans. Jena slid her size 8 feet in and out of her flip-flop for fun. It was early in the morning, time when she usually would be practicing her gymnastic moves. As well as her cheers.

Now she would never need to do that. Jena was still figuring out why she had to be different. As much as her old life stressed her out, she enjoyed seeing her friends. Here Jena had none.

I was bored to death, not knowing what to do. I had been in my cabin all day fiddling with my knives off of my calves. It was only about three o'clock in the afternoon. I might have some time to take a couple jogs around the camp. So I jumped off my top bunk, grabbed my sword, and walked out the cabin. I walked around the cabins to get my blood pumped up. When I passed the Aphrodite cabin I just a girl about my age standing there. I stopped for a few seconds and walked up to her. "Hey, I'm Devin Millsvil, son of Hermes." I said leaning against the porch of the steps. "What's wrong?" I asked.

Jena turned her blue eyes towards Devin. "Oh hi, I'm Jena Drew daughter of Aphrodite." she said managing a small smile. Jena sighed and looked at the boy's weapons. "What are you doing carrying those around? Nothing's the matter really I'm just thinking." she said answering his question. Jena brushed her hair out of her eyes to look more at Devin. "Hermes huh? Cool." she muttered smiling.

"Hello Jena Drew, daughter of Aphrodite." I said with a smile. I noticed that she was looking at my weapons on my calves, I think. "Oh, I'm about to head out in the woods for a walk or jog. I stay out there pretty long, so I take my weapons. There's no telling what you can encounter while your out there for hours."I said walking away a few steps. I turned around to look back at Jena. I called out to her,"Would you like to join me? The woods is a nice place to think!" I smiled.

Jena smiled to show her white teeth. "Sure, just let me get my daggers." she said rushing into the pink cabin. When she came out five minutes later she had her daggers and fresh make-up on. Jena also brought her camera which was placed over her wrist so she wouldn't lose it. "Okay let's go!" Jena said with a grin.

Daggers, I thought. And there is once again another person. I smiled when Jena had rushed into her cabin to get her weapons. About five minutes later I found her with her daggers and a beautiful face. I started to stare at her, but snapped out of it. I looked away. No, I thought. It's just to.., my mind went into a distance. I noticed that she had a camera on the side of her wrist. Another five minutes later we both were deep in the woods walking around and loving the nature. Everything was silence. I couldn't stand it so I said, "So.... may I ask what you are thinking about? Not to be to personal or something, but I needed to end this quietness.

Jena smiled and almost laughed. "I'm just thinking about my old life, I'm still adapting to life here. I used to live in Floria this is so different. It doesn't help I don't really know anyone here." she replied. Jena spotted a blue jay and pulled out her camera. After taking a few shots at the bird she put the camera back.

"Well, your not the only here that's not from this kind of terrain and stuff. I lived in Seattle. I ran away from my home. Lived on the other side of the country. Ran from some places, sneaked on trains, I just flew by everything like it was nothing. Within about seven days of non-stop moving I was here in New York." I said as walking. I came to a stop because there was this giant tall tree in front of me. I smiled. It was Tori's favorite tree to climb, I remembered. I started to climb to the top. "You like climbing!" I yelled down still climbing forward.

Jena shrugged. "I don't know. There aren't many tall trees in Florida." she said. 'What the heck why not?' she thought. Jena began climbing up the oak tree. "It's kinda fun, you can see everything from here!" she said looking out from the tree. Jena took out her camera for more pictures.

I heard a little noise behind me. I looked down to see two of my friends. I started to smile. I watched as Jena was still taking pictures, so I snapped two twigs off and poked Jena. She looked at me in alarm. "Look at this." I quietly whispered as pointing down. She looked down. I let out my hand and dropped the two twigs on my two friends. "What the crap!" One of the two yelled. I started to laugh, but kept it to myself. I watched as one of them looked up. "Devin! Oh, I'm going to kill you!" Again, one of them said. I yelled out,"How are you going to do that! Your not a very good climber Cal!" I smiled.I started to get comfortable on my branch.

Jena grinned and watched the result of the twigs. Setting her camera back in it's spot she too got comfortable. Jena didn't know if it would be wise to talk or not, considering she didn't know them. Instead she just giggled as his friends spoke about their payback.

I watched as Cal and Katro stood there looking up at me. I smiled and laughed at them. I knew that both of them couldn't climb as well like this tree. About a minute passed and I watched in delight as Cal and Katro walked off. I layed back against the tree branch. It was once again quiet. I peered one open to find Jena still taking pictures. "You know. This isn't just a one spot view. There are many other places in these woods that have fantastic pictures to take. You want me to show you?" I asked.

Jena smiled and nodded. "Sure, thanks Devin." she said climbing down. Once Jena stepped her feet on the ground she peered up at Devin. "I'm waiting, let's go!" she said happily.

I watched as she climbed down very fast. I was pretty surprised. Somehow while I was climbing my shirt got tangled with a branch. I started to laugh. "Hold on!" I yelled down. A few seconds later I had to take off my shirt and tear the branch out myself. I came down shirtless. "Sorry about this." I said with a smile. My shirt was torn in bits in my hand. I lead Jena to the wonderful spot I was talking about, which was a twenty-five foot waterfall. "Take a look at this beauty!" I yelled. I took off my shoes, and weapons, layed them by a tree, and jumped into the water.

Jena smirked. "I don't mind." she said following him. Jena found herself gagging at the beauty of the waterfall. She took out her camera and took several pictures. Jena watched Devin jump into the water, as he did she took a picture. She looked at the picture and smiled, it showed Devin jumping into the water. Jena sighed, it looked like fun. She took off her sweatshirt to reveal a pink tank top. Then she slipped off her flip-flops. Jena jumped into the water with Devin. The water wiped off five minutes of make-up but she didn't care.

I looked over at Jena, who was taking pictures of me in the water, I think. I watched as she took off her sweatshirt and flipflops and jumped in. A few minutes passed and I watched as Jena's make-up came off. My jaw dropped, I think. She was even more beautiful without it. Why do Aphrodite girls wear make-up when they are already beautiful, I thought. The whole entire time I was in the water was quietness. So I said," Your not a person who likes to talk much with people you haven't met don't you?"

Jena shrugged. "I suppose. I traveled the world, but those people knew who I was. Here it's different. I'm just lost, no worries I'll find my way." she said smiling. Jena swam under the water feeling it go through her brown hair. when she popped up she was completely wet.

"Yeah, but I would like to help you work with you faster to your way. I like to help people." I said trying to balance myself on the water. I watched as Jena went under water and came back up soaked. I started laugh. "Roof!" I heard. I turned my head to find one of newest friends Gray Wolf. "Truler! Hey there boy!" I yelled releasing myself from floating. I watched in delight as Truler came running into the water towards me. I started to laugh as water was kicked on me.

Jena smiled. "That's great I guess I need all the help I can get." she said. Jena looked at the wolf, Truler. "Oh he's so cute, where did you get him?" she asked swimming closer to Devin.

I started to laugh as Truler started to lick my face. "Sor-lick-ry! He lik-lick-es to lick-lick-me!" I said with a smile. I watched as Jena swimmed closer to me. "Well, actually he's not mine. This is one of my friend's Wolf. You know Kaitlyn from the Ares cabin?" I said. I covered my face as Truler started to shake all the water off. I started to laugh once again. It slowed down as I thought, that this was a moment I had actually laughed. I haven't laughed this much since Tori. My laughing suddenly silenced and Jena looked at me. "Sorry.." I said. I felt tears growing behind my eyes, but painfully held them back.

Jena looked concerned. "What wrong Devin? You seem sad. Please tell me, I have a way of making people feel better." she said with pleading eyes. Jena watched as his eyes turned from dry to glassy. Jena's eyes seemed to say 'please, please tell me'.

I felt a tear run down my cheek. I wiped it away suddenly. "Oh, uh... it's nothing really." I said petting Truler again. He started to lick me once more. I looked over at Jena, who was still staring at me with plead in her eyes. I sighed. "Alright, just a few weeks ago I lost the girl I loved. I don't know how she died or whatsoever, but when I visited her grave she said that they had wiped my memory. I was there the day she died. We just met one day and hung out the rest of that day. We suddenly made feelings for each other. I see her once in a while, only because Hades won't let her or he'll get mad." I said softly. I felt tears coming down. The though of Tori, made is so painful. I looked up at Jena. "Sorry, you have to see me like this." I said wiping away my tears.

Jena even began tearing up. "Ohh! that's so sad! I feel so bad for you Devin. Tori must have been a lucky girl." she said. " I would be doing the same thing if someone I cared about was lost forever. Oh Devin I feel so bad!" Jena said.

I smiled. "I was the lucky person here." I said. I heard in the woods as Truler's name got called. His ears popped up and he ran out of the water. I covered my face once again with my hands to cover the water. I started to laugh a little. I looked over at Jena and found that she was doing the same thing. I noticed that she was closer to me. I smiled at Jena locking eyes with her. I slowly leaned in closer to her. I gently put my finger on her chin to help her tip her head.

Jena was about to go through with this when a thought hit her. "Devin I-I can't do this." she said getting out of the water. Jena had a date with another boy that night, she couldn't bare to double cross, not again. "I'm sorry, I can't." she muttered grabbing her sweatshirt.
