Jena sighed. "Well my dad travels constantly for his job, sometimes he takes me with him. One trip to London however mocks me. It was the trip my dad met my stepmother. I hate that vile bag of dirt. After that my dad took her on trips instead of me. I spent my teen years in Florida. I went to a private school where I was in the gymnastics team and on the cheerleading squad." she explained.

"Oh thats horrible," I said smiling, one thing I remember my brother saying, is make contact with the person, it makes them feel more comfortable. I reached out my arm and put two fingers on her arm. I smiled as I pulled back. Blake was always good when it came to girls. Although, he sometimes gives me fake tips so he can watch me mess up.

Jena nodded. "Yeah that's what everyone says." she said half-heartedly. Jena hated it when she had to talk about her family. "Sorry, it's just... complicated." she said sadly. Jena avoided talking any more about the subject.

Jake Reed:

The whole time Noah explained what she thought of Jimmy, Jake listened. He nodded his head whenever she made a point, and made the appropriate, "Oh," when she finished. "That makes since." Jake looked at the ground, rather embarrassed. He should have put everything Noah had said together! Not being able to do so, Jake felt extremely stupid. He didn't stand a chance with Noah. Ugh!

"Sorry . . . I just . . . What do you think of me?" Jake blurted quickly, unable the grab the words out of the air and take them back. It was already out there, and she could answer it however she wanted. That might mean breaking Jake's heart, or making it whole, or just leaving it the way it was: messed up.

To cover up his outburst, the son of Zeus deiced he would add something to his question. "I mean . . . I didn't mean to say that." Jake shook his head in an aggravated way, sitting up instead of lounging. "Well, I did, but you know have to answer unless you have something to say." Jake groaned.

"I'm such an idiot!" Jake told himself, feeling like he needed to punch something. What had done?

Noah allowed him to ramble. Why did he seem so flustered? 'It doesn't make sense...did I say something?' she thought, pursing her lips as she thought back through the conversation.
When he was done rambling, her brow furrowed and she frowned. "...Well...I think you seem like a nice enough person. A bit strange...but nice. But I haven't known you for very long, you know. I can't form valid opinions just like that," she replied. Noah sat up and pulled her knees to her chest, using them as a rest for her chin.

Jake sighed. So she did answer. There was something about Noah that was almost humorous. She didn't seem to understand that Jake liked her. That was best, Jake guessed. They could talk more casually, and it would be if she knew and obviously didn't feel the same. Jake would drop hints like he had been, but hopefully Noah wouldn't notice.

"Alright. That sounds reasonable," Jake replied. "I mean, we just met. It's not like we're, um, BFFLs (pronounced biffels) yet." Jake laughed once, enjoying his use of the BFFL word. That was what the girls in his old dance class had called each other, and somehow they managed to drag him into the best friend thing. It was kind of embarrassing.

"You want to know what I think of you?" Jake asked, leaning against her again.

Noah studied him a moment with her inquisitive, yet innocent blue gaze. "Umm...yeah sure. Go ahead and tell me," she replied, shrugging her shoulders. Noah was completely indifferent on the topic of other's opinions of her. However, what's one opinion going to hurt?
Noah silently wondered why he kept invading her personal space. Although Noah didn't really have a large personal bubble, she still found it odd he continued to lean against her. 'MAybe he's tired or something..' she thought.

"Alright then, here it goes." Jake had a lot of things to say, but he wasn't going to tell Noah that he liked her. Not after her description of him. He was going to be honest, though, as he always tried to be.

"I think you're beautiful, and a very natural and kind girl. You seem to be shy, but something tells me you're closing yourself off a bit. You're protecting yourself, probably because new people aren't your thing, or something happened in the past. What else? I know! Even though we've just met, I feel extremely comfortable around you, and you are already a friend to me, Noah." As Jake talked, he made motions with his hands as if he was telling a story, explaining Noah to herself.

"Oh, and, um, I think I might like you." What happened to keeping the cat in the bag? Oh well. It was out there, and Jake actually felt a little better now that he got it off his chest. "And I'm sorry about it. I know we just met."

Noah's brow furrowed as she studied him a moment. "High opinions for someone you've just met.." she mused. Noah stretched out her legs, contemplating over everything he had said. 'Have I closed myself off?' she thought. 'I suppose so...that way in case he left, I wouldn't get hurt..' her mind replied.
Noah let out a sigh, slowly nodding her head. 'Maybe I should...let go?' she thought, her brow furrowing as she thought about letting herself be vulnerable again.
Noah then turned her attention to Jake. "Thank you...I suppose. One quick question, though. What about that Angel girl? The Aphrodite cabin leader?" she inquired. Surely a daughter of Aphrodite must have more beauty to her than a daughter od Eos. It was just the way things worked. So why did Jake seem to prefer her? 'It just doesn't make sense..' she thought, pursing her lips.

Jimmy walked onto the beach. He was forcing himself to attend this thing. He had picked up Noah's car and worked on it all day. He had been making trips to the junk yard and camp all day. That girl owed him gas money.
Jimmy looked around observing all the people. He didn't really care for social events. He found them incredibly boring. That's when he spotted Noah. He smiled slowly, before realizing she was with a different guy.
'Maybe they're together. The least I can do is be her friend,' he told himself miserably. Jimmy trudged over to his friend. "Hey." He said to Noah. He nodded at the boy, "I'm Jimmy," he stuck out his hand.

'I'll love you to the moon and back...'

Noah's head spun around as she heard a familiar voice. A wide smile stretched across her freckled face and she abruptly rose to her feet. "Jimmy! Hey! Noah hesitated a moment before she gave him a slightly awkward hug. Noah looped her thumbs in the pockets of her jean shorts. "I thought you would be asleep, since you've been in the armory all day," she said. Noah sat back down in her seat and patted the area beside her with a smile.

He asked, pulling a pair of aviators out of the pocket of jeans. He slipped them on his face, making the emotion in his eyes be concealed.

Jake Reed:

Jake looked up at the boy. That was the Jimmy Noah had been talking about. Well, his chances were over. The least Jake could do was say hello. Still, the corrupt son of Zeus couldn't make the words come out, so when Jimmy's hand flew to Noah's head, Jake decided to let the whole thing happen. Jake needed to be Noah's friend now. He wasn't going to be her boyfriend, but a friend was better than nothing.

Standing up, Jake nodded at Jimmy. "Jake," Jake said, his hands hanging loosely at his sides. "Noah's told me a lot about you," he mentioned, wanting to make Jimmy feel more like a part of the party. After all, they were going to be spending the night at the same party. They might as well not make it awkward.

"I'm not much of a party guy myself, but I was out running, and I saw Noah all alone. I decided I should come talk to her." Nodding awkwardly, Jake looked at Noah, whose eyes were glowing with happiness. "I don't normally like parties, but, this one's alright."

Seth just sorta galnced around for a minute, his eyesight still groggy from being hal-awake. His head was pounding with the noise. He walked slowly down the beach and wiped his eyes. He found a spot off away from the crowd and sat down, trying to take this scene in

Noah nodded her head, glancing between Jake and Jimmy. "Yep, Jake here rescued me from being lonely," she replied, nudging Jake gently in the shoulder with her own.
Noah then turned her attention to Jimmy with a warm smile. "Thanks for coming, it was sweet of you," she said, rocking back an forth on her heels a bit. Her freckled cheeks flushed a light shade of pink and she averted her gaze. "I'm gonna go see if there are any non-alcoholic drinks over there..anyone want anything?" Noah asked, tilting her head with mild curiosity.

And this wasn't being the life. Then I saw a boy just sitting over at the edge. Whatever. I walked over to him and sat down. "Hey, I'm Kayden Marqui." I held out my hand for him to shake.

"Are you sure you don't want me to get it for you?" Jimmy asked. He wasn't going to let a girl get drinks for the two men. It wasn't right. Bad manners his mother would've said. She also would've slapped him for allowing Noah to do that. "She talked about me?" Jimmy asked the boy, quietly. He couldn't help but feel accomplished.

Noah arched an eyebrow, looking over at Jimmy. "I have legs, don't I?" she pointed out. Without waiting for a response from either of them, she started towards the drinks table. She sniffed curiously at a punch, quickly finding it was definitely alcoholic. She continued down the row of drinks, hoping to find something to quench her thirst without making her loopy and insane.

Jimmy glanced at Jake, with a chuckle regarding what Noah said. She was funny. "So...uh, you don't like socializing either?" Jimmy asked nervously. He really wasn't too good at making friends. At all, really. But this Jake dude looked nice, even if he wanted to get with Noah.

Jake Reed:

Jake thought for a minute, looking between Noah and Jimmy before answering. "You don't need to get me anything." Jake looked down then, not wanting Noah to leave. He knew nothing about Jimmy, and it would be pretty weird being alone, without Noah for reassurance.

Answering Jimmy's question, Jake nodded. "Yup. She told me you were her one of her only friends. She mentioned you a couple times." The son of Zeus tried to smile, but he couldn't make his mouth turn up, so it remained straight. Noah was obviously confused how she felt about Jimmy. She acted so flirty around him, yet she insisted that they were just friends. Somethings Jake just didn't get.

"Parties, talking in groups, that isn't my thing. I'd rather be training for battle. Running, weights, listening, helping others; that's where I come in handy." Jake raised his eyebrows, then released them. His brown eyebrows clashed with his sandy-blond hair. When he got older, and his hair turned gray, the color was sure to be more of a salt and pepper than a white. "I guess I'm just a man of action."

As he sighed, Jake decided to bring up god parents. Now that he had gotten over the awkwardness of being a child with Zeus, it was time to brag to Jimmy. "So, Jimmy, who's your god parent?" Jake was going to wait to start his Zeus rant, but he really did want to know who Jimmy's god parent was. If Jimmy was his cousin, it was going to get kind of weird.

"Same here, man. I prefer working in the armory, fixing cars all day long." He said gesturing to his dirtbike next to a tree. He had rode it here, but it was up on the hill before the Lake. So, no one had seen him anyways. "Well...Hephaestus is my dad." He said proudly. He loved his father, even though they had never met. Come to think of it, he had never met any god.

I looked over at the party. It was just a bunch of people having fun, and I guess I was too bored. I looked at Seth. "I'm a daughter of Hermes. I love parties. But I'm bored because I really don't know anybody here." I paused for a moment. "The party's going on because some kids wanted to have fun breaking curfew." I drank a bit from my beer, obviously bored.
